But regardless, the pizza was fantastic. My daughter said, "mom!! Let's make this our pizza place!" The blackberry mojito (1/2 sweet) was delicious and I'll for sure ask for that again (and pray it's made the same way as this drink was fantastic!) The restaurant is clean. A revolving door of guests. Really really great place! And the bathrooms are clean- which we all know is of utmost importance. While eating with my large family, I had a piece of steak become lodged in my throat. It was a terrifying emergency, and the staff immediately sprang into action once they noticed what was happening. They called 911 while an off-duty EMT who happened to be there attempted the Heimlich maneuver to try to dislodge the steak. Although it could not be dislodged at the restaurant, their fast response ensured that emergency services were already on their way, and I was transported by ambulance for medical treatment. In the middle of all the chaos, they showed an incredible amount of kindness by putting our entire party's meal on the house. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to my family during such a stressful and emotional moment. It's easy to review a restaurant based on the food, but today I'm reviewing the people. The care, compassion, and humanity the Applebee's team showed us is something I'll never forget. Thank you to every employee who helped, to the off-duty EMT who stepped in to assist, and to everyone who made sure my family was cared for during such a traumatic experience. With Google's help, I discovered T's Country Market and Deli in Glasgow, KY. T's looks like it was once a gas station and general store that has been converted into a local eatery. I ordered a Bacon cheeseburger deluxe with onions, lettuce, American cheese, pickles, mustard, and ketchup. The veggies were fresh and thick cut on a soft bun out of a bag, with a proper amount of ketchup and mustard. The burger was thick, maybe 1/3 lb.; it was juicy in the middle but a little dry outside. The burger was a little plain and needed some seasoning but the cheese and bacon added a salty flavor. The bacon was chewy with a little crunch. I am a Chuck Wagon fan, so I had one of those too. It is served plain on a bun. The bun was fresh from a bag; the chuck wagon had a thin batter and was crunchy with some salt. It was probably frozen, but it cooked up nicely. Pro tip, I like mine with Cole slaw and ketchup. The coleslaw was cut up very fine and relatively sweet, but very soupy with a lot of liquid. Once added to the chuck wagon, it made for a great bite, with the ketchup cutting through the sweetness. My fiancé had the Grilled Cheese and Tater Tots. The tots are out of a bag but fried to a crunchy golden brown and seasoned well. The sandwich had American cheese and needed just a little longer on the flat top. It was slightly soft in places but they did use butter with excellent salt content. T's is a small roadside joint that offers burgers, sandwiches, plate lunches, and breakfast. The staff was super friendly, and the food came out quickly. The Fat Man says T's Country Market and Deli is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.

7/31/24 TL;DR…read moreI would rate this coffee shop 5/5 stars. The King's Café is a fun little coffee shop in downtown Glasgow, with a nicely sized coffee menu, with other drink options as well. They feature a few different espresso options, with a multitude of latte flavors; and smoothie options as well. Before I continue, I'd like to point out that I am a barista at my local coffee shop where I live. That being said, I am by no means a coffee expert. I do, however have good knowledge of coffee, espresso, milk steaming, and the like. (Background) I came to The King's Café with my dad in July of 2024, hoping to try something new and interesting. Additionally, I wanted to try their cappuccino, to see how different coffee shops make it. We ended up not trying any bakery item, so I'm the future I will edit my review to include them. My brother has also been to this coffee shop before I did, giving me his input as well. (Friendliness) The barista at the bar was very kind and helpful, and when I asked what he suggests, he was open to answer my questions. He also seemed enthusiastic about his job, engaging in conversation with customers. (Coffee) I ordered a cappuccino and a Caramel Apple latte (I can't remember the exact name of the drink-it was a seasonal beverage, maybe called the Pink Lady[??], I've forgotten). The Caramel Apple latte was an interesting combination of flavors, with the apple flavor overpowering the caramel by just a little, which I didn't mind all too much. The cappuccino was a little different than I had expected. A traditional cappuccino is made in 12oz or 6oz cup, served as a 1/3-ish ratio of espresso, milk, and foam. When I ordered my cappuccino, the barista gave me the option of a 16oz or 20oz- a little bit different than a traditional cappuccino. Additionally, there wasn't any latte art on the top of my cappuccino, which isn't really a big deal to me, but I know that some people can be picky. SIDE NOTE: A previous negative review said that the espresso shots that they pour are 10 seconds, which is way off from a perfect 27 second shot. I asked the barista at the bar, and he poured me a shot of espresso, to test my theory. the shot that he poured was 34 seconds, which is *technically* a bit long, but still a very good, and servable shot. (Smoothies) My dad ordered a strawberry smoothie, which is one of the many different fruits that they have available for smoothies. When he took a sip of it, however, he pointed out that it was quite grainy. Which he concluded could be attributed to the use of access ice, or the use of refrozen strawberries. Again, it wasn't a terribly big deal, but it is good to know for the future. When my brother went to this coffee shop and few weeks before I did, he pointed out that they have protein powder available to add to your smoothies, which is a nice addition, considering many coffee shops don't have that option. (Atmosphere) The atmosphere of The King's Café is very chill and relaxed, with classic music playing at a reasonable volume over some speakers. Additionally, they uphold a chill, Elvis Presley vibe, with fun paintings of him, vinyl records, and music playing devices decorating the café. The place seemed nice and clean, with the bathrooms, dining room, and bar area cleaned regularly. To conclude my review, The King's Café is a chill, relaxing environment to grab a coffee or smoothie at. After further review, I rate this place 5/5 stars, and I would definitely recommend! Really, really bad coffee in a charming and otherwise pleasant environment…read more Shots were poured too fast (only 10 seconds!) and we're allowed to sit for nearly 20 seconds before being incorporated into the drink, resulting in bitter, weak coffee flavor. (Shots should take 18-22 seconds to pour, with a rich golden crema on top, if the grind is adjusted properly, and need to be incorporated with milk immediately to retain the delicate sugars in espresso.) This was covered up by a gut-punch of sugary syrup (I ordered a vanilla breve). I threw the drink out after a couple sips. Sad, because the place is fun and inviting (Elvis-themed, dark and woody) and the service is friendly. If the staff was well trained in professional espresso service, this funky down-trodden little town wouldn't know what hit it! There's no good coffee here. The best in town is Fine Arts Bistro, and it's only good depending on the person making it. If anyone actually figures out how to make good coffee consistently here in this charming, working-class town, I think the locals will beat a path to them and make them profitable. As of this review, there is no such place in the Glasgow area. Not recommended, just yet.
