    Stromboli and Fungi pizza
    Andrea B.

Fellow foodie coworker and I stopped by to give this place a whirl. Over all the food was good. Funny enough we didn't try any of the pasta but the stromboli was good and she had the pizza. What were the down sides? I think pricing is a bit on the high side for what they're offering. Yes everything is expensive and i go to, and pay for, all kinds of food experiences and still thought pricing was high. We also seemed to be an inconvenience to the single waitstaff individual that was there. We were the only diners in there at 1pm on a week day. Questions were met with odd faces. He wasn't rude, we just didn't feel welcomed.

I live a block from here and wanted to try their Monday pasta special! Right as I came in the service was amazing. Got the lentil soup of the day, and was served delicious bread right off the bat. Servers were very attentive and very kind! The ambience was amazing- loved the dim lighting and music as well. Next time im coming back with a few friends to help me finish the large portions and get dessert as well!

Ambiance: it's corner spot Italian restaurant located on the ground level of an apartment building, with packed seating inside and covered patio area outside Service: the service is sort of rude, the bread chips wasn't even served after our main courses brought to the table when all other tables were served first, and I asked one server passing by, and he basically said "talk to your own server", and I had to wait longer and get attention from the other server and was told "it's coming", without acknowledging his negligence, honestly, both servers were rude and it's not a busy night Food & Drink: classic menu for pizza and pasta Pizza Dough Chips - **** served with chimichurri sauce, crispy, recommend Prosciutto - ** Prosciutto de parma, arugula with burrata cheese, stingy on prosciutto and soggy pizza dough Carbonara - **** Spaghetti with pancetta, reggiano, egg yolk and parsley, creamy texture and bold taste, recommend Lagunitas IPA - *** thin cup and light taste Price: moderate portions and slight over priced, expect $30+ per person

My brothers and I came in very hungry and this was one of the few spots still open later at night for a sit-down meal. It's safe to say we made it worth their while by ordering so much food haha. The service was delightful, the ambiance was not bad, and the food was pretty delicious, especially the pastas. We even tried three of the desserts! Below is everything I tried: 5/5 - Verdi Calzone: personally, I think this is the best thing on the menu! A cheesy calzone filled with multiple veggie toppings and served with the delicious marinara sauce on the side. 3.5/5 - Fresca Pizza: It was very fresh tasting, but it wasn't very flavorful. I was a little disappointed since this was supposed to be an upgrade on their Margarita pizza, but now I'm not sure if I would even try the margarita. 5/5 - Arrabiata Pasta: my favorite pasta here for sure, it has a wonderful and flavorful spicy red sauce. Not too spicy, but it has a nice little kick. 4.5/5 - Fettuccini Alfredo Pasta: this was probably one of the best fettuccine alfredo pastas I've ever had. The sauce was very creamy, but it wasn't overpowering. (A bonus hack you can do if you want to add more flavor to a white sauce pasta, mixing some marinara and you get a delicious pink sauce!) 4.5/5 - Cheesecake: it has a nice rich texture but not too dense. This was my favorite dessert here, I would highly recommend it to every new one that likes cheesecake. 4/5 - Tiramisu: this is the most popular dessert, but I'm personally not a huge fan of most tiramisu desserts, especially ones that are heavy on the coffee/espresso flavoring (like this one), but my brothers enjoyed it. 3/5 - Creme Brulee: surprisingly the least popular of the three desserts for us, but nothing particularly wrong with it or very memorable. Food: 4.5/5 Drinks: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4.5/5 (rounding up a little)

Capellini Genovese severely overcooked pasta to the point where its very hard and unappealing

It was valentines day so I understand that service will be slow and everything. However our server forgot what we ordered and had to come back. Im not totally sure why he didnt just write it down-- other reviews mentioned they had issues with the same thing but I didnt believe it u til it happened to my girlfriend and I. Besides that service in general was slow. We waited about 10 minutes for our check to come to us and another 15 for them to take it away then about another 10 for the card to come back to us. Just very slow The food on the other hand was pretty bad. For the price i expected so much more or at least for my shrimp to not be overcooked and my pasta too There were several parts in the pasta that were hard and severely burnt. I understand things can happen but when ur plating the food. u should know to at least remake it. that isnt something u should feel customers at a higher end restaurant. The shrimp was SO overcooked it felt like it was plastic. It was incredibly hard to chew and it just was unpleasant. I couldn't believe that it came with my 34 dollar pasta. Portions were decent. The bread or pita bread -- whatever they were severing -- it came out at the same time as our Caesar salad which we again waited a long time for. It wasnt until the waiters saw me looking around that one of them pointed at my girlfriend and I and we were finally severed our salad and bread. The salad was good. The bread was hard though you could tell it had been sitting out. Overall I wouldnt go again and I would recommend you guys not to go. I thought the bad reviews were maybe a fluke -- THEY R NOT. They are written for a reason and I thought maybe they wouldve improved with the feedback but they have not. Listen to the reviews because they are truthful. Outside ambiance was fine. They seated us right at the entrance so we had to deal with all the customers coming in and being loud as well as car alarms going off on the street. There was several different seats around us not sure why they seated us there maybe because we look younger. The inside is so much nicer than outdoors but everything and i mean everything from outside to inside to walkways to the kitchen its tiny so be aware of ur surroundings

I'm impressed about HOW GOOD is this food. Omg, we came with zero expectations e now we'll definitely become regulars. Everything is rich in flavour and the prepared it pretty fast as well. Francisco, our waiter, is a sweet heart, we cannot wait to come back. 10/10!!

