We had our wedding dinner here and it was such a great experience. They were able to accommodate almost 55 people and everything went smoothly. The service was amazing and the staff was super accommodating. Mentor was awesome to work with and very responsive. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how good the food was, and everything came out in a timely manner. Drinks were quick and delicious, too. Being able to play my own playlist was such a nice touch and really made the night feel special. I had a great solo dinner at Fiorino in downtown Summit. I was able to grab a seat at the bar on a Saturday evening with no problem. The drinks were phenomenal! The beets as an appetizer weren't so great. The ravioli was sensational and the bread pudding was very good. This is a busy, intimate restaurant that would be excellent for dates. First time we have been there . Overall a great experience , we sat in the back room lined with dark wood and wine bottles , really nice , had a cocktail then a few bottles of wine , all excellent , the service is good, attentive , knowledgeable . We had a few apps and split a pasta dish to start , then I had the fish special , the others had the veal chop and a pasta dish, again the food was great. I have only one issue . There was a large table in the same room with several kids who were completely out of control , the parents were oblivious , another guest tried to talk to them to no avail , it really downgraded the experience, also I realize the world is more casual but the guy was waring a gray T shirt and the wife had on a tube top . The managers came in several times but only looked and left. I was really puzzled by the lack of any effort to fix this . Here's my real issue, when I left I did stop by the front desk and spoke with one of the managers and told him my story and his response was " Yes we were aware of the situation " when I asked him why nothing was done he repeated that he was aware . Fiorino is unreal. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here, but hadn't been back in 6+ years. I also didn't eat much at my wedding rehearsal because I was too nervous, so I finally got to indulge. The verdict? The food is TEN OUT OF TEN. The highlight of the meal was the pasta on special - cacio e pepe black garlic paccheri. This might be the best pasta that I've had outside of Rome. You also hardly see paccheri dishes outside of Italy, so this was a real treat. Perfectly al dente pasta in the most flavorful sauce. Topped with fresh parm, I could've literally gobbled up three bowls. We also had veal with prosciutto and sun dried tomatoes which came in the most delicious sweet sauce. Apps are also not to be missed, and the buffalo mozz was super fresh. The ambiance is swanky. On a Friday night this is a spot!!! Vibes are amazing and there was literally not an empty seat in the house. They have a full bar and an extensive selection of wine. We paired our meal with a decadent Italian red. For a high quality Italian meal in a gorgeous setting Fiorino is definitely a must. This amazing restaurant is serving up, some seriously tasty northern Italian dishes! Our server arbor gave us the most impeccable service. Bringing a variety of drinks! And also some olives and cheese to snack on while we peruse the menu. We start off with the grilled eggplant. It was absolutely delicious, very tender, and the cheese just melted in your mouth! We also had some delicious lightly fried calamari, I love when it's not too heavy. We then enjoyed some heavenly grilled scallops over zucchini, extremely tender! Then we were both extremely spoiled when the maitrD came and put truffles all over our tagliatelle pasta with a raw egg in the middle, a truly decadent experience! My friend also ordered a tagliatelle pasta with rabbit Ragu for dinner, she practically licked her plate! I myself ordered an amazing steak, I did not think A place that had such incredible pasta would make great steak as well, but my steak was absolutely amazing! We literally could not eat another bite. I have wanted to try this place for a while. It did not disappoint. It was a packed house. But the service was not slow. They let me know ahead of time my table was ready so we walked in. Inside the lights are low and cozy. At the same time we could see the Yankees game at the bar. We were quickly seated and the attentive service began. They took our drink order. Purple Rain is a must, not too sweet and not too sour. The eggplant was fresh and tasty. My kids enjoyed the almost crusted calamari. I didn't think they would like it. The rest of the meal was delicious as well. Did not feel heavy. My lamb chops were moist and flavorful. We shared some desserts. During COVID restaurants were struggling and patrons were willing to foot the bill but some Restaurants have kept the line item. Other retailers provision for CC use.. why are restaurants different? Great restaurant with a really vibrant atmosphere, with a very relaxing, classy, and comfortable vibe, along with a lively bar scene. Our group was fortunate to score a table in the wine room, which to me added to our dining experience. The Northern Italian menu was creative, with a lot of interesting and tantalizing dishes. The service was very professional, friendly, and expedient, and the drinks, including my bourbon Manhattan, were all expertly prepared. Apps included Grilled Octopus , Marinated Grilled Shrimp, Almond Crusted Fried Calamari, and Marinated Eggplant. All excellent! Doug and I choose the Lobster Risotto. Delicious choice! George and Gus opted for the Pappardelle, with rabbit ragù and ‍ Mushrooms. Desserts included Blueberry and Peach Cobbler, w/vanilla gelato (my choice), Coconut Tortoni; coconut gelato, toasted coconut, white chocolate, pistachio tuile, caramel, maraschino cherry, Crème Brulée Trio; w/vanilla, pistachio, amaretto, and Espresso Cheesecake; espresso caramel, pistachio gelato. Had a little hiccup that was self-induced and Fiorino's was First-class in helping me sort everything out. Five stars!

