    Fettuccini with Linguine Pancetta Dinner
    Marilyn H.

What a wonderful gem in this city of so many choices. One had the salmon, one had veal Parmesan and I had the linguine with pancetta, mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes . Seldom have I had such a tasty attractive meal. The waitress was kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this treat to your tastebuds!

    Tuscan Chicken Dinner

Group of 6 walked in for dinner without reservations and was able to get a table on a Saturday night. I had the Tuscan chicken which was disappointing. The chicken was overcooked and very dry and the vegetables tasted like they were steamed in a plastic bag. The polenta was ok. Service was good and the waitress was nice.

Great views of San Francisco streets. Charming old traditional Italian restaurant. The carpet is a bit too old with that old carpet smell. Server is great very personable. One of those odd restaurants with bathroom in the kitchen with one stall. Food was good, savory, worth the price.

Cesarios is a cute little Italian spot that I went to for a late lunch. The bread we got as a starter was too cold so we asked for warm bread and it was a lot better. The service was okay. The food was all plated very aesthetically. We ordered 3 main courses to share. The ravioli was really good and cooked well and had lots of sauce. The cheese on the eggplant for one of the dishes was too thick and unappetizing. For appetizer we got caprese salad and minestrone soup. The soup was very bland and I would not order it again. The veggies in it were also overcooked and mushy. For dessert we got tiramisu and limoncello mascarpone cake. Both were really good and came in good portion sizes in my opinion.

I only tried their seafood specials. I liked them. The "paella" was miles away from a real paella, but I wasn't expecting it to be authentic either, so it didn't bother me. It was somehow creamy and very tasty. Kind of an in-between risotto and paella sort of dish. They were also generous with the amount of seafood. Left the place with a good feeling in terms of the balance between prices, quality and amount of food. The ambience inside is cozy and the location of the restaurant is good, Lower Nob Hill. I will come back.

    Polenta lasagna

What a delightful dinner I enjoyed at Cesario's, a small, quaint Italian restaurant a few blocks from Union Square. I was surprised how busy it was at 6 p.m. -- glad I made a reservation, as I took the last of the dozen or so tables. The menu had several of my Italian comfort food favorites, caprese and capellini pomodoro. That was the plan, yet I opted for the polenta lasagna to pair with the caprese. I love polenta, and the variation on a traditional lasagna was too tempting to pass up. Both dishes were delicious, and I couldn't resist trying the homemade tiramisu for dessert. I enjoyed the ambience as much as the food, and the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Cesario's is definitely on my list to return to.

Stopped in after a long day of walking through San Francisco and was met with friendly, attentive service. The food was delicious--while the Caesar salad isn't pictured, it was excellent. The chicken piccata was full of flavor with perfectly cooked noodles, and the crème brûlée was divine. The wine selection was a bit mid, but the ambiance gave classic old-school Italian vibes. I'd definitely stop in again next time I'm in the city.

Didn't know this fee was included until after dinner.

The food was good overall, but the service could use some improvement. The complimentary bread wasn't brought out until I asked, even though I noticed other tables received theirs right away. I also wish the health or insurance fee had been mentioned earlier, as it was added to the amount used to calculate the tip. It would be great if this charge were explained upfront to avoid confusion.

This is my favorite spot for amazing authentic Italian food in San Francisco. They even have great gluten free options. Try the creamy tomato sauce it's divine!

Blondie, The Wife and I decided to see Union Square Macy's all decked out for Christmas, maybe for the last time? I picked Cesarios, which is a block away, because Italian is one of the few things we can agree on. I got a 4:30 reservation for three on a Saturday night, no problem. We didn't realize how small and cozy the place is. From the outside, you just feel like going in, since it has that beckoning comfort look on a chilly night. The host, an elderly gentleman, seat d has right away, and took my wine order right away. He set the tone - polite dignity. I ordered the house red Italian, which was slightly sweet, so I handed it over to Blondie to try. They liked it, so I ordered the basic chianti to replace it, which was lovely. Both were $13 for a good pour. The bread was tender, and served with butter, which I prefer to oil. The bruschetta was piled to the ceiling with tomato. The app special was a mushroom soup, with The Wife and I shared. It was outstanding, and piping hot. For dinner I had linguine vongole, which had at least 25 clams. The wife had eggplant lasagna with a side of spaghetti. Blondie had a creamy penne dish. A tureen of Parmesan was delivered with the meals. The clams was cooked perfectly, far better than the last place I had this dish last weekend. Everyone was over the moon about their food. Desserts sounded excellent, so I had cannoli, Blandie had cheesecake, and The Wife limoncello cake. I also had coffee and port, while TW had decaf cafe au lait. We finished soooo happy with our choice of restaurant. One small note - there was a flickering overhead light, which should be replaced. Other than that, it was exactly the cozy delicious spot it appeared to be from the outside. And quite reasonable too.

