I just tried this place for the first time tonight and it was outstanding! Everything they make is in house from the pizza dough to their sauces. We ordered the Asiago Stuffed Gnocchi and it was so flavorful! We also got two of their wood fired pizzas which were cooked perfectly. The service was very fast and extremely accommodating. The wait for a table was quick and our waiter was also very friendly and was able to give us some great recommendations. We will definitely be going back again soon! read more

I can't say enough good about this place. Over the last six months I've been here more than I care to count. The service is always fantastic and the food is out of this world. I travel far and wide in search of good food and Fire + Wine is one that tops the list. I've had nearly everything off the menu and have yet to be disappointed. I come from an Italian home and this place gives Nona a run for her money. How can you beat pizza that is cooked in a wood burning oven made with homemade mozzarella or fresh homemade pasta with flour that is imported from Italy. We have eaten here no less than 3 dozen times. This is one of our favorite restaurants. The owners and staff are great people who truly enjoy what they do. They seem like one big happy family. Now to the food. The menu has a wide variety of items. Start with the house salad. Seriously one of the best I've ever had. The menu is filled with top notch dishes from top to bottom. Pizzas are unique always changing. They have dishes that range from octopus, scallops, pasta dishes, hangar steak, prosciutto plate, meatballs, and a killer calzone. Never had a bad dish and they are always prepared perfectly. Wine selection is awesome and wide ranging yet very reasonably priced. The bar tenders can always direct you to something good depending on your preferences. No matter what night of the weak you go, there is typically some wait to get seated. Absolutely amazing. Five stars in every avenue. The pork belly was the best thing ive ever tasted in my life. They gave us a salad on the house just for us to try, all of the meats that we ate were so flavorful and soft. We sat at the bar and our bartender (Alex) was awesome! I was absolutely floored by this place! The menu is outstanding and the food was positively delicious. My wife and I could barely walk out after our meal, the menu lists "small plates" so we figured tiny tapas like portions... wrong! We probably should have started with 2 or 3 instead of the 6 we picked out but everything was so good we finished every last bite. Out of everything we ate I have to give the mussels the top spot, simply amazing. As good as the food was I was equally (if not more so) impressed by the wine list. You just don't see wine menus this eclectic outside of the city. Fantastic variety, great prices and served perfectly. The servers knowledge about the wine put me to shame, which is not an easy feat. Was thoroughly impressed by flour + wine and will definitely be back. I just moved to the area a few weeks ago and I can definitely see this becoming one of my regular staples. When I consulted for national restaurant chains in the late 80's, I experienced the cold disconnect of franchised eateries all too often. But from the moment I entered Fire + Wine, I sensed a great deal of care had been put into the important details that make for a wonderful dining experience. Relaxed, Informed waitstaff, good bartenders, delightful menu, divine wines and I think I even spotted the owner adjusting the lights a bit at sunset just to enhance the mood. I have to agree with Christina C. the Vodka Sauce is heavenly. Having visited Italy, I'm too spoiled to rate 5 stars, but for a great family-style place I can walk to? I'm happy! read more

My wife improved significantly her health. I am pleased with Total Health Institute services. After five months of THI program, my wife improved significantly her triglycerides level. She had been dealing with this issue since many years ago having these as high as 800 level, totally out of range for more than seven years. Now, After five months on the THI program, we thank God, for putting Dr. Nemec and his compassionate staff in our way. They helped her achieve the healthy number of 130 of her triglycerides level. Also her HDL (good cholesterol) went up to 52. Normally it used to be in 45. She is experiencing a great change not only in her body, but also in her mind. Thanks to all of you. read more

I absolutely love this place. It's cozy and classy yet not at all stuffy. It was a very warm environment where you didn't have to watch everything you say, and a little volume was tolerated. It felt like everyone around me was enjoying themselves. That's the kind of atmosphere I like. As for the food, I tried tastes from three different meals and three different appetizers and not one of them let me down. Rich, delicious, and fair portions for the prices, which also were good for a nice restaurant like this. The service was also top notch. Little things like frequent but not overbearing check-ins by the waitresses, always keeping my water full and cold, quick, and simply very pleasant to interact with. Hats off to you for that Amy!! Went to Fire + Wine tonight and had a great time as always. We had a group of 7 originally but it turned into a group of 9. They were very accommodating to make sure we were sat in a timely manner even though our group was larger than I expected it to be. Our server Rachael was amazing. As far as the food goes whatever you get you will be happy with. My boyfriends sister and her fiancé were in from out of town & said they would be going back again before they go back to North Carolina ( my boyfriend and I will be going with we can't pass an opportunity to go to fire + wine). I am giving them a 5-star rating even though we were told a 1-1.5 hour wait and it was a touch over 2. The food is that great! The atmosphere is vibrant and it seemed that everybody we talked to was in a good mood & very friendly. It also seemed that all were return customers too, so that's a great sign. They have a funky "priority wait list", so try to figure it out and use it to prevent a little wait. Everything we had to eat was fantastic! The Black Pepper Shrimp was my favorite dish. Or was it the beef tenderloin medallions? No wait, it was the Duroc Pork Shank. Tuscan Kale Salad, that was it! The pizza was great too. Once seated, the food was delivered very fast by a lovely, friendly waitress. Even the staff help were nice. Try the Gelato Sampler to finish off your meal and you will go home pleased & plump. We had a very nice dining experience at Fire + Wine. While they do not take reservations, we did call ahead and ask for Expedited Seating as their were two members in our party in their 80s. They were very gracious and accommodated the request, and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was very busy and vibrant on a Tuesday night. We started with a variety of small plates as appetizers: Crab Cakes, Burrata, Zucchini Fries and Pork Belly. All were well prepared and presented beautifully. We ordered a number of pasta dishes, salads and seafood for our entrees, and they also were excellent in flavor and eye appeal. For dessert we choose several gelato flavors, the Italian donuts, and a Budino. The gelato and the Budino were great; the donuts were a little heavy and deteriorated fast on the plate, becoming crusty and hard quickly. But if you eat them immediately, they are very good. The only downside of the meal was that the service was a bit overzealous and quirky. Things like thrusting water bottles between our heads from behind and a restrictive guidance on the menu made for some frightening and awkward moments with our waitperson. Overall, it was a nice evening and we will return. read more

Everyone. We have just been to the worst restaurant ever. