All happy hour food which was enough for us. And my peanut butter pie was awesome. And the peach cobbler was its own meal - huge. So much outside seating on the water. I am a MB ex-local here in town, looking at real estate to move back home. When I lived here, I had never tried Filet's. It just so happened, that my hotel was next-door. I was absolutely happy. I ordered the par four. This included a signature filet, grilled shrimp, seared scallops, a crab cake, homemade bernaise sauce, a side, and a salad. I also had a raspberry martini, as well as a strawberry lemon drop martini. My steak was cooked to perfection, and you could tell it was hand cut. The Bernaise sauce was excellent. The scallops were average. The grilled shrimp, average. The crabcake was just So so. The baked potato could've used more sour cream, but was cooked well. The Caesar salad was delicious. The alcoholic beverages were very good. The service was average, not exceptional. Overall, I give it five stars based off the steak itself, the signature sauce, and the drinks. I ordered the stuffed filet and noticed a roach running around my table. I called the busboy over and him and the waitress came to my table and I explained the situation and with them chasing it around my table it ran into my plate then they killed it.The waitress told the manager and the manager discounted my dinner expecting me to pay.I ask to speak to the manager and her attitude was as disgusting as the roach.She was unapologetic and wanted to argue telling me it just ran across the table and I responded and into my plate.She reluctantly removed it from my check and still not I'm sorry. We had a great time! My drink was strong and the food was great. Our server was new but very friendly and helpful. She was very accommodating. The food was very flavorful but I will say that the pecan chicken was overcooked and dry. Our server took it off our bill. I would recommend going during happy hour when everything is cheaper. We grabbed a table on the outdoor deck - great view, seat not at all comfortable - but again, great view. (Saw a lady bring in a cushion to use and was instantly jealous of said cushion!) Highly recommend. The wife and I sat at the sushi bar. The food was amazing. The two gentlemen working the sushi bar were excellent. It was laughs and great conversation while eating very good sushi. I also ordered the signature filet with asparagus and it was melt in your mouth. If you are looking for a good place to eat with a high class yet relaxed ambiance, this is the place to be in Little River. They also offer heated outdoor seating overlooking the waterway, and there was live music outside. We also took advantage of the complimentary valet parking. One of our favorite places to eat in Myrtle Beach. Fresh food. Friendly staff. Lots of seating. Live music on occasion. Great water views and location. Happy hour specials were excellent. Bathrooms were clean. The only downfall is the difficulty getting a parking spot. We only waited 5 minutes for a spot to open up this time. Don't hesitate to park at the hotel a block away and walk. We had a reservation for 20 to see the Christmas Regatta. They set aside 2 picnic tables that at best could seat 16. They knew in advance that one member of our party was in a wheelchair. No accommodations were made. When we spoke to the manager we were told there was nothing they were going to do to remedy the situation and threatened to throw us out. Had we not paid in advance for our reservations, we would have left. We made do. The service was atrocious, waitresses downright overstressed and rude. The food, once it arrived, was ok with the exception of the lobster bisque which eveyone said was way too salty. Understandably it was a busy night, We understood that, but the all around nastiness was totally unacceptable. 20 of us will never go there again. read more

Came over after 7 to avoid the happy hour crowd. Fairly cleared out, plenty of seats on the intercostal. Grabbed a table but it was 20 minutes before anyone greeted us. Took another ten minutes to get drinks ordered. Then drinks were delivered by someone else and another waitress came by to try to take our order and apologized for the long wait. Food was ok, but service was substandard. Multiple tables that self seated after us were served before us by our waitress. We've been coming here for years but were a bit concerned tonight. Trays of food were brought out and set on stands to be delivered to the tables but the staff was so inattentive that the food was swarmed by flies. Totally unacceptable. Our food came out and I grabbed a waitress as soon as I could to prevent fly contamination. Jeez, food service 101 here. read more

One of our favorite places to visit each time (and sometimes twice) we come to Cherry Grove! Atmosphere: on the heated inclosed deck in the off season is cozy with an incredible view of the Little River swing bridge. In the spring and summer and even into fall, the breeze off the inter coastal is so relaxing! Bar: outside bar is fun and always hopping with fun locals! Trigger Fish: light, perfect toppings and delish! Sushi: Godfather is a deep fried roll that is out of this world! Buddha was a raw but super cream cheesy delish. My wife and I made reservations for New Years Eve at Filets as we have enjoyed many happy hour events there but it was our first time in the dining area. We invited several friends to join us, the place was decorated very festive for the Christmas holidays. The waitress told us they were out of several things which was kind of odd as we had 7 o clock reservations , she exclaimed they were closing for a month starting the 1st of January`so that tells me they are trying to get ride of everything in their kitchen. She named 9 different entrees that they were out of 4 of which we asked for!!! If we had known in advance we would have made other plans { reservations made a month in advance} Very disappointed in management / owners for not making notifications of their closing ....many patrons exclaimed their displeasure as well!! read more

We had a wonderful experience at Filets with a group of ten women on our annual beach retreat! The restaurant is located in Cherry Grove, SC (tucked away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Myrtle Beach). It is a fine dining type restaurant with seafood, steak and salads along with sushi and small plates. I ordered a frozen cocktail which were 7 dollars. Then I had the Par Three which included a small house salad, 8 oz filet, a crab cake, grilled shrimp and scallops along with two sides. I ordered a loaded bake potato and the vegetable medley. Everything was delicious! Too much food (would have been perfect to share!) The Service was stellar and the views were superb. The have a fabulous happy house with drink and food special too. We ate here twice while on vacation and enjoyed the food and ambiance. We were seated in the bar and along the water during our two trips and found the food to be very good. Note the prices of many of the entrees are listed lower online than in the printed menu once you're seated. Apparently they're unable to update the website so just be prepared to spend ~$2 more for each entree. Service was good with no complaints from us. Will definitely be back in the future. I know the restaurant business is difficult to make a profit. My family owned a restaurant in the Hamptons, NY, and my mother, sister and myself grew up working in many. It's in a great location and they could increase their profits dramatically, by stepping up on their service and consistency. The main issue this Saturday night was the restaurant was extremely hot. The system is not efficient enough which drains everyone. The restaurant needs a larger compressor. Being told there are too many people is not the answer. You want the restaurant to have lots of people $$$$. I could only imagine how brutal it was in the kitchen. Ordered a top shelf drink which came without the ordered lime. Not a big deal, but the waitress did review the drink order with the customer. We had ask several times for the lime. Another 45 minutes. Ordering our food was approximately 40 minutes after we arrived and were seated. The waitress was a nice elderly woman who was running/being pulled in too many directions, this is where the manager or another team member could have stepped up and helped her. She was overwhelmed. It was 1 1/2 hours before we received our meals. Mine was cold and came without a steak knife. Okay, not a big deal but a butter knife was not really working. When a steak dish ordered maybe the expediter in the kitchen can place steak knives on the dishes that need them. Waited another 1/2 hour to receive a steak knife. Then had to ask again for two more steak knives for my friends, who ordered beef tips but need to be cut. You're not reinventing the wheel. I think this should be common sense. The beef tips were overcooked. One was ordered black and blue, and the other medium. Some of the meat was not chewable. Lots of gristle. My salad was wilted and appeared to be left out/soggy. I ate it and did not complain because I was hungry. We were all disappointed and decided to only come to Filet's for HH drinks and appetizers. Main issue is they need a much better system of taking orders and getting drinks to the tables, within a reasonable amount of time and accuracy. There should be one bartender for making drinks and a runner to bring the drinks. This frees up the waitress. There should be a manager in the dining area paying attention to assisting the staff when they are overwhelmed. Pickup their slack. The waitress should never have to go into the kitchen. Everything can be done on a hand held computer. Which can even tell the server who gets what. The manager who came over to speak to us was rude in her responses to our complaints, but did offer to take items off the check. That nice, but your attitude sucked. We don't need a hand out. We came in to have a nice dinner, but the did not happen. Getting our checks. That was time consuming too. You are losing money and customers. read more
