Me, my husband, and 2 of our friends came on a Monday for the "Monday is for Lovers" deal - $60 (CASH ONLY) for two appetizers, one entrée, one dessert, and a bottle of wine. Each couple did the deal and it was a perfect amount of food! You really can't find anywhere with this great of a deal - such a bang for your buck. We ordered the spicy caesar, cauliflower arancini, meatballs, and semolina garlic bread with sauce for the appetizers. I think the cauliflower arancini was my favorite out of the 4! It came out so fresh and the parmesan and marinara dips went perfectly with it. SO GOOD! For the main we did the rigatoni bolo bianco and chicken parm. Both were so good - I think the chicken parm might've been my favorite out of the two. The chicken was so flavorful. We ordered the house white for the wine, which went perfectly with our meal. It was light and refreshing. The meal ended with a peaches and creme panna cotta with some bread crumbs on top. SO DELICIOUS! Our waiter was amazing - it was our first time and he pretty much gave us the rundown on what he would get for first timers doing the Monday is for Lovers deal, which we ended up doing just that. He was so attentive and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was so cool, it felt like NY vibes in there - I loved it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This will definitely be a spot I'll take friends who are visiting out of town. Overall, I had a great experience!

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and Emmy's Spaghetti Shack absolutely delivered! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a group of 22 people, and they were so accommodating from start to finish. They reserved a private covered patio area for us, and it ended up being the perfect space for such a big group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The heated lamps nearby kept everyone comfortable, and we ended up hanging out for about three hours without ever feeling rushed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We decided to do family-style, which was the best way to experience the menu since we got to try a little bit of everything. My favorite was the chicken parmesan--honestly, it was the pasta that won me over. The sauce and pasta were so flavorful, and they paired perfectly with the crispy chicken. I also ordered the rotating boozy slushie, which happened to be a piña colada, and it was refreshing and delicious. Meanwhile, the other table kept ordering the mystery shots, which made the birthday dinner even more fun. The service was excellent, especially with a party of 22. The staff was friendly, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was lively, and they even have a cute little photo booth that was a fun touch for our group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The portions are huge, the prices are very reasonable, and the overall experience was great. I'd definitely recommend Emmy's Spaghetti Shack if you're planning a group dinner or celebrating a special occasion!

There were five of us celebrating our daughter's birthday. We all had something different. Spaghetti and meatballs, their awesome lasagna, chicken parmesan another dish that I don't remember, and I had the eggplant parmesan. Best EP I have ever had - crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. All the sauces were delicious! The place was PACKED on a Friday night, but our waiter was very attentive! And minimal wait for food. Emmy's waiter immediately asked if there were any food allergies. Drinks there have a fun flare - or you can go traditional. It is definitely a happening spot in the City!

Chicken Parm was delicious. A little spicy, but still cleaned my plate!

Always a good time here. Been since the original owners. Came in a few weeks ago, and the place is still a vibe. We were seated outside and the weather was great. AND the Food 10/10

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot is so fun and really just incredible overall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Recently a few friends and I made reservations ahead of time for a Saturday evening table inside for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was full of life, excitement, and impeccable vibes..essentially it checked every box we were looking for.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also ironically, we were seated by a shrine of Dolly Parton (what our bachelorette theme was). The service was amazing and we loved everyone that came to our table to make our party feel so special. Special shoutout to the cocktail menu (my cocktail had a piece of parm on top!), and food-wise we def had a great assortment: prosciutto zeppole, semolina garlic bread, spicy Caesar, shrimp scampi toast, meatballs, and spicy vodka fusilli + stracciatella. We feasted! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I believe there is also an outdoor area and late night weekend menu including meatball and chicken parm subs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sunday brunch is a thing too, just not sure if it's every weekend. All in all, take a ride share, grab a babysitter, and enjoy the surrounding area of the Mission/Bernal Heights. If waiting for a table, pop over to the Royal Cuckoo for their red margarita. For our friend whose name is actually Emmy, she also approved tenfold. Delish and such a breath of fresh air for the Bay Area foodies looking for something uniquely special.

Came in for the Monday deal! It's 2 apps, 1 entree, 1 dessert and 1 bottle of wine for $60 cash only. We got the spicy caesar, grandma's meatballs, the pasta bianco and a panna cotta. Also got the bottle of red. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes are very dive bar-y but I love it! Had a lot of character and the service was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Spicy caesar wasn't spicy but that works out for me because I can't do much spice and it was just a good caesar. Grandma's meatballs came with 3 large meatballs and they were very tender. I got the pasta bianco because it was the most unique sounding and honestly was delicious, the pasta was al dente. Our server also told us the wine is made for them and a server designed the wine bottle label which is super unique and pretty decent wine! Overall had a great time, I could tell they were rushing us out a bit at the end. Would come back for the deal!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place has the cutest little menus and labels on the wine. Everything is hand drawn by one of the workers![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came here for the $60 meal deal, it's cash only but they have an ATM if needed. It comes with two appetizers, one entree, one dessert and one bottle of wine. We chose the chopped salad and the buffalo wings as our appetizers. The buffalo wings were regular and not too spicy, however my partner did enjoy it. The salad was very acidic which was not what I expected. I personally did not like it and neither did my partner. The lasagna was pretty good. It was covered in sauce, ricotta, and pesto. I wish there was a little bit more meat in the lasagna. The pancotta was the favorite. It was very silky and smooth. The strawberry lemon syrup was a good pairing! The server we had was amazing. She was super sweet and knowledgeable. She made our experience. All in all, the food here is ok, but the service and small details were excellent.

My friend introduced me to this spot in Bernal Heights and [[HIGHLIGHT]]it wasn't too crowded on a Friday evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is dim with mood lighting, and there a lot of Italian classics on the menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the spicy caesar (which had a nice anchovy kick) and the spaghetti with grandma meatballs. The meatballs were definitely the best thing on the menu -- had a lot of flavor and the pine nuts added nice flavor/texture. The spaghetti was good but nothing crazy (my expectations were maybe too high given the name). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Would classify this place as more of a cozy eats spot than super trendy, but it was refreshing given all the gazillion trendy Instagram hyped spots in the city.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I'm in the area would come back again for a meal!

Emmy's Spaghetti Shack was...amazing. Like my friends and I were either relishing our food in complete silence or talking about how impressed we were at each dish. The Monday night $60 meal deal was, in fact, a steal. recs: spaghetti and meatballs, cadillac lasagna, buffalo wings, strawberry panna cotta (ok basically everything) price: ~$30/person - Buffalo Wings: The first buffalo wings I've had that were grilled instead of sauced up. The sauce on the side was deliciously creamy and paired really well with the dry spice on the wing. Absolutely delicious! - Caesar Salad: Each lettuce leaf was well-dressed with grated parmesan, breadcrumbs, and dressing. Super easy to share, and every bite was delicious. - Garlic Bread: Cheesy, straightforward garlic bread served with marinara sauce. If you're able to hold onto some of the bread, it is amazing with the lasagna vodka sauce. - Grandma's Meatballs: My friend prides himself in his meatball recipe and really loved these. They hold their shape and have a great texture -- definitely a recipe that's been perfected after over two decades. - Emmy's Spaghetti and Meatballs: We all loved this one. The flavor is very well-balanced, and the sauce sticks to the noodles so perfectly that there's hardly anything left on the plate to clean up. We were impressed that this pasta dish didn't leave us feeling super heavy afterwards. And also, more meatballs to enjoy if you ran out of the appetizers. - Cadillac Lasagna: A dish I don't think I can order anywhere else -- this is an al-dente (!) lasagna bathed in vodka sauce, pesto, and ricotta. The texture of the lasagna pairs so well with the soft creaminess of the ricotta and the vodka sauce. My personal favorite of the night! - Strawberry Panna Cotta: Unsure if this was on the menu, but it was a part of the Monday meal deal. This was one of the best panna cottas I've ever had and beats anything I've ever made. Sweet, but not too sweet, and never boring, even on your fifth bite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was vibey, the place was packed, and servers were friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We loved this so much that we immediately booked another reservation lol. So yes, we'll definitely be back!

We were able to make a same day reservation for Tuesday night just a few hours prior. We walked in and the host was able to sit us immediately. The food itself was good and portions were big! The grandma's meatballs were also worth the $1 upgrade with the spaghetti and meatballs dish. We also ordered the cauliflower arancini and the rigatoni bolo bianco. Everything was super filling so we even had leftovers! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was super cute and the real star of the show was a $5 photobooth at the back of the restaurant![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend:)

Went to Emmy's for their Monday $60 deal and thought it would be a great addition to weekday deals! For $60 (cash only fyi) you'll get two appetizers, one main, dessert & bottle of wine! Basically the dessert and wine are free :) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Vibes were very charming with lots of decor, reddish lighting & cozy atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wait was as expected as host stated near an hour without reservation but it lowkey felt like we were waiting for parties without reservations because their name was on the waitlist and they were waiting for those parties to arrive. Got seated at the bar which I don't mind but I felt like there was little to no interaction from the staff. It was up to the point that we just wanted to pay and leave because the lack of service prolonged our visit. Because the kitchen steps away from the bar, we can see orders piling up and it questionably took us 20minutes to receive our spaghetti. They usually offer complementary bread but I guess they ran out for the night :/ Onto the food!! Emmys spaghetti: 4/5, portion size was okay and meatballs definitely tasted fresh in house but there wasn't really much of a wow factor with the spaghetti itself, sauce was delicious to carry it overall. Spicey caesar salad 100/5: this was actually the star of the show... it tasted like an authentic Caesar salad wowwww. Side of meatballs: not a bad as a side as they use a different tomato base sauce, wish there was bread to soak up the saucy goodness. Overall, probably won't be back for a while but it's a deal worth scratching off the bucket list.

