Crunchy large well cooked crust but the middle was soggy and incredibly thin and unrisen. The cheese curds were pretty good. The salad didn't have a lot of flavor, could have done with more dressing. We are no stranger to Forge Pizza having visited the Forge in Jack London Square several times when we lived in the Bay Area. The Napa restaurant is nice. Tonight we dined simple splitting a Caesar Salad and a Seasonal Meatball and Pepperoni Pizza. The Caesar Salad was actually pretty good and with the addition of anchovies quite tasty. The salad was good size and easy to split. The Seasonal Pizza was also tasty and the wood fired Pizza Oven helped bring the flavors together. Service was polite but at times we felt forgotten. We had to request water while others got water automatically. Also, the check was dropped off at the end of the meal but it took decades to have the bill processed. We walked to this place because it was close to our hotel. This is good place to meet up and have a beer or to go to after movie. Calamari was a little heavy with oil, angry shrimp was pretty good and our two pizzas were okay, we dipped the pizza crust into the butter from the angry shrimp - yum! Hubby and I came here yesterday for a late lunch after a day of car shopping. I love coming here too. We were greeted and seated immediately at the same Table we had the last time we were there not too long ago and can see the kitchen which I like watching. He promptly took our order and delivered our drinks and food fairly quickly and frequently check on us too. We have always enjoyed the cheeseburger here so that was delicious as it should be. That salad was so good that I am craving it right now as I write this review! They have loyalty card and because we dine there often we got a some funds to redeem off the check. I just ordered a Mediterranean pizza through Grubhub and I can honestly say this is one of those rare instances in which the actual product is way better than the photo. There were 4 of us and we ordered an appetizer, salad and 2 pizzas to share -- it was perfect for us! The Watermelon Salad was so fresh and tasty, it's the perfect salad for a hot summer day. The Street Corn had a nice kick to it but it wasn't what I expected, the photos on yelp made it look like it was off the cob. Our main dishes were the pizzas, the mushroom and carnivore were both tasty but the carnivore was by far my favorite! They have both indoor and outdoor seating but mainly indoor when it's cold. It's very aesthetic and I like the vibe inside. We however didn't order any pizza so we want to try it next time. We had 2 kids and 3 adults in our party, the kids got grilled cheese and chicken nuggets with fries along with lemonades. I got the roasted beet salad with chicken which was really good! My brother got the fish and chips and my sister in law got fish tacos. Even though there is a pizza place down the street from my house, I'd rather take the extra miles to visit Forge. Their building is spacious and welcoming - offering bar, indoor, and outdoor seating. We ordered a Philly pizza and it came with a salad and cheese curds. The salad was alright, we ordered a simple Caesars salad. The pizza itself was a little bland in my opinion, but and there were little hints of meat. I was expecting to taste a Philly cheesesteak sandwich in pizza form, but all I got was a taste of cheese.. the cheese curds were also just okay. Overall the food was average, nothing really stood out. The service was pretty fast and everyone who helped was friendly. The restaurant itself has lots of space. It gave a great cozy vibe with the dimmed lights and fireplace. We went at the peak of dinner time and it wasn't too busy which was nice. The option of indoor and outdoor seating is neat - we chose indoors. Service was friendly enough, slightly awkward maybe? Not sure how to describe it. The food did arrive in like 10 minutes after ordering, which was awesome. We ordered the "Bamba" pizza which is "red sauce, chorizo, pickled jalapeños, pepperoni, red onions, mozzarella, parmesan, fresh cilantro." I found our pizza to be overall underwhelming. A good combination of flavors but for the price, the toppings were very sparse. Just check my picture and you'll see what I mean. The two of us shared it. We weren't super hungry, so it was fine, but if you want a full meal you'll definitely want to order your own pizza. This pizza is regularly $21 (online menu shows $20 as of this writing but paper menu in restaurant was accurate) but as we came during "happy hour" it was $16. Again, that's actually a decent price especially given the area, but I would just expect more substance to the pizza, especially if I was paying the regular price of $21. read more

Went here with the family to meet some friends. One of the few places to bring kids in Napa. We enjoyed pizza, appetizers, cesar salad, french fries. Food: very good. The kids enjoy the kids menu, and some of the more grown-up fair. There is a full bar, but it was not awkward without drinks. The flavors are good, they were groundbreaking about 5-10 years ago. Slightly fried and topped with a lemony sauce and some shaved parmesan, no breading. Perfect and delicious. The Smoked Buffalo Wings were also great. Half flats and half drums, they were lightly covered in sauce and served with blue cheese. Not drowning in sauce, they were meaty and just a little bit spicy but not too much so. Keeping in mind that 2 stars means "Could've been better". Here are suggestions to improve the service that was lacking. 1. Bring out the little plates, silverware, and napkins BEFORE bringing out the 2 pizzas, not setting the pizzas down and then saying, I'll go get your plates. 2. When the cook takes the pizza out of the fire, don't let it sit there getting cold. Deliver it to the table. Someone should be stationed at the entrance to greet and seat the customers. The pizzas for being so "fancy" were kind of bland. Putting arugula on it was interesting, but it might be better to add a little flavor to it, if you put it on last like you did, then maybe giving it more fire for about 30 seconds. I was very pleased with my visit to "the forge". I went with some friends before we went to the movies and I had only planned on eating a small portion but I ate half a pizza instead! The Mediterranean pizza was delicious. It felt fresh, it was flavorful, and the crust was fluffy and crisp. The staff were polite and attentive. I appreciate that they asked before filling my glass of water, and even replaced it when they noticed my ice had melted.
