Fino was a winner from our first visit 15 years ago. We've always enjoyed some great Italian and seafood dinners here. We try to make it here once a year for an our treating from our favorite waiter, Charles. He now knows us so well, he knows we always start off with Caesar salads with acciughe in olio di oliva (dark anchovies). I must say we were getting a little tired of the same old menu BUT they now have a specials menu. I ordered the Blistecca con Fungai e Pancetta, this was a fantastic steak. My Valentine ordered the Ravioli con Tagliola e Speck, great Alaskan halibut with raviolis. For us, it's worth the 70 mile drive for excellant service and outstanding meals.

I'd like to thank the staff for a wonderful evening. We got a late evening reservation and got to sit at a sweet table right off the bar with a view of the kitchen. We watched the staff work in total harmony which was incredible. Now let's talk about the food, absolute perfection. I'll let the photos speak to the food. But truly so delicious and truly beautiful. Thank you Fino.

If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would. Fino was exceptional from start to finish. Our server, Charles, was outstanding ~ truly an example of impeccable service. He offered fantastic suggestions from both the menu and the wine list, and every recommendation hit the mark. The ambiance is beautiful and cozy, the kind of place where you immediately relax and know you're in good hands. The food was incredible ~ rich, layered flavors... truly a chef's kiss meal. All four of us left completely thrilled with our experience. Highly, highly recommend. And if you go, ask for Charles.

We decided to try Fino Restaurante, since we were in the area and it's been bookmarked quite some time. It's a fancy restaurant with white table cloth and is connected to the Andrews Hotel. ***OUR PICKS*** GNOCCHI CON SALMONE ~ the gnocchi was mushy and the salmon had no flavor or seasoning. It just tasted like fish. It needed some salt or something. Vegetables did not complement the dish nor did it add any flavor. Quite disappointing when this dish is $44. 2/5 GAMBERI RIGATONI ALLA VODKA ~ another bland pasta dish. It seems the chef forgot to season the food? Unless all customers must season their own dishes with salt and pepper at the table? The sauce lacked depth and seasoning. 2/5 MARGHERITE (PIZZA) ~ average pizza. Crunchy crust, plain tomato sauce and mozzarella with some basil. 3/5 They added a mandate charge to our bill to add insult to injury. I'm truly amazed at the many 5 star reviews. We spent over $100 for underwhelming food. Sadly, we won't be back.

This is a small Italian restaurant located on the ground floor of the Andrew's hotel in SF. The food is excellent. We had the Fino salad which was fresh and not overdressed. The scallops were perfectly prepared. The minestrone soup was very large and flavorful. The pastas with red sauce were delicious. My daughter found the pesto rice rather bland and under seasoned. The desserts were spectacular and works of art. I highly recommend the chocolate lava cake or the Zabaglione. Both are sensational. They have an excellent children's menu as well. It's best to order their wine instead of the cocktails. Cocktails were not their strong suit.

I cannot recommend this place enough!! First off, the service was awesome! The waiter was very attentive and provided good recommendations. My friend and I split a dish and the kitchen made sure to bring it split for the two of us. I very much enjoyed all the food I had as well. The complimentary bread with a balsamic/oil garlic mix was very good. I shared the Ravioli Tre Formaggio with a friend and the portion size was great. The sauce was very warm and soupy. The molten lava cake was the cherry on top. Warm gooey chocolate mixed with vanilla bean option make the best combination.

Visited a Tuesday evening with a friend and there were a decent amount of tables opened. It's important to note that, the restaurant area is inside a hotel and on the smaller side. We were able to get a table immediately. The service was AMAZING! My friend and I ordered a pizza and a pasta to share, and the server (without any requests) split the pasta in two plates and brought two additional plates for the pizza. Between the pizza and the pasta, I would rank the pizza top. It was very flavorful and perfectly cooked (both the dough and the veggies). The pasta sauce I felt was a bit bland and the actual linguine a bit over cooked. The seafood was cooked well, but again lacked a bit of flavor. The dessert though, was amazing, perfectly sweet! Overall, would revisit the spot and try other plates, mainly because of their great service. Important to keep in mind this restaurant is on the pricier side!

Went here to celebrate my friend's 28th birthday and loved the food. They have ample vegetarian options on the menu (as they can make all the non vegetarian pastas vegetarian) I loved their fettuccine mushroom red sauce pasta (subbed the prosciutto) - It was flavorful, creamy and yummy, the pasta soaked up the sauce very well and quarter-cut mushrooms tasted great. We also ordered the pesto tortellini, which was very mild on pesto, and that felt very light and tasty. I was not a fan of their vegetarian pizza, even after substituting Gorgonzola, but I was super stuffed with the pastas. For appetizers, we got fries (truffle) and bruschetta - which was loaded with artichoke if you're a fan. The servers were super nice and accommodating; although the service was a bit slow, we had a great time. I would suggest making a reservation in advance for bigger groups as they have limited big tables. In the end, we also ordered the chocolate cake and tiramisu and I loved every bit of the chocolate cake served with vanilla bean ice cream. We all devoured it. Definitely recommend trying the pasta here as they can make any pasta vegetarian.

Came here on a Tuesday night with a friend with a reservation. This restaurant can be accessed by entering through the hotel and walking through the lobby. This place is very classy and nice (white tablecloths, elegant bar, etc.), but there did not seem to be a strict dress code. The waiters were very kind and checked in on us often. We shared the Linguini Frutti Di Mare, the Luisa Pizza, and the Chocolate Fino for dessert. I really appreciated how when we mentioned we were going to share the pasta, they served it to us pre-portioned onto two plates. Very considerate. Linguini Frutti Di Mare: 4/5, lots of seafood and the pasta was perfectly al dente. I really loved the mussels especially. Good amount of sauce too without detracting from the seafood flavor. Luisa Pizza: 4/5, very tasty from the tomatoes and mushrooms and very cheesy. The size was perfect for sharing for 2 people. Chocolate Fino: 5/5, delicious fluffy texture with a good chocolate flavor that was not overly sweet. The jam added a nice earnest, and the caramel topping is so pretty. A nice place to have an upscale dinner. A good restaurant to take your parents to!

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a warm feeling about it. Ambience is nice I was disappointed with the food. I had Caesar salad and their chicken Parmesan. The food really lacks flavor. Good, not great. I was expecting more.

Cozy restaurant with piping hot pasta and chilled salads. Called ahead on a Sunday night and was able to get a seat within 30 minutes. The service was good given how busy they are with a full restaurant. Very cozy interior. We ordered the sourdough bread and arugula salad to start. The olive dip that the bread came with was great - very flavorful. The arugula salad was good but nothing special. We ordered the gancheri rigatoni vodka which was also very good but lacked a little bit of flavor for me. The fettuccine with prosciutto and funghi was awesome but was very salty - ended up basically mixing the two pastas to get a happy medium. Overall, a great dining experience.

Absolutely amazing experience at Fino Ristorante. We were lucky to stumble in on a tame Friday night, so we were sat quickly. Charles was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Gamberi con Rigatoni alla Vodka and my friend ordered the Capesante Arrabiata. Both dishes were absolutely dashing. They make all their pasta in house and the taste reflects it. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a tasty Italian spot in San Francisco!

While in town for business, I decided to "hunt" for an Italian restaurant that makes their own gluten free pasta. I found one, and the pasta was incredible. I ordered the Capesante with the fresh spinach fettuccine, and it was honestly one of the best gluten free pasta dishes I have ever had. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the pasta itself tasted like real, homemade pasta, not the usual GF texture. The atmosphere was upscale and polished, yet still comfortable and refined. The decor was tasteful, the music was nice, and it felt like the kind of place that would make a great date spot. I also had excellent service. My server, José, took great care of me and made the experience even better. I got their seasonal mocktail called Spice Spice Baby, which was super flavorful and not overly sweet. For dessert, I tried the Chocolate Fino, a house specialty, which is a decadent chocolate mousse, and it was delicious, rich, smooth, and the perfect way to end the meal. If you are gluten free or just want amazing Italian food in general, this place is definitely worth going to.

Does anyone know the recipe for the dipping sauce? I have literally been craving this since we were there in February!