Although Emmy's has been around 25 years, we visited for the first time on a recent rainy Friday night. We didn't realize they accept reservations and were put on a waitlist. We had some drinks a few doors down at the Cuckoo Club and were finally seated 45 minutes later. We were seated at the bar/counter, which was a little strange because the bartender was making drinks directly in front of us and was not very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is dark with a red glow in the bar, with Xmas string lights throughout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband had the "Nona" spaghetti and meatballs ($25) and thought they were pretty good, and I had the tasty 5 layer Cadillac lasagna which was a little al dente. It included Pork + Beef Ragu, Beschamel, Pecorino, Vodka Sauce, Dollop of Ricotta and Sunflower Seed Pesto Drizzle ($26), served in a pasta bowl. We also split a spicy Caesar salad salad ($14) which was quite good and a bottle of red wine ($50), which decent tasting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If we go again, we will definitely make a reservation and perhaps bring a group as it's very fun atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the back they have a private small room that is just beyond where two pinball machines are. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The wait staff was friendly, but it's more for young hipsters than 60 year olds like ourselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking can be difficult.

Ordered via delivery. Tasty spaghetti with meatballs and the Bolo Bianci is good too. Sometimes you just want some tasty carbs with lots of sauce. Funky retro vibes, tasty food and convenient. Located on Mission and Valencia.

It was $15 for competitors to participate and $5 for attendees to sample all of the chilis and cast a People's Choice vote. There were only seven competitors, but the helpings were large cups, so we were stuffed from all the chili goodness by late afternoon. Live country music played in the background, and both the indoor space and outdoor patio were lovely and created an inviting setting. There were giant TV screens inside too, playing the fifa world cup while we were there. We had a couple beers and the ten forward cocktail off the menu, which had a light and fruity flavor I enjoyed. Came here with my partner and the waitress only wanted to approach me, and was not nice to my partner at all. When he was mid sentence ordering his drink, she cut him off and demanded to see his ID. ( mind you...it is also his bday...) A while later, we decided to get another round and he raised his hand hoping to get her attention. I completely understand that being a server is hectic and very stressful, but a little acknowledgment when you see your table asking for you should be bare minimum. She completely ignored him multiple times. When she finally came to our table and bluntly said to him " I see you okay. I'm doing other things but I see you. " she only wanted to speak with me when ordering also....which I found kind of weird. She is also not the nicest to the table next to us also, so at least it's not targeted. But aside from that, drinks and small bites are pretty standard for a cocktail bar. Nothing too special, but a good place to try with friends. The service mostly ruined it for us that night.

Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

I've been coming to Arcana since pre-COVID, usually after work hours, and it has always been one of…read moremy favorite spots in SF. I love how unique the space feels. It's the perfect mix of a plant shop and wine bar, which gives it such a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Atmosphere The space has such a cool vibe with all the greenery, warm lighting, and eclectic décor. During the day, it feels like a beautiful plant shop where you can relax with a glass of wine, but at night it transforms into something completely different. I recently stopped by for a night visit and there was a DJ playing, and the whole place had such a fun, lively energy. It honestly didn't even feel like the same daytime spot, in the best way. Also, don't forget to check out the photo booth outside! It's such a fun little addition and adds to the overall Arcana experience and vibes. What I Ordered I've had both bottles of wine to share and wine by the glass here, and I've enjoyed both. Recently, I tried an orange wine that was really good and a fun change from what I usually order. Experience What keeps bringing me back is how Arcana feels like more than just a wine bar. It's a place where you can stop by after work, catch up with friends, enjoy a great bottle, or just soak in the atmosphere. The vibe is always unique and memorable. Final Thoughts Arcana is one of those SF spots that feels special. Whether you're looking for a chill wine night or a fun evening with good music, it's definitely worth checking out. I'll keep coming back and would highly recommend it. Overall, I'd give it a 5 out of 5.

Charging the $10 event fee on discretion before the posted event start time seems... shady? illegal? My two friends got in a few minutes before with no cover. I was dealing with a bike lock while they went in. We were not there for the event but rather as volunteers from the weekly cleanup refuse crew in the Mission. You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .
