Homemade Ravioli filled with roasted butternut squash, Italian cheeses and tossed with pesto rose

I love this new find close to home - I visited three times in the first week bringing different people with me. Photos are a mix from all 3 visits. Standouts are Calamari & Shrimp appetizer (made fresh; no Sysco truck here) and the Salmon Genovese. Fiori also has great specials on food & drink throughout the week - give them a try!

Bread and oil on the table right away which we love!! The cheesy garlic bread was not hot which was a shame. The chicken parm was solid and the riggatoni was yum! All the marinara's were quite sweet which I isn't really my cup of tea. Very cute place, waiter was very sweet. $75 for lunch a bit steep.

The service here is appalling. You know that fake smile you get with eyes are full of anger? That was our waitress. She ignored us multiple times when we tried to order. We had to ask repeatedly for water. The food took over 30 minutes for our food even though others who came after us got their food. At first we didn't mind because it seemed really busy but even when it got quiet, we were ignored. It's such a shame because the food itself was stellar. Especially the funk pizza if you're a mushroom fan.

    Gorgonzola Salad

Usually, I love this place. Food is always made well and is high-quality. However, they skimp you on portion sizes sometimes - especially if you order to-go. One of my favorite dishes is the Gorgonzola Salad. Last time I ordered it to-go, the portion size was double, I even received an extra dressing. This time I had to ask my husband if he ordered a half order because the size was honestly less than it was last time - and they even put it in a different, smaller container. Notice this on their liquor drinks as well, not a heavy pour for the price you're paying.

food was amazing! best italian i have had outside of family recipes. everything tasted fresh and scratch-made. Only downside was that every drink we tried to order, they were missing ingredients for. A beautiful place otherwise.

The food at this restaurant was okish but the apps and deserts were really good. The pizzas tasted more or less like marinara dripped flatbread and the vodka sauce pasta was just tossed pasta in store bought sauce. The ambiance, appetiser and dessert were pretty on spot but the menu was pretty limited due to Christmas special menu. I am assuming that they have better vegetarian options during non-Christmas time.

In other words, you'd never catch a glimpse of it by simply driving through town (thank goodness for Google maps!) and even many of the locals are unaware of its existence. We did manage to find it though, with hopes that the food would be worth the effort it took to get there. My husband and I both started with caesar salads. Other than being a little heavy on the dressing, they tasted ok. The pecan crusted salmon and mac & cheese were next for me. The coating on the salmon tasted like the same stuff a Thanksgiving sweet potato casserole is topped with. Unfortunately, that's the one thing I never touch because I'm just not a fan of the flavors. Unlike the salmon and salad, there was nothing objectionable about the mac & cheese. My husband ordered a filet that arrived really cold and underdone. It was closer to mooing than medium rare like he requested! Even after they took it back to the kitchen to cook it some more, it came back pretty raw. The chocolate cake we had for dessert was probably the best part of the meal. It was so rich and decadent that we didn't even miss the raspberry sauce (I assumed they purposefully left it out since we got it to go). Considering that the management here has opened and closed so many different restaurants in this same spot, you would think that they would be experts by now at running a successful establishment. But for some reason, they continue to put out the kind of lackluster food that can be found for a lower price at a major chain. At least they can boast having a beautiful view if nothing else.

The naan it was served with was warm and abundant. I do not like when you order a dip and hardly get any chips or bread for dipping. Tycoon covered it! Our friend had the French Onion Soup and liked it. The Steak Frites (substituted with broccolini) that our friend got looked amazing. My husband had the Wagyu Sliders and really enjoyed them. I made my reservation on Resy. A couple of days later I get a call from the restaurant saying they needed a $25 deposit over the phone, in case we cancel. I have dined at a lot of restaurants but never have I made a deposit upfront, they would just have a card on file and charge it if there is a no show. The lady on the phone (Chelsea) said we would only have 90 minutes at our table, which is standard for most restaurants. Nevertheless we paid $25 and kept our reservation, since Valentine's Day is busy time I figured this was the reason for all of this. Upon our arrival we were seated right away, and as soon as we sat down the hostess let us know that they would need our table by 5:45pm, because that is when the next reservation would be there. Right off the bat I felt rushed. I hated the table we were sat in, because we were so close in proximity to other people. Tycoon is very pretty inside, but if you are not seated in one of their spacious booths, the other tables are so close together, you will definitely hear other people's conversations. Let's talk about the food, I ordered the Lavender Lemonade as my cocktail and that was really good. For our appetizer we had the Deviled eggs, and I was excited because I love Deviled Eggs, but these were just okay. I didn't love how over stuffed they were, I just felt like it was too much. For my entree I had the Chicken Parmesan which I thoroughly enjoyed. I thought my meal was flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. My husband had the sea bass and he loved his food. To end the night we shared their Dessert Trio and that was delicious, aside from the Creme Brûlée because that had no taste. Their service was good. Our waiter was nice and attentive. I definitely didn't feel rushed by him, but the same hostess stood near waiting for me to take my last bite of pasta so she could take the plate from the table. We were watching the time the whole time to make sure we got out of there on time. Overall I was disappointed. I get that Valentine's Day is busy day for restaurants but I don't want to be rushed through a dinner that should be enjoyable.

Food wise: got a smash burger which came with fries, which if I order it again I'd probably change cheeses and ask for some pepper to season the fries a bit more ... all personal preferences... but was ok for something to eat to off set the two drinks I had while there. I also got some tacos to go for my husband. Again personal preference, he would have liked more seasoning/spice on the actual meat of the taco vs being as reliant on the salsa. So, on our next visit we might just stick with shareables/apps with our drinks.

I didn't want to write them off completely before giving them a second chance though, so I came back with my family for an early Mother's Day dinner. On a busy Friday night they were fully prepared for the rush. Fresh chips and salsa arrived at our table just as we did. Happy hour hadn't ended yet, so we ordered a round of margaritas that also showed up quickly. Already this was an improvement over the previous visit. It was when we got our entrees that I was reminded of why I originally lost interest in this place. My chicken and cheese enchilada meal was about as average as it gets. My husband and sons had the same impression of their meals. To be clear, there was nothing wrong with any of the food. At the same time, there was nothing special about it either. Another thing that didn't help the situation was when I asked for their spiciest salsa they brought me a tiny cup that contained maybe a couple tablespoons of it. I didn't realize until the bill came that they charge extra for it. Furthermore, it was barely hotter than their regular salsa. Had I known all that, I would never have bothered with the request. Now, I have no problem with garden variety Tex Mex as long as it's priced accordingly, but I expected more here due to their higher prices. Fortunately, there's a Tex Mex place on practically every street corner and Mi Dia isn't the only game in town.
