Fiorino is unreal. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here, but hadn't been back in 6+ years. I also didn't eat much at my wedding rehearsal because I was too nervous, so I finally got to indulge. The verdict? The food is TEN OUT OF TEN. The highlight of the meal was the pasta on special - cacio e pepe black garlic paccheri. This might be the best pasta that I've had outside of Rome. You also hardly see paccheri dishes outside of Italy, so this was a real treat. Perfectly al dente pasta in the most flavorful sauce. Topped with fresh parm, I could've literally gobbled up three bowls. We also had veal with prosciutto and sun dried tomatoes which came in the most delicious sweet sauce. Apps are also not to be missed, and the buffalo mozz was super fresh. The ambiance is swanky. On a Friday night this is a spot!!! Vibes are amazing and there was literally not an empty seat in the house. They have a full bar and an extensive selection of wine. We paired our meal with a decadent Italian red. For a high quality Italian meal in a gorgeous setting Fiorino is definitely a must. This will always be a special spot because of my wedding rehearsal dinner, and the absurdly good food is just a reason to keep returning.

This amazing restaurant is serving up, some seriously tasty northern Italian dishes! Our server arbor gave us the most impeccable service. Bringing a variety of drinks! And also some olives and cheese to snack on while we peruse the menu. We start off with the grilled eggplant. It was absolutely delicious, very tender, and the cheese just melted in your mouth! We also had some delicious lightly fried calamari, I love when it's not too heavy. We then enjoyed some heavenly grilled scallops over zucchini, extremely tender! Then we were both extremely spoiled when the maitrD came and put truffles all over our tagliatelle pasta with a raw egg in the middle, a truly decadent experience! My friend also ordered a tagliatelle pasta with rabbit Ragu for dinner, she practically licked her plate! I myself ordered an amazing steak, I did not think A place that had such incredible pasta would make great steak as well, but my steak was absolutely amazing! We literally could not eat another bite. But then we were talked into trying dessert! A pumpkin cheesecake, and absolutely amazing, walnut pear, cobbler! You practically had to wheel us out of there! This was absolutely one of the most incredible meals I've ever eaten in my life! I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu and if you haven't been here yet you need to.

I have wanted to try this place for a while. It did not disappoint. It was a packed house. But the service was not slow. They let me know ahead of time my table was ready so we walked in. Inside the lights are low and cozy. At the same time we could see the Yankees game at the bar. We were quickly seated and the attentive service began. They took our drink order. Purple Rain is a must, not too sweet and not too sour. The eggplant was fresh and tasty. My kids enjoyed the almost crusted calamari. I didn't think they would like it. The rest of the meal was delicious as well. Did not feel heavy. My lamb chops were moist and flavorful. We shared some desserts. The creme brûlée trio was just the sweet tastes that we needed to end the night. Can't wait to return.

Outstanding restaurant! Food was amazing. Staff were great. Wine list is insanely good! Definitely recommend. Veal chop was perfect and the mushroom risotto was amazing. The Veal Scallopine was really good! The pumpkin cheesecake also great !

At Fiorino Ristorante & Bar in Summit, NJ, celebrating our buddy George's birthday. Great restaurant with a really vibrant atmosphere, with a very relaxing, classy, and comfortable vibe, along with a lively bar scene. Our group was fortunate to score a table in the wine room, which to me added to our dining experience. The Northern Italian menu was creative, with a lot of interesting and tantalizing dishes. The service was very professional, friendly, and expedient, and the drinks, including my bourbon Manhattan, were all expertly prepared. Apps included Grilled Octopus , Marinated Grilled Shrimp, Almond Crusted Fried Calamari, and Marinated Eggplant. All excellent! Doug and I choose the Lobster Risotto. Delicious choice! George and Gus opted for the Pappardelle, with rabbit ragù and ‍ Mushrooms. Desserts included Blueberry and Peach Cobbler, w/vanilla gelato (my choice), Coconut Tortoni; coconut gelato, toasted coconut, white chocolate, pistachio tuile, caramel, maraschino cherry, Crème Brulée Trio; w/vanilla, pistachio, amaretto, and Espresso Cheesecake; espresso caramel, pistachio gelato. Along with our Cappuccinos these were a perfect finishing touch to a fantastic dining experience. 07/18/2024

This has an upscale Italian ambiance. Friendly and knowledgeable bar tender served us. Cocktails were well made and tasty. The Octopus appetizer was flavorful and a large portion. The veal scallopine was similarly a large portion with a nice light sauce, sautéed spinach and potatoes. The pappardelle was delicious with a light red sauce. A very good experience and one I hope to repeat.

