Delicious! That is what first comes to mind when I think of my visit to Filippi's Pizza Grotto. I visited during the weekend, and right away we were welcomed by the amazing staff. They were helpful, made recommendations, and answered all of the questions. The garlic knots were so delicious. My friend got the meatball and said it was very good as well. I had the linguine with clams, and it was very good. To close we ordered a cannoli, and it was the best way to end the meal. Inside there are plenty of tables, a bar, and they also have outside seating. If you are in the area, and craving Italian food, go to Filippi's.

Cozy, old school Italian pizzaera doing things RIGHT! We started with the lettece and tomato salad. I had blue cheese dressing. It was the perfect mix of ingredients and the dressing was decious. Then we had a 1/2 order of cheese ravoli in Marinara. The ravoili are oval shapped and stuffed with ricotta. Next time, I am getting the full order. We then split a vegetarian pizza. The crust was magic. Tasted just like my moms homemade from my childhood. Lena our server was super nice and very professional. Can't wait to go back.

What a gem! Checked this eatery out while traveling with my husband and omg old school Italian vibes all the way...I enjoyed my food so much I forgot to get pics lol! First, let's talk about the meatball and the garlic bread...the biggest meatball I've ever had so flavorful and moist! You can taste all the seasonings and didn't disappoint! The cheese on the garlic bread generous and ooey gooey goodness! I got the combination plate with spaghetti and lasagna with meat sauce and it was amazing! The lasagna is topped with the sauce and is layered with plenty of cheese. The sauce was on point and tasted like it had been made all day! Our server Paola I believe was her name and she was nice...gave us space to chat and catch up with friends but would check on us periodically. Quaint with a bit of old school charm! Overall a solid choice for Italian food and can't wait to return!

Beautiful nicely decorated Italian interior. Warm and friendly welcome. Perfect soft and not too loud 1940s & 50s (I think) music playing. Quick efficient service. Our orders taken right away. Freshly baked hot pizza with generous toppings. Crunchy but still moist dough. Simple bread elevated to another level with all the generous cheese and toppings. Fettuccine Alfredo's aldente pasta loaded with cheese just as enjoyable. Only comment was on the plate of grilled chicken. Chicken was dry and overcooked. Mushroom and broccoli were ok. Soft but not mushy. Still had some crunch in it. Meatball with sauce was delicious (loved the sauce). Soup ok but mild and lacking the stronger Italian seasoning I was expecting. Overall, it was a nice family lunch with sweetheart and my oldest son's family.

We had Mike tonight. He is a wonderful server very tentative.. he does everything with a smile and runs the bar. We really appreciate him.

Such a great restaurant. Starting with the decor of empty old fashioned wine bottles. Our waiter Mike also doubled as the bartender very nice guy and knowledgeable. We had the margarita pizza and a Cesar side salad. I had a glass of LaMarca procecco. Yum Next time we are in Napa we will definitely be back.

An old school Italian Restaurant across from the Oxbow Public Market. It isn't that inviting from the outside. My husband was craving Italian food so we thought we'd try it out. Our back up plan was the Oxbow Public Market. We yelped it as we stood outside and it got 4 stars so we took the chance. When we entered there was a sign that said please wait to be seated. We were not greeted upon arrival, which was odd as several employees just passed us as we stood there. Someone could have said we'll be right with you, even though it wasn't there job to seat people. Eventually we were greeted and we had our choice of seats. The place was empty. The baseball playoffs were going on so we sat in the bar. As we sat down a steady stream of people came in. We were there on a Saturday evening around 5pm. So, we were a little early for the dinner rush. Once we sat down one other the people that just passed us as we waited to be seated greeted us, he was the bar tender and he served the people that sat outside and those in the bar. It seemed a little too much for him. He was really being pulled all ways. He greeted as soon as we sat down and given menus and as he took our drink order he brought us water. My husband then ordered a beer after our waters were being delivered. We ordered the anti pasta salad, It was really good. It had salami, baloney, cheese squares, Olives both black cut up and whole green ones with the pits, and a banana pepper. We also ordered the small margarita pizza. Both hit the spot. The small pizza was the perfect size for us, we even took a piece home. Overall we'd go back. The food was good and service was ok. Prices were reasonable especially compared to other Napa eateries. It was also nice to sit down and be served, as compared to Oxbow Public market.

    Spaghetti , 1 MEATBALL, LASAGNA
    Rob M.

Walked into Filippi's hungry. Walked out needing a forklift and possibly a nap. Let's talk about this glorious carb parade: The lasagna? Layers of cheesy, saucy joy stacked like it's trying to win a game of Tetris in my stomach. It didn't just hit the spot--it declared dominion over it. The meat ravioli was like little pillows of happiness, except instead of dreams, they were stuffed with perfectly seasoned meat and smothered in sauce like Nonna's love. 10/10 would let it ruin my diet again. Spaghetti? Classic. Comforting. So much of it I half expected Lady and the Tramp to slide into the booth beside me. I twirled it until my wrist cramped, and I have no regrets. And then... the meatball. Not just any meatball. This thing was the size of a softball. I don't know what cow they borrowed this from, but I hope it got a thank-you card. Juicy, tender, and capable of causing brief, joyful tears. Staff was warm and welcoming--even when I asked them how many people that meatball has taken down. Highly recommend. Bring friends, or at least a game plan and elastic waistband. Mangia!

