We ordered several appetizers. The chicken wings aren't your typical wings. I wasn't a fan of the wings we sent them back and they took the wings off our tab, which to me was going above and beyond. The steak I had was amazing. Took a while but they were busy, after all it was a Saturday. I ordered the steak medium and it was cooked to perfection making the wait more than worth it. The cocktails were all good. I recommend trying their speciality cocktails. Vodkas were all infused and delicious. I would go back if I were in the area. We tried Finch & Fork the other night and had one of the best meals we have eaten in SB in a long time. The waiter was courteous and friendly, and prompt with the food without making us feel rushed. We started with Cheddar Hush Puppies and Shishito Peppers, which were both delicious. We also shared the wedge salad which was a nice twist on a favorite salad. For main course, I had the Agnolotti (to die for) and my husband had the ribs. Our food was spectacular. One of our courses was delivered by the nice sous chef who explained the fried chicken recipe to us and made wonderful conversation. It was a very friendly atmosphere and I was surprised that it wasn't more full on a Saturday night. It won't be long before word gets out about this new spot. You don't want to miss it. Food was fantastic. A week later and we still talk about this restaurant, its delicious deserts and the fantastic (not to be missed!) caramelized banana shake. Even the children's menu wasn't overlooked. The chicken tenders are actual, hand breaded pieces of chicken (not frozen) and my 7 year old son declared that it was the best chicken tenders he's ever had. I came for lunch. I had walked around 6 miles or so and was HUNGRY but did not want to stuff, wanted something healthy. I had their salad, don't remember the name, but it had wheat berries, quinoa, roasted cauliflower, salmon, some other things. It was really good and just what I needed. Unlike some places that skimp on the "expensive" ingredient, they had lots of big pieces of perfectly cooked salmon. I passed on dessert since I was going out for ice cream. This place was very delicious. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and selected this place. The customer service was great. The restaurant is located inside the Canary Hotel. It was a nice location. We ordered the mac and cheese which was very good! We also ordered the short rib which was amazing, it was so darn good. My husband ordered pork chop he said he would give an 8 out of 10, Lastly we ordered the banana cream shake it was good very good. We will be back this was a great place. I was disappointed in the both the food and the service. My wife and I shared a pasta appetizer and the trout. For some reason the server put them both to come out at the same time. I found the trout to be an uninspired. There was a sauce that was completely saturated by the grains served with it. This place has gone very downhill. Went with a friend for dinner tonight. We made a reservation using open table and arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation time. Our fault, however I counted 17 empty tables and we couldn't be seated early. I get staffing issues in restaurants, but really, what was going to happen in a 20 minute period? We stood there for at least 15 minutes waiting, the the hostess said "I am happy to seat you early now." Oh thanks, except now it isn't exactly early anymore. The service was very slow and our waiter seemed to care more about every other table. I ordered a Grey Goose martini with a twist. The martini came dirty, with two olives. I didn't touch it, but it took about fifteen minutes for the waiter to appear with my friend's wine, at which point I mentioned that my martini was incorrect. He looked at it and said "oh, that is for a different table." He took the martini that had been sitting on our table and actually delivered it to another table! I was shocked. Someone paid $16 for a martini that sat on our table for a quarter of an hour. Unfortunately, this isn't the first less than excellent experience I have had here, this is just the first one that made me change my review and decide not to go back again. read more

Okay I am very picky. Thus stated, this was one of the best meals I have eaten in a year, absolutely the best food I ate during a 3 day visit to SB. MY date and I arrived about 30 minutes before our reserve, so we went to the bar to order drinks and just stayed there. We had the deviled eggs, F and F sliders and the homemade hummus. All three dishes were delicious, yes I know its impossible to make Deviled eggs or sliders any different than they ways you have had them before but they WERE different and incredible. The hummus was excellent, very unique in both presentation and taste. We shared the short ribs, which were divine, had a bit of crunch which was unusual. Our drinks were great and when the bartender was unable to get a second round right, after a bit of a wait, he comped us the drinks and the dessert. Oh and the dessert: smore pot de creme. Unbelievable. Inventive cuisine, delicious most importantly and wonderful prompt service. My first 5 star review of the year! well done read more

Wow was I very disappointed with my service! My GF and I walked up to the bar and we waited for at least 15 minutes until a bartender asked us if we wanted a drink, but the funny thing is that the 2 bartenders that were working made eye contact with us numerous times and didn't even acknowledge us!!! You would think that a place like finch and fork would be top notch and have amazing service, but definitely NOT the case!! The hostess was the only attentive and nice person in that whole establishment, she showed us some drink menus after we sat ourselves on the couch near the bar area that was filled with empty plates and drinks. The busser comes over and we thank him for cleaning up and he doesn't even say a word to us. We are SB locals and we would NEVER recommend this place to friends or family. We also met a couple that sat right next to us (had already stayed at the hotel a couple nights) and they also said that they felt they were ignored earlier in the afternoon by the bartenders, so it seems that the terrible service is consistent and we were definitely NOT impressed. I rather go to Bouchon or Wine Cask and spend my money where I know I will get a great meal and great service any day of the week. This was our first visit to Finch and Fork and most certainly our LAST. read more