Located in Summit, this has an old school Italian feel with the owner and managers. Stopped here for dinner and the front hostess was kind and asked if I wanted to be seated. The other person there (manager or owner?) gave a bored look and continued to shuffle paper instead of help her seat others that came in, and was gruff when asking her if I had a reservation when I went to the washroom and came back out; he apparently hadn't paid attention when I came up the first time to see if my party had arrived. Tone is important on how you treat folks, and that put me off a bit as I've run a restaurant before, and know it's not easy to be cheerful all the time, but you have to try. That's why I point this out. Service overall was ok; lots of attention to plating and new utensils between courses, but water took them a while to refill. And thanks for Ilir for reaching out from the restaurant and correcting the dish name I had below. While I appreciate his critique of me, my taste buds and my service and food expectations and experience drive what I write here, not his culinary expertise. It's a point in time, and my own tastes are not yours, dear readers and Ilir, so I will remind people again - enjoy what you like about each and skip what you don't! There's no rule that says we have to like what others do, after all. But I won't modify any of my reviews to say anything I don't believe is true about *my* taste and experience. Off the soap box now.. :) Had a sample of different antipasto selections: The marinated eggplant was too salty, a layered dish of multiple tomatoes eggplant, and mozzarella. Salt crunch is not what I want. The octopus was good but needed to be cut up, and the potato salad balsamic sauce was good but could have been drizzled across the octopus instead of heavily layered on the potato salad. I tried the sauce on the octopus and it worked well for my taste, much like the balsamic vinegar on octopus you'd find in Greek cuisine or the dark vinegars in Asian cuisine. The crostini was excellent. Crunchy and a nice burrata and they made it vegetarian for us (no mortadella). Two pieces for a table of three.. hm, could be just how they portion it but then perhaps you want to break it up? Two shared pastas included the ricotta torelecci which was ok, filling was good, but the tomato sauce too plain and needed more flavors, it tasted like just some crushed tomatoes with salt. The rabbit ragu pappardelle was probably the best dish of the night, though, chewy al dente noodles, shredded rabbit meat, and beautifully rich and flavorful sauce, a touch salty but not too much. This with some bread was excellent to clean the plate. For the meat course, I tried the veal scaloppine which was pounded well flat, but tough (tasted like overcooked chicken basically) and perhaps overcooked. Should've gone with my gut instead and tried the clam linguine, which looked good at the other table. The fish had four half cut small potatoes that were uninspiring, no flavor other than being sauteed. A little garlic or dill would've improved it significantly. Come for the pasta is my thought, house made and great selection that saved the night.

Lupa is located in a section of Berkely Heights that has seen a lot of recent construction, so it is very pretty and clean. You couldn't be blamed if you bypassed the restaurant. It is not very flashy looking and that is part of its charm. Be warned, there are not a lot of parking spaces behind the restaurant so you may wind up parking in the bank parking lot next to it (when the bank is closed of course). The staff at Lupa is super friendly and treats you like a regular even if this is your first time. The host was super nice, the waitress fantastic and the chef even came to our table to talk to us when we were done eating! The interior is very clean and modern looking. It's elegant and perfect for virtually any event including dates, anniversaries and family get togethers. We wound up sitting in the same area as the bar, which mostly has 2-4 seater tables and of course you can sit at the bar as well. The other side of the restaurant is where the larger tables are located. Here's a rundown of what we had: CLAMS ON TOAST Baby clams. crispy ham. thyme When I ordered this, I expected to see slices of toast with crispy ham and baby clams on top. Instead, it is two large pieces of wonderfully toasted bread with crispy ham on top. The actual clams sit in a *delicious* broth. Taken altogether these various components form a delicious bite. Be sure to dip that bread into the broth! SQUID INK SPAGHETTI lobster knuckles and claws. broccoli florets. grape tomatoes. Sherry Cream Sauce This dish has a wonderfully deep and earthy flavor. I've had squid ink pasta before and this was a wonderful example of it. The sauce was perfect and it was cooked beautifully. HANGER STEAK Truffled pomme frites. Chimichurri The steak was beautifully cooked (we had it medium rare) and the chimichurri sauce was great. However, the steak needed a bit more salt (and I'm not usually one to add salt to food). The pomme frites were wonderfully crispy and tasty. BROCCOLI RABE lemon. Kilos Broccoli rabe is a simple side dish but it is one of my favorites. It is also one that can easily be overcooked. These folks cooked it perfectly and it made for a fantastic side dish. My party and I loved our experience at Lupa and we all agreed we would happily return any time!