She opened a bottle of wine that we had brought with us to celebrate. (Crock fee was $25, fyi). She even offered to pour our wine into a decanter. We started off with some appetizers, the crab cakes and skirt steak satay. OMG these two items were just absolutely delicious. So much flavor! I loved the open kitchen concept--you get to watch the chefs in action--and even the bathrooms have unique details that make the whole restaurant feel special. Everything we ordered was delicious. The special of the day was shishito peppers with a balsamic glaze, and they were absolutely incredible. Sweet, savory, and perfectly blistered--I could have ordered another plate just for myself. The calamari was another standout. It was light, crispy, and fresh with a delicate batter instead of the heavy coating you often find elsewhere. We also ordered the Pork Chop Milanese, which was a generous portion and easily shareable. It was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. The Ravioli al Limone was rich, creamy, and full of bright lemon flavor--definitely a must-order if you love fresh pasta. A few friends at our table have been on an Italian food kick lately and ordered the chicken, and it exceeded everyone's expectations. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and definitely not an afterthought on the menu. And of course, the pizza was a huge hit with the kids. One of the managers, Stephen, stopped by our table and welcomed us with complimentary glasses of Prosecco for the birthday celebration, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the evening. We started with the Pasta Fritta con Prosciutto--crispy, rosemary-scented pasta dough wrapped in prosciutto with mascarpone espuma, honey, and Parmigiano Reggiano. It was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. We also shared the Caesar Nero, made with little gem lettuce, black garlic, and Parmigiano crostini, which was fresh and flavorful. For cocktails, we both ordered the Porch Punch. Made with Redwood Empire Pipe Dream 101, yellow peach, oolong tea, lemon, vanilla, and clarified using the milk punch process, it tasted like a refreshing peach tea. The etched ice cubes with wine glasses and utensils were a small detail that made the presentation even more memorable. For our entrées, Face ordered the Salmon Risotto, while I had the Carbonara. The carbonara is topped with an activated charcoal Parmesan tuile, and while it looks dramatic, it doesn't change the flavor at all--it simply adds a beautiful presentation. They are so, sooo good together! Please make sure to order them as a pair! Chopped Salad- loved the combo of bitter radicchio and crisp lettuce tossed in a light dressing with local Rancho Gordo heirloom beans. Corona Beans- giant, super creamy white beans with garlic and capers. This was an instant favorite at our table! Farm Raabs- tender, charred broccolini with a great wood-fired flavor. I just had to pick out the pancetta but they were delicious. Pastas (Mezze Rigatoni & Agnolotti)- both dishes contain pork/meat so I passed but the rest of the table absolutely loved them. Lamb Sausage Pizza- another dish I skipped due to the meat, but everyone else devoured it! The hospitality was wonderful and our server was so accommodating and attentive with our group. To top off a great night, they brought out three birthday gelato desserts for the celebrants in our group. I loved the vibrant energy and open kitchen concept. We will definitely be back!

I still had to pick my kid up from school, so it just made sense to slide somewhere close by that never misses. Pulled up to Ristorante Pasta D'Oro -- this was my third visit -- and just like every other time, it delivered. Honestly, it might've been even better. We grabbed the regular spaghetti and split it between my two sons. Plenty of food, easily enough for two. I did ask about the spaghetti and meatballs since they usually run that as a special, but it wasn't available today. Still, the regular spaghetti held its own with no problem. I also picked up the mixed greens salad, and the vinaigrette is different in the best way. It's flavorful, balanced, and seriously one of the highlights. When I brought it home, my fiancée tried it and immediately said I should've asked for extra. I didn't realize it was going to be that good, but now I know. Pro tip: ask for extra dressing. We grabbed the penne pasta as well, which my fiancée said was great. And once my toddler finished his spaghetti, he went straight to helping her with the penne. That's how you know it's fire. On the side, I ordered the mozzarella sticks -- handmade, big, crispy, and cooked perfectly. I believe it came with about four to six, but they're large and filling. Everything was 10 out of 10. If I could give it a million out of a million, I would. Since I can't, it's a solid five out of five stars every time. Pasta D'Oro for the win.

We ordered the ribeye dinner, shrimp Alfredo, misto frito, and bread pudding (bread pudding was DISGUSTING because it's premade and microwaved). There's a few things that could be a lot better 1. Dining-in wait time was long even without no one dining in. 2. Our food came out very very cold 3. Mash potatoes lack creaminess and flavor. 4. We had to ask for the complementary bread and olive oil which was premade low quality. The ribeye was juicy had flavor the veggies was perfection in flavor the mash potatoes whew failed miserably almost tastes like box mash potatoes. Chef needs to get the mash potatoes recipe together asap. The portion size of the sides are very very small. Especially for the price you're paying for the ribeye dinner. The Alfredo was a chef kiss perfection ! Stay away from the BREAD PUDDING AT ALL COST!
