It's classy without feeling stuffy and would be such a nice place to gather with friends, family, or even stop by for dessert after dinner. We sat at the bar and the service was wonderful! What a wonderful place to share a family meal. Great vibe. Best staff ever. So kind. Very helpful. We started with bread and lobster escargot. Delicious. The bread served with olive oil, balsamic glaze, fresh grated Parmesan and red chili flakes. Then Parpadelle, Nero Seafood, cheese and spinach ravioli. Every dish was perfect. Seasoning spot on with every dish. The seafood spaghetti was perfectly executed. I didn't try the ravioli but was assured by everyone at our table how delicious it was. We made a reservation the day before to celebrate Bastille Day. When we arrived at 5:45, the place was packed! Very fun vibes with everyone wearing cute green berets. For food, we ordered the eggplant parmesan to share, which was fine. I ordered the lasagna of short ribs as my main, which may have been one of the best lasagnas I've ever had in my life. The pasta tasted super fresh and I loved the truffle sauce the lasagna came with. My friends all agreed their pasta dishes were the stars of the show. For dessert, we had to get the tiramisu (of course) as well as the basque cheesecake. Both were tasty, but I think the basque cheesecake was actually the favorite among the table, which was surprising given the restaurant is named after the tiramisu! Overall decent food with the pasta standing out. Given that it was a special event with Bastille Day, the service was quite slow. We had to wave down waiters at least three times for each request, whether it was getting our menus, ordering the food, or paying the check. Our dinner ended up taking nearly 3 hours for something that was supposed to be quick and casual. Located in an unassuming alleyway downtown, this spot is work a visit! Dining here really feels like being transported to Europe with all the stone walls and tile art. Service was nice, and it was easy to grab a table for early dinner on a weekday. Drinks are strong but taste delicious. Aperol spritz was amazing. The peach bellini tasted like real peach juice. For appetizer, we got the tuna tartare. It's wrapped inside a crispy cannoli, with chunks of avocado and a siracha mayo sauce. The fish was so fresh! Finished this in about three bites. Pasta portions are generous. I liked how rich and creamy the mushroom ravioli was, can definitely taste the earthiness. The seafood pasta was my favorite. Comes with a very flavorful sauce and black noodles. It was like a seafood boil with all the toppings like shrimp, calamari, and clams. Celebrated my fiancé's birthday right before Thanksgiving this year at Cafe Tiramisu. We made a reservation for 10, and our table was ready before we got there. Hidden in an alley right on the border of Chinatown and the Financial District, right next to the historical Sam's Grill, Cafe Tiramisu is an intimate yet inviting place to go for dinner. Their menu changes with the seasons and availability of produce. I didn't keep track of what everyone ordered, but for the table, we ordered the grilled octopus with avocado, celery and a chimichurri-like sauce, and their bread served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I cannot emphasize enough how good their bread is- it is fluffy yet crisp focaccia that is toasted perfectly. We ended up ordering six orders of it for our table of 12! For main courses (from what I remember), we ordered the linguine vongole (comes with clams), spinach and cheese ravioli served with pesto, spaghetti nero (like a frutti di mare, but with squid ink pasta), and cioppino. Everything was beautifully made, and my fiancé loved the cioppino! The ravioli were plump and al dente, and the clams with the linguine were fresh and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we got tiramisu, affogato, and the sundae with gianduja ice cream. Their tiramisu is known as a "PICK ME UP" (all caps), and they're not kidding! The coffee and alcohol are strong, but make the dessert. The affogato was a perfect end to a great dinner experience. Came here with friends because we were in the area and wanted to try a new dinner place! The food was very tasty - we got various kinds of pasta, and I tried a bit of each of my friends'. Restaurant week! I visited with 2 colleagues for a business lunch & were happy that we were able to fit in a restaurant that was participated in Restaurant Week. I made reservations online which required a credit card (for no-shows). For $35, you can choose an appetizer & entree & everyone gets a slice of tiramisu cake for dessert. I'm writing this review 6 hours after I ate lunch & will probably skip dinner because I'm still full. The restaurant was pretty busy, but servicr was very good. I had the burrata which was delicious & had a bite of the beef carpaccio, which was very good. The pappadalle was so good that i devoured every bite. The tiramisu cake was light & fluffy, so we were able to finish our dessert although we were pretty full from our entrees. All their pasta is homemade and the sauce that accompanied it was very flavorful, even if it took about 25 minutes for it to come out. This place does the job if you're looking for Italian food and happen to be nearby. I had the Pappardelle with (I think it was pork and beef) ragu. It was not very flavorful, but it checks the box. The pasta was also a little soft, but it also checks the box. Same with the glass of wine I had with the food and the tiramisu dessert (it could have used some coffee liqueur and one more layer of ladyfingers). Essentially, this is not a place to go if you're looking for stronger flavors and textures, but it checks the box and is great if you especially want to avoid sodium in your diet. P.S. The table next to me offered me a bite of their pizza, though, and it was actually pretty terrible... I wouldn't recommend. read more

SF restaurant has come to close and it's time to post the $65/person dinner from Cafe tiramisu! Lobster "escargot style": Nice buttery pieces of lobster! Had some sort of bread crumbs sprinkled over as well for a nice change in texture Steamed mussels: They were good, but nothing to write home about. The sauce/broth with them was very flavorful Cioppino: Great seafood, none that were "fishy" HOWEVER it tasted very very similar (if not the same) as the sauce/broth that came with the mussels. So a little redundant but nonetheless good flavor. Rack of lamb: We asked for the lamb to be medium rare, but it definitely came out medium (sorry no money shot). My not so picky boyfriend still ate it up and loved the asparagus that came with it. The lamb itself was alright flavor wise. Caprese cake: The cake was decent and my boyfriend was a big fan as it "wasn't too sweet." Maybe a tad dry, which may be how it's supposed to be, but I wouldn't know (so take my opinion with a grain of salt). Tiramisu: At long last, the dessert that the restaurant is named after. I will admit it is definitely one of the better tiramisus I've had. the mascarpone was so fluffy and light and I liked that there was a decent layer of the lady fingers that didn't get completely overtaken by the mascarpone (although hard to see in the picture). I thought the flavors were very well balanced, not overpowering in any way. It was light, refreshing and was just absolutely perfect for dinner. The portions were pretty large that we had plenty to share. For appetizers, I really loved the mushroom rage. The food was pretty good at this place but it was kinda challenging to choose because the day we came there (it was on a weekend evening) they were not making any pizzas as their owen was broken and also they didn't make gnocchi. So we went with pappardelle and spaghetti nero both of which were fresh and portions were generous. The service was fast and friendly but I was lacking an atmosphere (maybe because we got a table on a terrace). Anyways, it's a decent traditional Italian restaurant, and worth trying out but be aware that the menu doesn't always match what they actually serve. read more

Decided to plan a last minute with colleagues during the first day on a work trip. This location was conveniently closely and Italian was safe option. The interior is rustic and homey with kind staff from the host to our waiter. However, the experience itself was underwhelming and lackluster. The restaurant needs some more upkeep as I noticed their table clothes were still stained... We weren't feeling that hungry for appetizers, so we decided to straight into entrees. The dishes are eye catching, but the taste was satisfactory to a point. My colleague and I shared their pasta, and the waiter was nice enough to split the dish for us in half in separate plates. Yet, I didn't find anything special with the dish. My colleagues liked the place, but it wasn't a strong like. Our waiter did give us bread, but he neglected to tell us that we would be charged for the bread for $7 per portion for the table. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but it took a very long time to get appetizers and then the entrees and then dessert. **Arugula Salad** A small portion but still enough for two to try as an app. I wish there was a little more dressing but we enjoyed this salad. The salad had apples, goat cheese, walnuts, and was tossed in a vinaigrette. **Spaghetti and Prawns** Made with angel hair! This dish has such delicate pasta that just hugs all the sauce. It was VERY delicious and I'm sad that it eventually had to come to an end. **Papardelle w/ Bolognese** My partner got this one and he loooooved it. The sauce was meaty and savory. He gave me a bite and indeed it was delicious! **Ricotta Cheesecake w/ Berries** Yum!
