Out and about around Downtown Napa this past Saturday, and figured a sandwich would really hit the spot. Decided to visit The Food Mill after reading some other reviews. This is now my Napa sandwich spot. I got a turkey sandwich on Dutch with bacon and spouts, along with the usual sandwich accoutrements. Absolutely delicious. Simple but just how I like my sandwich to be. Fresh and flavorful. Staff was very friendly and the eating areas both inside and out are inviting and comfortable. There's a small bar with two TV's to watch sports as well. Very appealing. There are some pre-made paninis that look delicious as well, and a hot food table. All of it was tempting, but just a sandwich for the day. Finally, there is also a small refrigerated area that has some drinks along with some packaged foods. I was told by another customer that the pimento cheese dip is to die for. Something else to try next time. read more

Been going to Genova's for over 15 years. Their sandwiches are outstanding but prices have skyrocketed. For the first time, we thought we'd explore other options. Had the pre-made pork loin panini here and it was outstanding. My wife had the pastrami sandwich and said hers was delicious. Nice to know there are other excellent deli sandwich options in Napa. This place is an absolute gem in Napa. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to come here and I know I'll be back frequently. The staff is so nice and the sandwiches are awesome and made fresh. Heard on social media I had to try this place now that it's under new management and hey, for once something on social media was true! I got a custom sandwich and my BF got a hot panini. We were both happy with our selections. Ingredients tasted fresh and quality and, for Napa, the price was reasonable. It was pretty simple inside. The deli area and checkout counter, some tables and chairs, a bar (not sure if closed, nobody was staffing it?), a refrigerated section with some premade stuff, and a couple shelves with random goodies on it. It's fine the way it is, but I look forward to seeing what the new owners do with the place. In the meantime, yummy food, good prices, and friendly staff (I had no idea what I wanted and he explained what they had and didn't rush me)... so yeah, we'll be back! As a bonus there was no line and we got our items within 2 minutes. Compared to Genovas (which I also do like a lot) it's simpler, faster, and cheaper... my kind of thing! Of course I'm sure it matters when you go, but we went around 1:30ish on a weekday. If I had to gripe about something, maybe it's that they close at 6PM? I meant to try Food Mill last week and it was like 6:20 and they were closed so I didn't go. If only they were open just another 30 minutes I think people that work a regular 9-5 would have a better opportunity to go there to get dinner? IDK... read more

I've wanted to try this place for a long time and it did not disappoint. The place is clean and specious with indoor and outdoor sitting. The people working are super friendly and the food was amazing. I tried the Mexican torta panini and loved it. My sister got a made to arder sandwich and she also loved it. First time here. Hubby comes here often. We got 2 paninis, 2 cooler drinks, and a bag of chips $35 total. Not too expensive considering the area. Paninis were really good! But sorta small for the price. I'd def go back. They have a small bar there too. Beer and wine. Big tv. Cooler full of pastas and pre made food too. But I didn't see a bathroom? My wife and I stopped in yesterday to grab a late lunch to go. WOW, what a selection of choices. Premade Panini sandwiches, custom made salads, hot self-serve bar (at the time ribs, vegetables, and mashed potatoes). There is a large drink refrigerator in one corner, tables, chairs, bare set up, and large screen TV's. The staff polite and refreshingly gun. They were helpful with all of our questions. Overall experience was excellent! We'd never been here before despite living in Napa for years and talked to the new owner and he was telling us all about how he revamped the space and menu. Very cool and a nice guy! We got a few sandwiches and slices of pizza and all were great. There's a wide variety of food to go for from burritos to salads to sandwiches.