    Luganega
    Oivecx Z.

The Luganega was very tasty. Carbonara was a bit bland and over salted. Chicken Parmigiana was fine, but sort of soggy breading. Main issue was the amount of flies we had to deal with as the meal went on. They started coming out once the food was served. We were seated inside, at the corner.

First off I will start by saying this spot has great customer service from the start we were greeted by an older man which took us to the outdoor seating which is very nice. This spot has a great variety of delicious foods to pick from such as pastas, pizzas, and salads which all looked very good. A few things I will point out is that it's a little pricey, the bruschetta was delicious but the bread under was very soft almost soggy it needed that crunch, the funghi pizza had some olives in it that were so strong almost sour which were good but it definitely needed less olives. The great thing about this spot is that they got specials on Monday for pastas so check them out

To the person who gave 2 stars and claimed other reviews are not genuine: Reviews are not fake just because you don't agree with it. Other people's opinions are valid too. ** I'm back again tonight and happy to report their service was absolutely incredible, second to none. We ordered the fettuccine like last time, but this time also ordered the Fresca pizza. When I was brought to our table I was like oh no... it's full of chopped tomatoes (I hate tomato that's not in a sauce). But oh my goodness...this pizza was SO GOOD!

Left dinner last night and fiance and I agreed - this could have easily been a 5 star meal had service been better. We came here last night for Valentine's Day and despite the food being wonderful, service was so slow & unorganized, which put a damper on our experience unfortunately. We arrived on time for our reservation and waited a few minutes at the hostess stand before someone came and escorted us to our table. Right away as we were seated, things were already unclear - there were 2 menus on the table, 1 of which was a prefixe menu for Valentine's Day, the other which was a normal menu. The server told us if we didn't order from the prefixe menu that each of us would still need to order 3-4 courses each from the regular menu. The server left before we could ask any questions and we were just a bit confused as there were several different categories of food on the main menu and we didn't know which categories we'd be required to order from. We tried to get someone's attention to ask questions and when we finally did get someone they said they didn't really know. Eventually our server came and we asked him to clarify and he told us that as a table we just needed to order $100 minimum worth of food. He took our order (he memorized it/didn't write it down) and when he repeated it back to us it was incorrect. Totally not a big deal at all, but I noticed throughout the night this happened to several other customers and it made me wonder why he didn't just write the orders down. Our food came out very slowly (the entire meal took us over 2 hours) but everything was delicious. The complimentary bread and oil were so flavorful! Unfortunately, there were many other moments throughout the night where service was lacking & the staff seemed so confused and disorganized. I found myself making eye contact with staff multiple times whenever I would need help with something and they would look at me, then look away. We had dirty plates stacked on our table and the server would come to wipe off the table right next to us but never bothered taking our plates. It took us SO long to get our check and when we flagged down the attention of staff to hand over our credit card, the server looked so confused. I completely understand that it was Valentine's Day and that the staff was probably overwhelmed, but toward the end of our meal when we were waiting for our check more than half of the inside of the restaurant was already empty. The workers were really nice though, and as someone who rarely complains about service or leaves a bad review for service, I felt compelled to share about my experience because it did really impact our meal. All in all - genuinely very delicious food, and if the service would improve this restaurant could easily be a 5/5.

Not a big deal. But when our remaining two friends came, they sat them with us and brought out only 1 set of utensils, so we had to ask for it again. Just a small detail that had me a bit confused during the experience, but the food itself was great and we'd love to come back when they reopen

I'm mainly giving such a bad review for the service (or should I say lack thereof). like some of the other poor reviews I read, I had a very unwelcoming experience especially from one of the owners. they clearly are fond of their regulars and the place was filled with all white customers excluding us - that should have been my first sign to leave. although it was not crowded at all when we came and we had a res, it took a while for the owner to seat us. he was about to walk right past us at first. he let us know he'd come back to tell us the specials but after about 10 mins, another waiter came to take our order. the waiter was nice to us but it seemed like he was purposely ignoring us. people who came and ordered after us got their food before us and we were barely checked on (which is usually fine but they went around to literally every other table but ours). I saw how warmly the staff and owner interacted with the other tables and I don't need that level of service, but the basic level wasn't even met. we decided to leave soon after our entrees arrived but it took the longest time to flag someone down to get to-go boxes, then to get the check. not sure if they're racist but that's what I picked up especially as other reviewers with similar experiences are not white either. safe to say, i will not be supporting this restaurant in the future and I only wish I saw a review like this before making a res.
