Second time here. It was not pleasant and relaxing at all. Gone are the offers of tea and even polite greeting. Located in a run down parking lot, this was an unpleasant experience from the minute we stepped in the door. I thought they were great a few years ago but this was nothing like our previous visit. The color selection is in a pile of little baskets on a card table by the door. They seem to snap orders to their customers and a snap on the leg to get in and out of the water tub. Believe me, no one responds well to this. Never do that again! They are busy chatting/ snapping with each other. It's like you are bothering them for a pedicure. We won't make this mistake again. Paying is an awkward nightmare. The sign at the door says they take visa. At the counter to pay is another sign that the tip has to be in cash. Also, you get a $2.00 discount if you pay cash. They have a ATM (surprise) so you can use cash. Okay, with $20's in hand, in the middle of the salon, I paid and had to ask for cash back. She doubled checked with me and no, I'm not giving 40% tips. With everyone watching, she took a while to get change. I'm starting to feel lightheaded from the heat and fumes. The fumes were terrible. Why is that allowed? The nail salon experience that used to be so pleasant has turned into a miserable chore. If anyone knows of a nail salon that graciously accepts credit cards and doesn't smell like a toxic waste site, please let everyone know. With so many nail salons in the area, you'd think some of them would step up and offer and pleasant experience. Will never return. Very accommodating for two last minute pedicure appointments. We went over and had a very relaxing time. We were offered hot green tea to start the relaxation process. The tubs are lined, so everything is immaculate. Lemon in the nice warm water. Orange scrub and message. We loved it. I liked everything here. The ladies are so nice and they are just focused on the task at hand. She didn't even apologize for over-sanding my cuticles, and instead tried to blame it on me by saying that it was my "dry cuticles" that caused that to happen...whatt?? This review is for a dip manicure I just got from this place. As many others here, I used to love this salon and would go out of my way to come here for my nails. However, it seems that the quality of service has taken a nosedive in the last few months. The male nail technician that worked on me today took nearly 2 hours to do absolutely subpar work and seemed very inexperienced in dip manicures. I really don't appreciate being someone's guinea pig while they're still learning the basics. Not only did I leave with sloppy and uneven nails but he also gave me a deep cut while trying to file my pinky and took no steps to disinfect or clean the area. She was also really rough with her pedicure and I think my bridesmaid wanted her toe nails to be cut a little and the lady insisted on just trimming, to which my bridesmaid, also just nodded yes to. My bridesmaid didn't tell me about her experience until after we were done and after I've already paid, otherwise, I would've said something. I also didn't get a hand massage with my manicure during my last visit but I didn't say anything because I was just trying to have a good time, it was the day before the wedding after all! This is not the level of service and quality that I've experienced here in the past, but after all the mishaps that has happened during my last 2 visits here, I'm not sure that I'd come here again... what happened!? read more

The nail ladies do an so-so job. Every time I've had my nails done they are always so pushy about choosing a color, seems that's all they know in English. I usually tip and mos def do not have a problem doing so...but when I asked how much, she said $17 (for a regular manicure--- I was shocked since I didn't get a color color...) I handed her a $20 and she said, 'thank you.' I waited as my nails dried-- she never came back with change and just kept it. I mean like really? Hot & new! This place is centrally located on Lafayette & Benton near SAnta Clara University. Gorgeous, fresh & new interior. I came here for eye brow wax and they did a great job- left my eyebrows exactly how I wanted them. Then I came back to do manicure- let me just say I never do manicures because my nails grow too fast but I am so glad I did it! I loved that they didn't file my nails down with electric filer - only a regular file (electric makes your nails thin). I also choose a color that was too light so they right away suggested a new gorgeous color and changed it free of charge. Oh, and did I mention they have a 15% off all services for grand opening?! Made an appointment here with two friends. I had my appointment with Mai and she was working on someone else's nails for a while before she got to me. That's why I'm giving them a 4/5, because even though I had an appointment set, they didn't get to working on me until 45 minutes after my appointment time. I was a little annoyed but the service made up for it. As this was only my second acrylic experience and my first one was pretty bad, Mai made sure to spend extra time on me. She constantly checked in and asked if I liked the length, shape and color of the nail. Also, she took her time