    Halo halo
    Min Z.

It's more like a grocery store than a restaurant. The atmosphere was very casual, lots of boxes piled up and took up half of the store. The service was acceptable for cheap eats. We went in to have halo halo, a popular cold dessert in the Philippines. It was a simple version halo halo and I didn't tasted many ingredients.

The barbecue skewer was perfectly glazed with a smoky-sweet sauce that hit all the right notes. The pork adobo was tender and flavorful, with a comforting, classic taste, but the sauce could have used a touch more depth--still, a solid Filipino meal worth returning for! I got the combo which came with two entrees and serving of rice, at $14.74 total was a bit pricey. Otherwise, a solid place if you crave some Filipino food. They also sell some Filipino deserts and imported items.

I wanted to explore more Filipino food after I have tried it for a while. I chose KC Filipino Restaurant because I wanted to try Crispy Pata (Crispy Knuckle) that not many places serve it. (mostly pork belly) When I got inside the atmosphere was very casual and seem like a cafeteria or canteen style with mini mart. It might be very familiar for Asian people like me or Filipino. Too bad that they don't have menu or any food name on display glass counter, so it wasn't quite easy for me to order something else that I wanted to try (besides Crispy Pata). As for the food, Crispy Pata, I was a little upset. (From my experiences) It wasn't crispy enough, a lot of fat/skin parts still sticky and tough. That might be because they didn't fry it long enough and many customers there at that time. As for the flavor, quite tasteless, not much herbs or spices. I also ordered something look like beef curry (I don't know the name), I like this one though. It tasted quite mild and beef texture was cooked nicely. I still got BBQ pork skewer and fried banana, they both were just OK, quite plain and too sweet. For the service, as I said in the beginning, it was vey casual restaurant, so please don't expect to get a professional or full service too much. It was ordinary and informal restaurant type. (but inside is spacious and have many dine-in tables) p.s. If you have or know Filipino food background before, it would be helpful to visit this place but if you like a challenge and learn authentic Filipino style, that is fine too. p.s. Before I left, I bought a Filipino dessert to try, because I like the color (violet) I don't know what it is, anyway nothing was fancy.

Free parking, family friendly seatings, long slow lines and lack of rice. Those are some of the things I immediately noticed during the visit. Located to the left of the NY Mart, this relatively new Filipino cafe / grocery store left me wishing a bit of everything for more. The parking is free but it can feel far due to only one of two entrances available to use. This can pose a challenge if you purchase catering sized meals or large quantities of grocery items. The seatings are great for families to sit and eat but not so much for just party of two. No high chairs for babies available in case that's a concern for you. The tables and chairs weren't exactly the cleanest nor was any napkins readily available for use. We had to wait 5+ minutes to have someone give us napkins and utensils to eat our takeaway. The lines were long and very slow. The food was delicious but they ran out of rice for all to eat. This created an unfortunate situation of wasting all the delicious broth and sauce to be left behind. The food I got to try was otherwise delicious. I wish the portions were larger and the rice more ample. The grocery section had a little bit of everything. I loved the puffed chocolate snack. It's like biting into an air of chocolate in each bites. Think cheetos but lighter and tasting like chocolates. In sum, I wouldn't mind returning again if a friend wants to go but otherwise skip the place altogether.

The owners are so so helpful and kind at KC Filipino!!! There is a cafeteria style restaurant and also a market area with snacks, pantry items and frozen foods! My favorites that we ate were the lumpia, the pork sinigang and the flan!! The pork sinigang was so comforting and had such great flavors. The flan was so rich and decadent. The owners recommended some of their favorite pastries and snacks to take home. The philippines bread house pastries are delicious (the hopia was amazing).