i've loved beretta for years, but probably will not be back for a while…read more review written by my boyfriend: "I'm going to elaborate on my review. I do want to highlight that the food was amazing. It's just that the service was abysmal. First off, we were seated quite quickly. But it took us forever to have someone take our order. We didn't even know who our server was. Probably 10-15 mins before we got someone's attention. Our server was a short woman with a brunette bob. Thankfully, she was not the one serving us the food or else the entire meal would have taken even longer (some other staff members did that promptly). Our waitress just took our order and moved food off our table (which she was quite attentive about). My major gripe were three things. First, the beginning. Second, my partner needed a lemon for her risotto. I raised my hand. My partner sees that our server walks in from outside and completely ignores my raised hand. I feel like as a server, when you enter the restaurant again from somewhere else, your immediate attention should be on the tables that you're serving. But I'll let it slide since a raised hand could be quite hard to see. However, immediately after, she goes and starts chatting up with her coworkers. This time my partner tries to raise her hand (she's actually facing the whole restaurant whereas I'm facing the back wall). She got ignored as the waitress walked right behind me to the bathroom area. Only reason we got her attention was because my partner raised her voice and said excuse me. Lastly, the one that made me decide to leave a 10% tip (usually it's 20%+) was how long it took for us to get a check. Let me pose this question: If the customer is on their last entree, ask for it to be boxed, and declines dessert, what would be the most logical follow up? She walks away and I make a bet that we're not getting our check in 5 mins. Lo and behold, we did not. We decide to ask her, but 5 mins later and still no check. So we had to ask another waitress. I entered 10% tip on her pay pad, but felt bad since she wasn't our waitress."

My favorites were: the chef's choice crudo, specially the tuna and hamachi(?). The tuna was rich and smokey in a great milky and fragrant fennel sauce. The hamachi in the root veggie wrap with a slight kick, awesome! And the scallop was good too! My boyfriend liked that one, but I thought the chip on top was over powering. My other favorite, the lamb pasta! Loved that texture. Flavor wise, savory and spicy. It was cold out and really warmed me up. Loved the experience. Our waitress was also awesome and patience. She let me try a few of the wine before settling down on a full body red that went very well with my pasta. Oh and the affogato, yum!! Exactly what we were looking for. Excited to try a lot of the dishes I saw on social media and knew it was Michelin rated.  THE FOOD: Go for the food and tolerate everything else. This food is top-notch, reflecting SF and California cuisine. It's really good and consists mostly of crudo, salad and pasta. That combination makes for a great meal without ordering too much. We started with the Amberjack Crudo - stellar with excellent fresh fish, sweetness from passionfruit, spice (a nice little red pepper) and freshness (mint) all in one bite. Great to share between 2 people.Salad: We had the Asparagus Salad - lightly cooked and cut asparagus with a great savory butter Caesar dressing. The crispy shallot made it, topped with some nice Parmigiano-Reggiano. Again - stellar.Main Pasta: Agnolotti with Roasted Corn, Hen of the Woods (mushroom) and chive - this dish rocks. So savory with the pockets of pasta filled with cheese and the sauce of mushrooms and corn are an umami and sweet touch. Bravo. Second Pasta: Mafaldine Cacio e Pepe - BOOM! My new fav pasta. The Mafaldine noodle just really makes this dish. So different, yet so perfect for holding the amazing sauce in the ruffled edges. Cooked perfectly and they seem to know how to mix the simple ingrediants in the proper fashion to create greatness in a dish. No dessert, but I do hear the Panna Cotta is quite good. SERVICE: Just ok to poor. Rotating staff at the door seemed busy helping inside and were not very attentive. There are typically lines at the door, and they seem to have a challenge seating people. We booked the bar and asked for a table since most tables were open when we arrived, but we were denied. Tables did fill up while we were there but a few were still open when we left. The bar experience was just okay; the bartender seemed overwhelmed serving us even though only half the place was full. Orders were entered late, and the service suffered.  AMBIANCE: This place could be stellar if the ambiance and design was fixed or updated. The front of the restaurant is all tables for 2 or 4 and a little cramped. The bar area is dark as a funeral home. Some of the bar seats will put you infront of a small refrigerator and the overall bar area is unappealing. Messy and unorganized. The rear of the house is probably the best. Far more lit because of a skylight and a view of the kitchen. Community table and some two and four tops sit in the area and it seems pleasant.  PARKING: Terrible. No Valet, no great street parking or parking garage options. Give yourself 20 minutes to find a space. Better yet - only take Uber.  PRICING: Reasonable. Two of us ate for $124 plus $10 tax and an $8 SF Mandate (whatever that is). We had a choice between this menu or the Tasting Menu (now up to $105 from $95) which probably would have been too much food for one person but would offer a good taste of all their food.  In Italian, "Itria" most famously refers to the Valle d'Itria (Itria Valley), a stunning, sun-drenched region in central Apulia (Puglia). The word has also gained popularity as a name for traditional, hand-made pasta derived from ancient Mediterranean roots. Itria Restaurant in SF lives up to this from a food perspective. Put up with the service, ambiance and parking - the food is worth it!
