It's a small, mom-and-pop-like shop which of course is the best kind of restaurant IMO. When I walked in, everything smelled amazing and all the food was covered up, which I can appreciate for cleanliness purposes. I was greeted by a smiling and upbeat Simone, who is super warm and welcoming. This was a very pleasant surprise given how my beautiful Jamaican people do not always get the best rep for customer service (IYKYK). I ordered the oxtail, rice and peas and some jerk chicken. Simon gave me a beautiful, and packed plate. The rice and peas was SOO good, I was happy just eating it by itself. The oxtail pieces were big and juicy and FALL-OFF-THE-BONE good. The cabbage had a distinct color and flavor that I LOVED. I give the overall plate a 9/10 only because I didn't get any carrots with the oxtail or sweet plantains in my order which I personally prefer and personally feel should come with oxtail meals. Also because while the jerk chicken LOOKED AMAZING and was nice enough, it didn't pack as much flavor as I would like and they didn't have a signature sauce with it (again, a personal preference, try it yourself, to see how YOU feel). Overall, this was an awesome experience. I would definitely eat here again and strongly encourage you to give it a try if you haven't yet, even just to experience the pleasure of meeting Simone.

She was not stingy with filling the plate up. The lady that helped us today was sweet as pie. She was warm, sweet and professional. The place was clean and the food aroma filled the room. Pure goodness! I'm so glad I found this place. When my craving for Jamaican food comes back, I now have my go-to place. 100% recommend!

I saw hookah in the garden area and its mention that the brunch is great. I came in for the first time on a week evening for a late dinner. When we sat we noticed that the menu was small and had no prices . Yikes ! Anywho we decided to stay. For drinks we had the lychee dragonfruit margarita 10/10 and Hennessy rum punch 10/10 but they took forever to arrive to the table. For starters we had the lobster fritters which I was imagining something completely different. It was not terrible but I didn't enjoy it. For dinner I had the lobster and shrimp Alfredo pasta which was so flavorful. We also had the oxtail with white rice and plantain which the oxtail was tender and flavorful. Overall the service was a bit slow but the food was fresh and came hot to the table. For was also very good. However it is overpriced for some people as our bill was about $200

We came across Kekoon Restaurant & Lounge in Davie, FL and made reservations, which I highly recommend. The restaurant itself is very nice, with plenty of free parking, which is always a plus. Before we even walked in, we could hear the music from outside and already knew the vibes were going to be on point. Once inside, we were greeted by the hostess and, after a short wait, taken to our table and introduced to our waitress for the night. Our waitress, Ginger, was absolutely beautiful and took great care of us throughout the evening shoutout to her for the excellent service. Since it's a restaurant and lounge, we ordered drinks and appetizers for the table. The oxtail egg rolls were our favorite definitely a must-try. The coconut bang bang shrimp wasn't the best; it was falling apart. The salmon bombs were just okay, and the truffle fries weren't really truffling, if you know what I mean. The drinks were good, but the presentation and taste weren't consistent. We ordered two rounds. I had the Watermelon Pomegranate Cosmopolitan, and my sister ordered the blueberry Don Julio mint mojito and the dragonfruit margarita. One thing to note: there are no prices on the menu, so be prepared to spend money. Drinks were around $20, and a shot was $15, which felt a bit steep considering the location isn't beachfront. Around 11:30 p.m. midnight, a young lady came around offering hookah service. We ordered the blueberry mint hookah for $90, but unfortunately it started getting harsh after about 15 minutes. A quick restroom note: only one of the two toilets was working, and it had run out of toilet paper, which was disappointing especially since the place wasn't even packed. Overall, we had a decent time. The vibes, music, and service (especially Ginger) were highlights, but there are definitely some areas that could use improvement for the price point.

Chef Juliette and the Lickie Stickie crew hold a very special place in my heart. The love and light…read morethat lives in Chef Juliette truly trickles down through her staff and shows up in every detail of the service. No matter when I visit, it's always a warm, hospitable experience--honestly reminiscent of The Ritz-Carlton. Surrounding businesses could learn a great deal from them. I first met Chef Juliette during a visit from DC in September 2025. My best friend introduced us, and immediately I felt the love of a mother and the passion of a seasoned chef who genuinely loves what she does. And that passion? It translates directly through the food. A few weeks ago, I was back in town visiting again, and the energy was exactly the same. We stopped by to pick up a catering order for an event, and Chef Juliette sent us off with pork chop sandwiches so big--and so good--I barely touched the catering food that day (thank goodness for to-go boxes and a freezer). I was able to bring back BBQ chicken, ribs, and the "Turn It Up Rice"--which is out of this world. Perfectly cooked rice layered with crisp vegetables, shrimp, chicken, and brisket... smoky, flavorful, and such a creative spin on fried rice. Then, the day after, Chef invited us back for a VIP experience--and when I say the love is real, y'all... it's real! She prepared a savory seafood étouffée enriched with shrimp and lobster, served over creamy polenta--an elevated take on traditional shrimp and grits. Paired with fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits, sausage from her brother in Georgia, and perfectly crispy bacon... everything was divine. The kind of meal that evokes emotion--the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for. The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming--rich with history and personality. Every time I visit, I discover a new layer of her story which is told along the walls and decor. Chef Juliette is truly something special. If you're ever in the Pompano or Fort Lauderdale area, do yourself a favor and visit Lickie Stickie! And don't leave without trying the baked beans and black-eyed peas--Chef puts okra in them, and I don't want them any other way ever again. Outstanding.