I always get excited when new places open up in the area and this was on my list to try. A family owned business ran by the same owners of Pampanguena Cafe. My sister and I stopped in for lunch and we had a mediocre experience. Good: Variety of options for lunch combos. Beef, chicken, and vegetables are available. Plenty of choices for snacks, desserts, and small bites. The style is "turo-turo" which means "point point" from a selection of food on display. It's a quick process unless you order from the special menu. I ordered Laing (taro leaves cooked in coconut milk) and the purity of the coconut flavor shined through. It was probably the best part of my meal. Decent prices for the lunch combos. Bad: The chicken bbq on a stick was disappointing. It didn't taste like the usual Filipino charred bbq that I'm use to. It was brushed with basic barbecue sauce and I expected it to be warmer than room-temperature. Some of the dishes on display looked reheated from the day before. The dirty dishes from other tables were left sitting there while we ate. Not a good look for incoming customers and it wasn't sanitary period. Overpriced snacks on display. Overall, I give it a 3 star rating. Hopefully they make a few adjustments. There is always room for improvement! I'll be back to try their lumpiang shanghai and halo-halo.

So I tried ttheir combination meals. It started at $10+. Maybe I said" It will be better" Lo and behold It got worse. Their combination meals are like childs portion in a very small container at $10. I was buying Pork Sinigang, from a small container I opted to get the big take out container. When I saw that it was all soup I decided otherwise. We used to be regulars at KC Filipino... Have the prices of meats and veggies gone up? for them to reduce the portions amd charge more. This place will lose customers. We're going to the other Filipino food resto down the road. Albert

After snowboarding at Liberty mountain PA. I was craving for hot filipino soup on this cold weather, and I saw this on my way back to washington. The store closes at 7pm and there is no number to call, but i try it anyway. I arrive around 6:37p and they seem like getting ready to close but they took their time to serve me my favorite Pork Sinigang. It not as best as my wife or my mom sinigang, but boy this will do. It was actually pretty decent not much vegetable but i'm not expecting much i just want hot soup and they delivering smoking hot. I ate that sinigang like a soldier i still have few minutes to buy some filipino junk food and price is decent to not ever price like other filipino chain out there. I would definitely be back here and I recommend this to anyone missing some filipino cooking. Thank you for satisfying my craving it's worth the stop.

This is a family-owned restaurant which moved into where Matt's Kabob used to be in this complex. So far, the hubby and I have only stopped by for the Halo Halo as a snack, but we are eager to return given the fantastic customer service, the large amount of seating in the spacious and sparkling clean restaurant, (not to mention ample free parking right outside), and the menu, which looks delicious! Looking forward to stopping by soon :)

The lumpia there is super super decent. We got it to go. The service was good as well. But, basically the rating is for the lumpia.

Just faaaaannnnnttttasssiiiicccc. I'm big on bread and it was so soft. It was served on a toasted roll along with big pieces of pork with a skin that was so crispy and crackling to complement the juicy meat. The portions were huge, which surprised me. Everything is such small portions these days but it was worth the cost. You have a choice between fries and chips. The chips were not home made so I opted for the fries. They also gave me a side of sauce, which almost tasted like Big Mac sauce? The arugula also adds on to the taste. My biggest regret was not getting two! A tip is you can call ahead and place your order. If you're in a rush, just call ahead. It looked like a nice sit down establishment as well.

So I came on weekend as soon as it opened. There were only a few tables for diners. There were shelves of food and goods available to buy. Being a first timer, I had trouble to order the blackboard menu was on top of the counter, but I don't think everything was on the menu. I saw people carrying milkshakes but I couldn't find any on the menu. I ordered staff favorites Lechon kawali bowl. It came with garlic rice, sweet longanisa, a fried egg, and the signature Crispy port belly. It was good, but the garlic rice needed more flavor, because only a little sweet longanisa was added, I had to ask for extra sauce to finish the meal. Although friends vouched for the delicious food, but I found pork belly was just ok. And overall needs a bit more flavor. I also had Une custard cake which was too sweet for me. I would definitely come back to try more dishes!

I stopped in around 10AM onna Sunday for their fresh pan de sal (baked until 11AM) and grabbed a few warm bags to share. The real reason I came was for their ube cheesecake for my goddaughter's birthday -- and wow. Rich, heavy (in the best way), and easily one of the best ube desserts in the DMV. It disappeared fast. After this visit, I literally sent three other friends here -- and they all walked out with a full load of baked goods and loved everything. You can also order Gwenie's on Uber Eats and DoorDash, and they often run buy-one-get-one specials on the apps, which is such a great deal. If you're not local, you can even order some of their treats on Amazon and ship them to someone you love.