Been here a couple of times but only for holidays. The most recent time today was for thanksgiving. There was a three course pre fixed menu, the apps and entrees were delicious but not traditional thanksgiving food at all. Before this I had been here for the Mother's Day brunch Buffett and that was amazing. The only thing lacking here is the service. Finch & Fork was a revelation from the start. We arrived 1/2 hour early for our reservation, and the place was packed. We were asked if we'd mind waiting in the bar until our table became available. Fifteen minutes later the hostess came to take us to our table! Like I said the place was packed with a line of people waiting to get it, so it took a little while for our waitress to get to us. But from there on everything was terrific. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with your menu decisions. I had the rib eye steak, and my wife and I shared the mac and cheese side. I think my wife had fish, that she really liked. I was too caught up in how much I enjoyed my meal to notice what she was having. They don't serve huge portions of food, just very well prepared, reasonable amounts of food. I like to eat, and sometimes over eat. But when food is so well prepared you don't need lot of it to satisfy you. I was full before I finished my entree, and had to leave some of the mac and cheese behind. I really enjoyed this place! Got seated right away on a Friday night, but there were a fair amount of people already in the restaurant. Got the cauliflower to start. Very delicious and very oily. Someone brought over a complimentary pickled vegetable sampler and it reminded me of my childhood. I ordered the seafood pot pie. Good portion size. There were 11 clams inside!! 11!! Did not expect that many. Perfect umami taste. My boyfriend ordered the duck, which was a lot smaller than I imagined it to be, but it was pretty good!! The peas didn't really make any affect though. Also got the honey lavender creme brûlée. I suggest you get this. If you're coming in here for an afternoon snack, get this. It is the most wonderful creme brûlée that I've had. Maybe it's because honey lavender is a thing now, but it was so yummy. Presentation was a 10/10 and they also give you a little bit of honey comb to chew on :) read more

Went here for a belated Mother's day lunch. Wine list was great with mostly local wines. Oysters, deviled eggs, and poblano leek soup were all delicious. My mother had the open faced steak salad. My brother had the burger which I had a bite of and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had at a restaurant. My wife and I split the ban mi and daily beef dip special. The Ban mi was okay (not bad) just overshadowed by how good their beef dip was. We tried a few of their desserts the winner by far was the banana milk shake. Our server Rob was fantastic. He was there when we needed him and did not crowd the table. He made appropriate conversation and did a wonderful job guiding us through the menu and wine list. Will definitely stop by if we are back in SB especially if it's a Monday and we can get the beef dip again. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary, and we were NOT disappointed! Customer service was stellar from the moment we walked in the door, to when we paid our check. They even also offered complimentary champagne and drinks for us, along with these amazing pickled vegetables that were so flavorful and fresh. We ordered the Scallops and Beef Cheek Pot Roast, which were both AMAZING! The Sea Scallop dish had avocado, corn salsa, grapefruit, and Asian-style bits of crispy pork. The scallops were like butter and worked so well with the other elements. The Beef Cheek Pot Roast was so rich and decadent, and the mix of roasted veggies were delicious. The portions there are great in the sense that they are not over-the-top, and didn't leave us uncomfortably full - but just right. Our dishes were cooked to perfection (seriously, it was the best scallop I've ever had), and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Also - the hotel the restaurant is in is gorgeous, of course. Highly recommend, absolutely coming back. read more

However, when my friends and I came in for dinner, there were barely any people and the place had a strange vib. We sat down and ordered and the food ended up being really heavy and salty, and the waiter was pretentious. After all the super reviews, decided to check this place out. We came here on a Saturday at 2pm. I asked the host what he recommends and he told me the ribs. Well, when we were seated we were given the brunch menu. A couple of breakfast items and a few lunch items. No ribs. I asked if we could get a lunch menu and the waiter apologized and said lunch inst available. I had thier Chicken Sandwich and my wife had a chopped salad. The chopped salad looked like something that you would get at a Carls Jr. It was "nice enough" looking, but not a $20 brunch salad. The Chicken sandwich - uninspired. As someone who comes from Los Angeles where Chicken Sandwiches are all the rage, dont waste you time. Its a fried breast with some pickle slices and a huge bun so you can only taste the bread. My chicken breast was overcooked (read:burned), so I could taste the char on it as well. It comes with honey-mustard sauce. What the heck? Sweet honey mustard, sour pickles, and an un-spiced chicken breast on a brioche bun? Get it together guys! Service was actually very good, and decor was nice enough. The room itself is SUPER LOUD. Music on the speakers is just way too high and because of the acoustics of the room you hear every conversation too. Skip this place and take your business somewhere else. read more

I look forward to eating at Finch & Fork every time I visit Santa Barbara. I recently brought my mother for her birthday and she loved it too! Having both worked in the hospitality industry, we appreciate their attention to detail and the quality of service and food. The friendly hostess greeted us immediately and invited us to wait at the bar while the dining room was set. Both bartenders were attentive and made great recommendations. We ordered the Witch's Back from their craft cocktail list and the Last Word at the bartenders suggestion- both were great! Our experience in the dining room was equally enjoyable. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. My mother and I shared fresh oysters, beet and burrata toast, and the scallops. Everything was excellent and wonderfully fresh. We will definitely be back! Oh, and if you're ever there for lunch, do yourself a favor and order the Ahi tuna banh mi, you'll be glad you did! read more

The wife and I had dinner this evening. To start, I thought the service was excellent. The table we were seated at was uneven and wobbly. No big deal, we have all been there right? They had three people including our server working on the solution which was fixed quickly. The server was great, even when things were not right he made sure the manager was informed and they both checked on our table. They get only three stars for for two a reasons. The first is the wine list. They have a nice selection of local wines, but at three time the winery cost!!! Much higher markup than I would expect for a local wine at a local restaurant. Second, I ordered the rib eye steak at about $30.00. I dunno, I guess I am old school. But when I order a rib eye I am expecting a nice thick steak. This was a petite rib eye that was thinner than my pinkie finger. I expected a pop of flavor from the advertised chimichuri sauce, but it was absent. Great for steak n eggs, but not for dinner.