The ambience in Fiorino, especially during the holiday season, is warm and inviting, cozy but still bustling with activity. The staff is all incredibly friendly. It's best to make a reservation. Upon arrival, there is a coat check at the host station. We were seated almost immediately, and served fresh bread with a dipping oil. There were ample vegetarian choices on the menu - of the vegetarian options, we got the bufala mozzarella with tomatoes and eggplant, and the spinach and ricotta tortillaci. Both were phenomenal, the drinks were delicious, and the dessert (banana bread pudding with vanilla bean gelato) was excellent. Then to end the night, they surprised us with biscotti and a candle for our anniversary. The whole experience just made for a wonderful night out. This is one of our favorite date night locations in the area. read more

Located in Summit, this has an old school Italian feel with the owner and managers. Stopped here for dinner and the front hostess was kind and asked if I wanted to be seated. The other person there (manager or owner?) gave a bored look and continued to shuffle paper instead of help her seat others that came in, and was gruff when asking her if I had a reservation when I went to the washroom and came back out; he apparently hadn't paid attention when I came up the first time to see if my party had arrived. Tone is important on how you treat folks, and that put me off a bit as I've run a restaurant before, and know it's not easy to be cheerful all the time, but you have to try. That's why I point this out. Service overall was ok; lots of attention to plating and new utensils between courses, but water took them a while to refill. And thanks for Ilir for reaching out from the restaurant and correcting the dish name I had below. While I appreciate his critique of me, my taste buds and my service and food expectations and experience drive what I write here, not his culinary expertise. It's a point in time, and my own tastes are not yours, dear readers and Ilir, so I will remind people again - enjoy what you like about each and skip what you don't! There's no rule that says we have to like what others do, after all. But I won't modify any of my reviews to say anything I don't believe is true about *my* taste and experience. Off the soap box now.. :) Had a sample of different antipasto selections: The marinated eggplant was too salty, a layered dish of multiple tomatoes eggplant, and mozzarella. Salt crunch is not what I want. The octopus was good but needed to be cut up, and the potato salad balsamic sauce was good but could have been drizzled across the octopus instead of heavily layered on the potato salad. I tried the sauce on the octopus and it worked well for my taste, much like the balsamic vinegar on octopus you'd find in Greek cuisine or the dark vinegars in Asian cuisine. The crostini was excellent. Crunchy and a nice burrata and they made it vegetarian for us (no mortadella). Two pieces for a table of three.. hm, could be just how they portion it but then perhaps you want to break it up? Two shared pastas included the ricotta torelecci which was ok, filling was good, but the tomato sauce too plain and needed more flavors, it tasted like just some crushed tomatoes with salt. The rabbit ragu pappardelle was probably the best dish of the night, though, chewy al dente noodles, shredded rabbit meat, and beautifully rich and flavorful sauce, a touch salty but not too much. This with some bread was excellent to clean the plate. For the meat course, I tried the veal scaloppine which was pounded well flat, but tough (tasted like overcooked chicken basically) and perhaps overcooked. Should've gone with my gut instead and tried the clam linguine, which looked good at the other table. The fish had four half cut small potatoes that were uninspiring, no flavor other than being sauteed. A little garlic or dill would've improved it significantly. Come for the pasta is my thought, house made and great selection that saved the night. read more

Summit was my old friend's choice for our weekly gastronomic get-together, not mine. Back in the day, I occasionally ate at the Summit Diner, and the 1st time I ate creme brulee...it was delicious, and I love creme brulee to this day, although I wish they'd serve it in a big bowl as opposed to the tiny, shallow one they invariably serve it in...was at a restaurant near the train station (the name of the restaurant escapes me now, but it was a real long time ago, and the restaurant probably doesn't exist anymore). I associate Summit with "money," and tend to avoid its dining establishments (as well as its other establishments). Not that I'm an unwashed lumpen proletariat, or a boorish rube, or a cloddish hillbilly who enjoys consuming massive quantities of mediocre food for a minimal price (although I did once drive with friends 4 hours to Charlestown, RI, in order to dine at the "All You Can Eat" Nordic Lodge, but that's another review for another time...although I'm not sure if it still exists...). My friend had a specific restaurant in mind, one that he and his ex-wife used to regularly dine at (which means it assuredly had a bar). We walked up and down Summit's streets until he finally conceded it must have gone out of business. We picked Fiorino's by default. In comparison to other restaurants in the area, it's prices seemed relatively moderate (at least by Summit standards), and we both agreed to try it out. I wasn't exactly enthused, but we both hadn't eaten for a long time, and I was tired and wanted to make it an early night. The place was packed, and we didn't have a reservation. We were offered a seat at the impressively Art-Deco'ish bar, and we accepted. There was only 1 other person at the bar, and the bartender was pleasant enough. My 1st obstacle was the bathroom. It took me awhile to figure out how the faucet worked. After waving my hands around in the air like an unhinged idiot (I idly wondered if someone