The floor-to-ceiling windows create a gorgeous atmosphere, and the food was delicious. Service throughout the meal was very good, and our server, Abby, was friendly and attentive. That said, there were a couple of disappointments. It was my birthday, and we were asked multiple times throughout the evening whether we were celebrating a special occasion. However, nothing was ever acknowledged at the end of the meal. We even had to remind our server about the limoncello shots that typically accompany dessert, which felt a bit awkward after being asked so many times about the occasion. My biggest concern is the seating issue with the windows. While the floor-to-ceiling glass is beautiful, the sun glare was extremely uncomfortable where we were seated. The sun was directly in our eyes for much of the meal, and we found ourselves switching and repositioning our chairs just to be comfortable. The restaurant should consider installing shades, scrims, or another solution to help manage the sunlight during certain hours. Overall, Felina Summit is a gorgeous restaurant with excellent food and good service, and I would certainly return. With better management of the sunlight and a little more follow-through on special occasion acknowledgments, the experience would be even better.

The service was great. Food came out promptly. Our server might have been overly attentive and checked in on us at least 5 times during the meal to see if we enjoyed it. So a great place to visit and enjoy the ambience but not a great place for eating.

We had a confirmed reservation at 7:45p and checked in at 7:40p. There were a few chairs in the entrance area, of which one was open so my wife sat and held our 2 yr old. 20 minutes in, a staff member arrives and simply asks her to vacate the chair as they needed it. So you take the one chair with the woman and a toddler- classy. The other individuals seated next to her were also appalled and so kindly stood up themselves offering my wife their seats. A 40 minute wait ensued despite a confirmed reservation. The attendant said it gets busy once it hits 7:30- I get that and that is a great sign for business, but what is the point of even confirming a reservation? We were told a few times a table was nearly ready and just had to be cleaned but the wait continued. Thankfully by the time we were seated we knew what we wanted to order and after placing the apps- our first selections arrived within minutes. Note- despite the terrible service up front waiting, our server(s) were on their A+ game! An interview about their Italian family roots in the restaurant business. I'd been coming here twenty or more years. Live up the street. it's easy. Convenient. Decent food. So I walk in through the unlocked door, stumbled upon their eating and well there wasn't any shouting or yelling, there was an attitude as if I was rude for walking in. Now that's no reason for you the neophyte to write off going to this joint. It's the least expensive snd fancy of Summit Italian Restaurants, the food's fine. And hey if the leave the door unlocked at mid-day break, still don't update their webpage or put a sign on the door and you accidentally walk in, I'm sure you'll survive the malocchio. But me? I had more invested over twenty years. I don't expect to 86'd like some rude interloper. It's days like this when i miss sal's tavern in Red Bank - opened during the Depression when times were hard but people weren't hardened. Customers mattered and Sal's employees knew your name. It wasn't a Cheers cliche - it was America. Ah why am I Complaining? I'll be dining in Paris in two weeks and THEN i'll find out what rough service is! Sacre bleu!

Plenty of parking in street if needed. Inside is dark and inviting and they have a cute outdoor dining space as well. They start out by serving fresh Foccacia with seasoned olive oil. For starters , my wife and I shared an eggplant tower, fried eggplant layered with mozzarella and tomatoes. Very good. Our friends shared a salad and enjoyed as well. For mains our friends both ordered the hanger steak, my wife had the salmon, and I ordered their chicken special ( a boneless breast wrapped in pancetta). Everything was not only delicious but plentiful. Owner checked on us several times during our meals. Highly recommend trying this establishment.

The mozzarella and tomato on the tower were good but plain. Olive oil & / or balsamic glaze would have enhanced the flavor greatly. I ordered the rigatoni and sausage which would have been delicious, as the ingredients were fresh and combined nicely, but the dish was way too salty. Same was true for the zucchini side dish. My son ordered the Amish chicken and loved it.Finally, l ordered the ricotta cake to go and when l got home it was a piece of cheesecake with berries inside.Anyway, l would say that if you go, the service will be very good, the atmosphere is lovely and the ingredients are fresh and delectable. My only caution is that if you are sensitive to salt, let the waiter know , which l should have done and will do wherever l go, from now on.