when making sure the lengths of each nail on each hand were the same. I got the regular nail polish with acrylics and they lasted about 2 weeks long before getting gross. The top coat started molding into the nail color and becoming darker and darker and forming small bubbles. I don't know if it was the top coats fault or the wear and tear. I decided to remove the color myself and repaint white after 3 weeks bc I couldn't bare to get them removed yet. I plan to make an appointment to soak them off this Friday. This is my favorite nail salon by far. I go to Santa Clara University so it's within walking distance during the school year; however, I still make the 30 minute drive down here in the summer when I'm not at school because of how loyal I am to the staff here. The salon is new and very clean, which is very important to me. Their basic pedicure includes a lot (scented scrub, mouisturizer, massage, hot stone) for only $23! All of the staff does a great job with pedicures as well. They take their time and I've never been accidetally cut by anyone. For my acrylic fills I always request Van or Mai. They do an amazing job every time and are always very accomodating. As long as you are clear with what you want, the nail technicians here will give you it. The prices are also reasonable and I would pay to get the quality nails and service here over going somewhere a few dollars cheaper. Also make sure that you make an appointment before coming because they get very busy in the afternoon/evenings and weekends. read more

The ladies over committed as when we walked in there were customers sitting on the couch and filled the pedi spas. Wondering if our appointments were going to be fulfilled on time, they sat us down at the nail stations. While my cousin was able to get her nails done I was left sitting at the nail station while the lady who was to serve me started on a pedi for another customer. Frustrated I declined service, it required some complaining and for the lady who was doing my cousins nails to call her back to me. The place is super clean (a huge plus for me) and the pedi chairs were new and gorgeous. They are massage chairs so that is also great. I came in just over two weeks ago and Tran did an incredible job with my nails! She did a perfect job and the best part was how gentle she was with my naturally long nails. Instead of scraping off my old gel and hurting my nails, she gently filed it off with the electric file. No one has ever done that for me and it was so much better than usual. Her response was, " I know I'm sorry, that's just how it goes..". As she continued to do my nails, she kept going over the area that hurt. I asked her if she could give me a discount since she cut me and continuously kept hurting me. She then got very angry and said that she never cut me and that I came in with that cut. Lol. No. I didn't. I kept telling her how I did not and that she did indeed cut me. She said she never cut my cuticles when she partially did. I asked if I could talk to her manager which she pointed to but the manager never even came. I asked the lady to just finish my nails as I wanted to leave. I never got a discount. Oh yea, I also mentioned how I thought it was unsanitary that they contionsly use products on other customers after cutting someone. Woman looked at me like I was crazy. For 11/20/17 1. I came here to get my nails done for my birthday. I made an appointment for a gel manicure for 2pm. I arrived 15 mins early and they took me right away, no wait. 2. $25 for a gel manicure and they have so many colors to choose from. Chromes and mood changing, seriously anything your heart desires. I always get nude nails and was kind of bummed because the color I picked didn't 100% match the swatch. The swatch was more nude, but on my nails, the color was more baby pink. 3. I love that they don't reuse nail files. They use a different set of tools for each customer. The tools are sanitized and come in the paper/plastic sleeves that dentists use. 4. My lady filed and shaped my nails so nicely. I have never had a nail tech pay that much care and attention to my nail shape. She made me check after each hand. When working on my cuticles, she did snip my skin. I didn't notice until I left because my finger stung a bit and it was more red than my other fingers. That's the only reason for the -1 star. 5. I love how spacious this place is. It's super clean and I feel like I can actually relax here. 6. There's a small lot, but a lot of street parking in the neighborhood. 7. This nail salon is hidden close to the Santa Clara state university! I found this little place on yelp and thought I'd give it a try. As soon as I walked in I was able to get my nails done by a technician name Tran or I believe tram. She was helping me out and at first I wasn't fond of her because her mannerisms were kind of rude at first, but she started warming up to me and started to become nicer, but to be honest the first 10 minutes I really felt uncomfortable and regretted getting my nails done because my hand was just getting pulled here and there and she was kind of being mean so I became depressed and sad and that's easy for me because I've always dealt with anxiety. So her interaction with me shut me down and my guard was up.
