    Ravioli
    Addison C.

I snagged the deviled eggs and the goat cheese ravioli to go before hopping on my plane. I had low expectations for counter serve airport food, but the deviled eggs were AMAZING! Incredibly flavorful and a little bit spicy, full of creamy filling and topped with crispy prosciutto. Some of the best deviled eggs I've ever had! The goat cheese ravioli had a white lemon sauce that was a little tangy and so fragrant and flavorful. The pasta was tender and well cooked.

I had a Balsamic chicken with mini potatoes and it was delicious! I did get to taste the chicken parm and that is definitely going to be ordered next time. Service was really nice and laid back. Ambiance was amazing as well. We got to see so many great pictures of family and food. I can not wait to be able to sit outside and relax. We got to meet the owner and her daughter, wonderful people. They were just so kind.

We were surprised to find this place was very small and has the look of a quick serve place, which it is not. The server: very nice and attentive. No one here seemed to actually be from Italy, which we are accustomed to when going to Italian places. Food: the crispy artichoke appetizer was good. The whipped ricotta appetizer was delicious. For meals, we got the bucatini and this one pasta with a pumpkin cream sauce. They were both OK, I didn't love the Brussel sprouts in my dish, just didn't go well. We also ordered the side of chicken parm for protein, which was big and good. For dessert the cappuccino was good but was sweet for some reason (I didn't ask for any sweetener). The tiramisu was pretty good, I imagine homemade, especially with it being more yellow which is more traditional.

First off - our server was great! So no complaints there. We are new to the area and are obviously…read moretrying new/non chain restaurants when we can. The restaurant itself is old school Italian with the drippy candles in wine bottles and dated decor. It could definitely use a facelift - and still maintain that classic Italian restaurant vibe. The food was the most disappointing part of the journey. Calamari that was chewy and not at all seasoned - clearly frozen and out of a bag and our meals were no better. I LOVE veal saltimbocca and get it whenever I can. The veal was thick, mozzarella wasn't fresh, and it was drowning in canned mushrooms. Nothing about our meal said fresh. We were leaving the next day for a quick trip so we did not take our leftovers home, but I can honestly say we wouldn't have even if we didn't have a trip planned.

I had this out of the blue chicken marsala craving and did a little research and decided to give…read moreCantina D'Italia a shot. I will start off by saying that I had low expectations given the track record of non-chain Italian restaurants I've tried since living in northern VA of which 85% have been terrible (remember I'm from NJ where Italian food should be the state food). But I said YOLO, crossed my fingers and ordered the marsala via GrubHub. The moral of the story is that I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by Cantina D'Italia overall because the marsala was pretty tasty, spaghetti cooked almost perfectly, garlic bread with cheese perfectly seasoned and cheesy and they sent an added little unexpected bonus of a pretty side salad with a homemade vinaigrette and fresh Italian bread and butter! Oh and the portion was HUGE! Totally got 2-3 meals out of it. Cantina D'Italia has given me hope ... or I should say at least gave me an Italian restaurant I just might frequent and explore all the other menu options :)

Ambiance 10/10 Very light hearted and intimate. Perfect for a date night, girls night or even a solo date! We got there closer to 7:30 on a Thursday so we didn't need a reservation. It's a little loud but we were still able to have a conversation amongst ourselves. Service 10/10 Our server was so nice and funny. He was very patient with us since this was our first time here. Definitely had good recommendations and was honest about what was good to try. He was super attentive and the food came out relatively quick. Food 12/10 The food was greatttttt!!!!! We started out with the focaccia which was light and fluffy. It paired well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar dipping oil. I had the spicy rigatoni and my friend had the lasagna. We were very happy with our entrees. My pasta was creamy spicy and very flavorful! Not going to lie should have order another for to-go. For dessert I got the seasonal butter cake which had caramel, bananas and vanilla ice cream. It was fabulous and the perfect way to finish off the night. My friend got the tiramisu and she loved it as well. I need to come back here again to try more food because man.... Everything was great!

It reminds me a little bit of Vapianos, esp with the open kitchen concept. We went for mothers day. The lady could not find my reservation. i had to show her. but something is wrong with their system because this happened to a friend of mine back in February as well. They ran out of ranch and N/A prosseco. It is okay bc the food was good. We ordered the fried zucca chips. OVERLY SALTED. did not enjoy. The burrata was delicious. I would get that again. The chicken parmesan was delicious. but it was odd it came with mac and cheese ziti or some kind of cheese sauce. Usually you serve chicken parm with spaghetti and sauce? The Bolognese was delicious and same with the chicken pesto. My sister got a arugula steak salad. The steak was really rare and they didnt even ask how she wanted it cooked. the little gem caesar was good but it had way too much dressing. way too much. the dessert was delicious. butter cake was amazing! Drinks: Cocktails were really good but OVERPRICED. $16-$17 dollars for a non fancy italian spot is wild. Ciao Bella was delicious though. I would probably come here again but it is overpriced.
