Situated within Chelsea Market, there's a lot of life happening around Filaga. Warm and inviting staff, and a display case showing off their slices make a seamless experience. Very limited bar seating, but walking around the market, it shouldn't be hard to find a seat. I've had Filaga on a previous New York trip, it has not disappointed on either occasion. The prosciutto slice was crispy, flavorful, and a large portion for under $10. The ingredients are neither skimpy nor under balanced, making for the perfect afternoon snack. read more

Every time we visit New York, Filaga Pizzeria is on our list of must-have places to eat. Their crust is the star and has the perfect amount of thickness and crunchiness for a NY style pizza. It holds the sauce, cheese, and toppings well so you don't have a floppy slice. We purchased our pizza by the slice so everyone got what they wanted and honestly one was enough for us. I did buy a glass of wine for $6 but the pour was a bit small. They do also sell soft drinks and water by the bottle. Yes, it is always super crowded and seating is limited since it is located in the middle of Chelsea Market. But hunting for a spot to sit (or stand) to eat is worth it! read more

This place was hit and miss. We tried 3 slices and 2 of them did not have red sauce and fell super flat. We actually didn't even eat much of the potato one as it was super dry. The dolce inferno was really good, and one of the better slices I had all trip, but I wouldn't go here again. read more

This pizza is AMAZING! They had so many different slices to choose from. The slices are quite big so if wanting to try the different kinds I'd recommend sharing. Can get pretty busy at the market so not always able to find a spot easily to sit. They have seating available right at the bar area in front of the checkout area. Recommend grabbing a few napkins as it can get a little messy! read more

So, a bit of a disclaimer, I hate fru-fru pizza places that hold themselves out to be artisan. Also, this place is in Chelsea Market so I should have expected it. Regardless, it is just OK pizza. It was pretty well baked but the cheese was not to my liking and the sauce was just kind of there. The plopped three basil leaves on it just to be clever. Oh, and did I mention it was $6 for a slice. You can get way better pizza for a lot less. Again, not terrible pizza but just annoying experience all around. read more

Pretty much Pizza Hut like pizza. Freaking pizza slices were COLD. When one of my sons told them to heat it up, initially they didn't want to heat it up because he had bit it. No shit! How is he supposed to know it's not hot until he puts it in his mouth. Only when he spoke up, did they actually give him another warm slice. Treat your customers right and don't play freaking games . read more

I was starving midday while walking around the city and came across this busy, but efficient, pizzeria in Chelsea Market! There's not a ton of space, but there are bar seats to look into the pizza making process which was very entertaining (and enticing lol) while waiting for your slice. I was a bit skeptical of the higher price per slice, but this pizza was SO good- literally melted in my mouth. The slice was also a good portion size. Would definitely recommend! read more

Stopped by after some errands, walked around the entire market and this place just called my name. Everyone was so pleasant, place is clean and the display looked great. This will definitely hit the spot if you're in Chelsea Market, you're hungry, and it's busy-- the line here moves. It's pretty good pizza with a crunchy bottom and a variety of topping offerings. I liked the cotto e funghi in particular! I think it's slightly overpriced, but it is what it is with the area that you're in. I also found the bread to be particularly thick and doughy-- it was just a little too starchy for me. But I also get that I'm getting more bread for my buck, so maybe I shouldn't be complaining as much. read more

Honestly a pretty good pizza spot. I wasn't planning on eating here but when I walked by the aroma was amazing and the pizzas on display looked delicious. As I wandered through Chelsea marketplace I laid eyes on what looked like the most appetizing pizza I have ever seen. The line was long and I didn't mind waiting. When I received my pizza, I took one bite and realized the bread was super duper crunchy. I like really soft bread with my pizza so that was a negative for me. The flavor itself was pretty good. Went to Chelsea Market for lunch while in New York City. What is better than trying a NY pizza. There was a line to order and a separate line to pick up the pizza. Their pepperoni slices were razor thin. I really liked the crispiness of the pepperoni. The thin crust was really crunchy. Then I also ordered a parmigiana di melanzane. This pizza was a deep crust style with eggplant, tomato sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan. I added a bit of red pepper and chili oil. I really liked how the extra condiments added to the bitterness of the tomato sauce. I like when my pizza sauce has a bit of bitterness and it was perfect. The eggplant and mozzarella really paired well with this pizza. read more

Had to grab some pizza before leaving manhattan! Everyone here is very friendly at this countertop spot in Chelsea market serving fresh slices. We got a classic pepperoni slice and a prosciutto slice. The pepperoni was the perfect NY slice - thin crispy crust, lots of pepperoni, and a big filling portion. Omg. This was so good. It was my first slice of pizza since getting to NY, and I was also pretty hungry. But from my first slice of the Dolce Inferno, I was in love. The crust was CRUNCHY, like a crisp foccacia. That is not what I'm used to getting in a pizza. The pepperoni were plentiful. The cheese was melty and there was also a different kind of cheese - gorgonzala? - that i couldn't name, but it was good. Also some kind of orange aioli (?) sauce. We were sort of mindblown by the pizza at Filaga. The seating options being limiting for a larger group aside, the food was amazing. The NY style pizzas (in cheese and pepperoni) had a yummy crunch. The sauce was so good--and something sort of unique. The Romano (Siciliano) style pizzas had a delicious thick crust and did not skimp on the ingredients. Our group ordered seven different slices and all were so satisfying. Chef Michael was wonderful and chatted with us about the styles and how he tried to incorporate his culinary experiences growing up and living in Italy for Manhattan. I wish they would expand. Also, thanks to Angela taking orders who helped us decide and gave us recommendations. read more

loved their display of pizzas, they all looked so yummy. ordering was easy and staff was nice. you're given a ticket and wait for your pizza to be warmed and served. located inside of chelsea market, you'll be able to find them while walking around the prosciutto pizza was yummy, the dough was airy and had a lot of prosciutto on top. i wish there was a bit more arugula and maybe some type of balsamic glaze on top. but none the less it was yummy! read more

It's been just over a year since we were here. I lost 100 lbs prior to this trip and my taste buds had changed drastically. One of my 5 vices was pizza. After the weight loss I could no longer enjoy pizza. I could taste all the sugar in the sauce, all the additives, etc. so I was hell bent on NOT eating pizza. But our first trip to NY and I was a "must do". Ooooh my word! Amazing... just wow! Even in culinary school pizza didn't taste this good. The Chelsea Market was shoulder to shoulder so we waited 35 mins for our two slices after, waiting 20 mins in line to order. Soooo... worth the sustainable wait! Every time my wife suggests pizza for dinner, I say "sure, book our flight". If you have the time... who am I kidding, make the time. Cashier was nice, the girl handing out the pizza not so much, she actually looked miserable but I will ignore it because the pizza is amazing. This is a very busy vendor in the Chelsea Market, the line was pretty deep but it does move fast. Loved watching the pizzas getting baked right there. We were simply in awe looking at the different kinds of pizzas around this place. Had a hard time deciding which slices to get. I mean I have never had eggplant on pizza like this before. Thinly cut, just perfectly cooked, eggplant slices- not too fleshy and not too crunchy. With the ricotta and mozzarella, it blew it out of the park for us. My boyfriend and I visited this shop in Chelsea Market for a quick bite. There were quite a few people in line, about 5 people ahead of us, but we reached the ordering counter pretty quickly. I ordered a slice of the Margherita pizza, while my boyfriend ordered the Diavola. The set up of the shop was aesthetically pleasely, with different pizzas they offer showcased in front. The workers had cute matching outfits and berets and were very patient and nice to every customer. Our order was ready in less than 10 minutes and after they called us to get our food from the pick up counter, our next step was to find somewhere to eat. We settled on a landing a couple shops down and immediately started eating. That pizza was amazing! Perfectly thin and crunchy while still being extremely favorable. This is great for Chelsea market to have a nice pizza place with so many varieties of pizzas and Other places to eat. For fun, they rolled the pizza dough around for us for entertainment. The pizza is salty and not enough for me is a little bit thick, but it's very very light and chewy and crispy and the same time it's doughy soft. read more

The location is fantastic, and the atmosphere is perfect for a casual meal. I especially loved the bar seats where you can watch the team prepping the pizzas right in front of you - it's a fun and engaging experience. While the service can take a little bit of time since they need to heat your pizza slices, it's no different than any other pizzeria that requires re-heating. The wait is totally worth it. We decided to try the chicken parmesan sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The portion was generous - easily enough for two people. What stood out the most was the bread. Instead of the usual sandwich bread, they used focaccia. It was incredibly soft and tasty, adding a unique twist to the sandwich. Founded by Sicilian natives, this pizzeria and rosticceria, opened in March 2016, is inspired by Sicilian style. The 800 square foot space offers "Pizza al Taglio" (by the square slice), "Pizza ripiena" (stuffed with excellent and flavorful ingredients). One of Italy's most fascinating and interesting regions, Sicily serves as the ultimate inspiration for Filaga, from the name (which is named after a Sicilian small town "Filaga"), food, ingredients, including the logo which is inspired by the great tradition of famous Sicilian hand-worked ceramics. The rest of the bar has plenty of space, including an outdoor patio in the warmer months, and the bar food is good. I have also watched World Cup matches here before, which are always fun and energetic. I would definitely recommend Brass Monkey for group happy hours as well as for watching sports.

The place didn't seem bad overall, but that experience definitely left a sour taste. Maybe we just caught them on a weird night. Wouldn't recommend especially being in the wine country.

Sits right on Gansevoort Street, a couple minutes from the Whitney and the start of the High Line, so it works as either a first stop or a last one depending on how the night's going. Great location, centrally located to everything else within walking distance, which is really the whole appeal of drinking in the Meatpacking District in the first place. Apparently it's pulled a fair number of famous faces through the door over the years too, though I obviously wasn't running into any of them on my visit. Nothing else to note. Dress well, the door is up to the doorman. The crowd can feel a little "here for the outfit," but with the right group it's still a good time. Drinks are expensive (cucumber lemonade is solid), and on weeknights the crepe spot upstairs is pretty much your only food option. Tables are available but come with a minimum. The hot tub is the main thing. People say don't get in...do what you want. Once one person's in, more follow. Paradisco on Sundays--get there early and eat before, bar service can be hit or miss. Tuesdays (On Top) is more late night, club kids/celebs, and doesn't really get going till around midnight.

The Standard Biergarten sits tucked right under the trestles of the High Line, attached to The Standard hotel, the building that famously straddles the elevated park itself like a bent-open version of the UN building. It's designed to feel like a real German beer hall dropped into the middle of the Meatpacking District: long picnic tables, communal bench seating, steins of German beer on tap, the full Oktoberfest package running twelve months a year. Here's where it fell apart for a group our size: the food came out way too slow, and there just wasn't enough of it circulating for a party that large. By the end we were acting like vultures, or those seagulls from that one animated movie, every plate that hit the table got swarmed on sight. Drinks, on the other hand, were good and came out fast, so at least nobody was thirsty while they waited on food that wasn't coming. Genuine credit where it's due: the amount of open space and seating here is rare for this city, and for a group our size, that space was the whole reason the event worked logistically at all. Ok time overall. Great venue for a big private event on paper, just make sure whoever's running your food service can actually keep pace with the headcount, because ours couldn't.

The samosas weren't really a hit with the guys, but the ladies handled them just fine. ‍ Our waitress was wonderful -- kind, attentive, and really catered to the cigar smokers in our group. I haven't been to many cigar bars, so I was impressed watching her clip and light their cigars and make sure everyone was taken care of throughout the night. The space itself is pretty small, with a bar area and several little seating enclaves, but it's hella cute! It has that intimate, upscale, old-school NYC feel that works perfectly for the vibe. Now, is it expensive? Hella. But it's also an upscale cigar bar in NYC, so I can't say I was surprised. Overall, a fun stop and a great way to cap off a very NYC kind of night. We thought mini golf was interactive, everyone had the same chance to play and it's simple enough without exerting too much energy (unlike an escape room or the dancing tiles which I also came across in my research). Great place for friends, families, dates of all ages. We checked in on the ground floor (also have a coat check here) and were told they have a cabin themed course on the 2nd floor and a museum themed course on the 3rd floor, but there was a party going on. They also told us about the rooftop lounge, which is covered with plastic and they have heaters blasting the space. We went with the cabin themed. Although I don't think they completely blocked the 3rd floor with the party, we just didn't want to have to compete with others and wanted a quiet experience. They have stairs or an elevator. Once we got to the 2nd floor, we were the only ones there and were explained how the digital scoring works. We inputted our names, and our scoreboard would follow us from board to board in sequence after we all punched in our scores. The max was 6 putts per course to help keep things moving (we definitely played more than 6 on some courses lol). The courses did progressively get more challenging as you moved on. The decor was beautiful. Fairy lights lined the space with murals or a ski lodge/mountains around with a polar bear and a ski mobile. Many cute photo ops. On the last course, once you made it, the game swallowed your ball, I guess to help prevent you from trying to play the course again. I wish there was more than 9 courses though. It was fun enough but maybe having a few more would have helped fill the time more. Time flew by and we had lots of laughs. Would be excited to come back to try the museum course next time.
