I'll admit, all the years that I've seen Delarosa and have walked past it, I've never given it a single thought, let alone a second thought, and just assumed it was some mid chain that was gonna leave me disappointed if I gave it the time of day. I'm happy to say that I was wrong. We came here for a team lunch a couple of weeks ago and ordered nothing but pizzas. I requested the spicy soppressata and loved it. It wasn't really spicy but it was really flavorful and the salami was great. We also tried the Margherita, which, while pretty standard in terms of ingredients and technique, was also tasty. One of our teammates has a gluten allergy, so she asked for the hot honey with the gluten-free crust. And while there's simply no comparison between the fluffy crust of the regular pizzas, with just the right amount of crunch, the gluten-free version wasn't bad. I was more focused on the toppings and loved the hot honey combo, which would've been doubly good on normal crust. The gluten-free crust is pretty thin, dense, and crispier than the standard crust. These guys were really busy with additional business from the conference happening nearby, but they still managed to come around semi-frequently and refill drinks and take additional orders. Everyone was super nice, too, and the pizzas came out quickly after ordering. I'd really like to come back to try some of their pastas, given how good the pizzas were, but this isn't a "go out of your way to try it" place for me. I had high hopes for the ziti for pick-up, but it tasted like it came straight from the frozen aisle at the grocery store. I've eaten frozen pasta dishes before, and it tasted exactly like it from the texture to the flavor. Even the chicken strongly resembled a frozen chicken parm dish I had. Delarosa had no coffee drinks on their menu. So we ordered pizza and drinks and I ran down the street to get my daughter a coffee. The manager then confronted us saying that their policy was no outside beverages. The manager was very unclear as to what he was requiring- were we supposed to pour out the beverage? When I told him we'd be happy to leave without getting the food we ordered, he said he'd make an exception but then repeated the policy. So two things (1) if you're going to ban "outside beverages" because you serve the same items, make sure those items actually appear on your menu and (2) it's bad policy to lecture your customers if they've made a mistake on what is on your menu (especially when it's your fault). I did not punish the server for management's mistake - they got the standard tip. But rest assured that they have lost this customer's business. read more

I decided to come check it out since I'm watching a movie at Metreon. This restaurant is a little bit hidden in the alleyway across the street from Metreon. We ordered Prosciutto Di Parma pizza $24. They also charge 5% employees health care ordinance fee. It is a 12 inches pizza very thin crust with 6 slices. It's enough for 2 women though since I was full after 3 slices and didn't have room to try the happy hour menu. The other menu items look very interesting and would love to try the pasta, another pizza, or something from the happy hour menu next time.