was recording this for posterity or for some makeshift version of "Punk'd," the non-entity edition as opposed to the celebrity one...), I finally secured a trickle of water. My friend had the same problem, so at least I wasn't the only unhinged idiot on the premises. We were served a glass of water, and...in my case...a glass of cola. We both ordered the pasta fagioli. It was delicious, but there wasn't enough of it (I think they were using the shallow creme brulee "dish" to serve the soup in). We both ordered lasagna (I was hoping my friend would order something different, so they wouldn't mistake us for Tweedledee and Tweedledum...I'm Tweedledee, by the way...but he seemed content to follow my lead). It was the "Tuscany" version of lasagna, which I'm not really familiar with (it seems to favor bechamel sauce as opposed to tomato). The dishes were covered with arugula. I pushed the arugula aside, although my friend devoured his, saying, "I was gonna order a green salad, but now I don't have to." It wasn't at all bad, but the Tuscany version is not my favorite. My friend, an Italian-American, seemed to like it too, although he initially asked me, "Did they serve us eggplant by mistake?" "No, it's lasagna." Decent food (and, in the case of the soup, exceptional food), but not a lot of it. We both ordered the vanilla gelato for dessert. It was served to us without spoons. I was content to eat my 1 scoop with an extra fork that I still had by me, but my friend had to grab a spoon from a nearby cutlery stand. I appreciate the difference between gelato and Turkey Hill ice cream. I've been to Italy, and the Italian gelato is one of those indelible memories that never completely leaves you. But I couldn't help thinking to myself, "I just paid $9 for a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream." As I've said, service was pleasant enough, but seemed distracted. (My friend, a former drunk/drug addict sober now for 10 years, made me nervous by discussing with the bartender all the ingredients that go into the making of a successfully annihilating Long Island Iced Tea. He seemed to be salivating more over the imagined drink than he was over the lasagna, but maybe that's just my imagination.) Maybe the bartender wasn't used to regularly serving meals as opposed to drinks. Usually, a server will ask me, "Can I get you another Coke?" Not in this case. I could have used another one, but...given the prices...I wasn't going to pro-actively order another one. I figured I'd wait until I got home. Maybe it's purely subjective on my part-- Fiorino's seems to be a place where you can expect to pay a lot of money for good food, but not a lot of food. Maybe that's just the way things are in Summit. Recommended, but with the reservations I've indicated. Maybe I'm just a boorish rube content with attaching the feedbag like an ol' horse and chowing-down at the Cracker Barrel or the Flaming Grill Supreme Buffet in East Rutherford. Or maybe not. As the late, unlamented Tucker Carlson used to say, "You decide." read more

We made reservations for a weeknight when it snowed during the day and they were still full around prime dinner hours. Service was friendly. Their wine menu was bigger online as we did not get the full list. 1. Clam linguini - Good, saucy, wish there was a bit more clams. I give this 3.8/5. Love Fiorinos even more now that they have outdoor seating. Stopped by for lunch today on the way home from my Doctors appointment and I'm glad I did because everything was delicious! Started off with the Almond crusted calamari that's served with a spicy tomato sauce. It was fried perfectly to a crispy golden brown and after a generous squirt of fresh lemon juice it was just perfect! Since it was lunch time I decided to go with their Cheeseburger. This burger is so thick and juicy topped with Fontina cheese, lettuce & tomato. I left off the onions. I asked for a medium rare and it was exactly that. It's served with a side of extra crispy fries. I loved this burger but it was so big I could only eat half...lol Plus I always need to save room for dessert here. So saving the best for last.... After perusing the dessert menu I couldn't make a decision so I had to order two. Now I can never pass up a good crème brûlée let alone a trio of crème brûlée. The trio comes with Vanilla, Coffee, and Pistachio. I love them all but I always love anything Pistachio so that's my favorite. I also ordered the Cappuccino Mousse. That's topped with Almond clusters, Peanut crunch, and Whipped cream. This was very rich, creamy, and delicious! I had to bring most of that home because between that and the crème brûlée I was about to have a sugar shock but it was well worth it...lol My server Caesar was the best, checked in with me frequently and timed everything perfectly. The rest of the staff was excellent as well. I never had an empty water glass or dirty dish left on the table. So to wrap up my review yet again another excellent meal at Fiorinos. The restaurant is lovely. Very likely bar scene with lots of people enjoying a tasty drink. My husband and friends had our drinks at the table before dinner. The table was situated at the end of the restaurant against the back wall. We did get a nice tour of the restaurant on the way, however, don't think I would want to sit there again. Menu is well designed with a mix of traditional Italian and some newer entrees. Wine pours seem to be around 5oz, so slightly stingy. Went for dinner on a Friday night. It was very busy but we had a reservation so were seated right away. The service was good. Ambience very nice. The food was hit or miss. The beet salad was very good. Eggplant appetizer was ok, I'm not a big fam of cold dggplany. The clams were overcooked. The veal entree portion was very small and also overcooked/chewy. The pastas were decent (ravioli, fusilli- homecooked). My friend got the halibut, which was nicely portioned and cooked well. Overall a nice experience.
