Susan and I were invited to the Jameson Whisky Dinner at Fionn MacCool's, and even though we are not whisky drinkers, we couldn't pass it up. We are so glad we went. Fionn MacCool's is one of those places that immediately transports you. It feels like a true Irish pub, lively atmosphere, soccer on the TVs, great energy, and a bar that feels like the center of it all. The dinner itself was a full curated pairing experience with multiple courses and Jameson tastings, plus the history behind the brand, which made it even more enjoyable. The venison sliders were oversized, hearty, and packed with flavor. The sea scallops were perfectly cooked, and the blood pudding surprised us in the best way. The jumbo shrimp in creamy whiskey sauce over wild rice was excellent, but the real star of the night was the braised short ribs paired with Jameson Black Barrel. They were tender enough to cut with a fork and easily the best dish of the night. We ended with Irish coffee made with Jameson Cold Brew and sticky toffee pudding, which was the perfect finish. This was more than a meal. It was an experience, and we highly recommend it.

My favorite part of today is that I found this place. I have long loved the atmosphere and Irish Nachos, but didn't realize this location was so close to me! It's tucked back, but that adds to the mystique!

So glad we found this local gem! The atmosphere is dark and cool with the background din of random sports events. Live music seems to be on tap most weekends. We enjoyed everything, save for the fries. They were pretty meh. But the rest of the food made up for it!

When on a work trip in Jacksonville, I googled to try to find a Spurs supporters pub and this location came up. I did notice that they don't always do watch parties, but took a chance. When my coworker and I came in, we asked them to put on a Telly since they didn't have a watch party for that match. They gladly accommodated and I was happy to be able to watch while enjoying the beautiful pub atmosphere of this location. Our waitress was the amazing Jenn and she offered some recommendations as we both have not been to this establishment. The onion rings are hand-breaded and made in house, so I highly recommend them if you stop in! They are massive and I used my pint of Guinness for scale. My coworker and I even split the wings to start, and they allowed sauce on the side with the different sauces so we could try. I really appreciate them doing so and my favorite was the buffalo as I prefer spicier wings. Lastly, we got the Guinness Beef Stew as my coworkers wanted a more traditional dish. The small bit I tried was delicious and she raved about the buttery beer bread. Overall, with or without a Spurs match, I'd pop in to this pub. Authentic pub feel and delicious food that makes me feel like I was transported to Ireland.

I had not ever eaten at MacCool's but I had to pick up a med at the Bluebird Pharmacy very near it, so I went for lunch. I had a friend with me and we got a semi-booth (she has a walker so we needed a bit of room). Our waitperson was Ms. Carolyn and she steered me clear of anything onion (severe allergy)--so that's life-saving right there! My friend wanted a "deconstructed" Smash Burger and it came out just the way she requested. She liked it, and she especially liked the restaurant's signature potato-leek soup. I ordered a turkey, bacon, spinach, Irish cheese sandwich in a spinach wrap. I had a side of Cole slaw. All was tasty! Ms. Carolyn kindly fixed us "special" iced teas--I had Mango syrup in mine and my friend had Blueberries in hers. Delicious! We ordered the whiskey cake dessert but took it home--looks delicious, though! I liked the Celtic decor and there were plenty of TVs. I imagine it's really hopping in the evenings! The service was "leisurely," but it was okay because we chatted the time away. I suspect everything is made from scratch in the kitchen so that takes time! We'd like to return and be more adventurous in our menu selections! All-in-all, a nice outing!

Thank you for opening early to watch Olympics Team USA! This is the only place we could find and it was great!

Thank you for opening early to watch Olympics Team USA! This is the only place we could find and it was great! Good Bloody Mary, good breakfast food, good espresso martinis, and good beer.

We have been here before and it was very good. The soup was cold. The Shepherds pie didn't have much meat. The spinach dip was good. Service was very slow. Waiter took forever to get our drinks. He apologized and blamed the bar tender. At $9 a beer it wasn't good service. The place has great ambience. This is the first time we said it was just okay.

I don't understand why this restaurant isn't always full. The food is spectacular...especially the soups. We have been here at least 5 times and it has never been a disappointment. The bread for the sandwiches is always super fresh. The desserts are to die for...especially the whisky cake. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the service is always excellent. The ambience is very rustic as it should be for an Irish Pub. Nocatee where are you. Don't miss this amazing food experience.

We were looking for a new place for dinner fairly close to Nocatee and decided to give this place a try. I am so glad we did because it was very good. The inside is much bigger than I expected with plenty of bar and table seating. The menu offers about a dozen appetizers, a dozen sandwiches and a dozen entrees. Our server recommendations were the shepherds pie, fish and chips, or reuben egg rolls. I went with her recommendation of the fish and chips and it did not disappoint. It was two large pieces of cod, along with a good size portion of fries and a small cup of peas. Everything tasted great and I even took one piece of fish home as leftovers. My husband had the Dubliner sandwich. It was corned beef, Swiss cheese, and Saerkraut on rye bread. He upgraded to onion rings as his side and they were huge and delicious. He also had some leftovers. Service was friendly and fairly quick.

Fantastic food . When starts raining we run to this…read morerestaurant. And we got lunch . Looks busy but server doing good job . Their response very quickly. Food was amazing . I willl come again .

I'm truly mixed on my feelings, but I know that we did not come at the best time to truly rate this…read morerestaurant. It was the weekend before St. Paddy's and they were slammed. We got a table for a party of 5, and thankfully did not have to wait a long time. The service was fine and we did not have to wait for our server to come check on us between other tables. She was nice and on top of what we were ordering. My main issues: two of the drinks we ordered had flies/bugs in them. I'm talking 3-4 bugs in each drink. I'm not sure if they landed on the orange garnish that got put in our drinks or what, but it was not ideal. We swapped for another beverage and didn't have an issue. The other issue was the food itself. Thankfully everything came out really hot and pretty fast, but it was just super mediocre. The shepherd's pie was a bit lackluster and my husband said it was not seasoned/kind of tasteless. I'm sure it's just because of the busyness, but still disappointing. The party outside seemed super fun and everyone who was just drinking and standing for the music were happy. I would give it another chance, but absolutely not on a holiday adventure.
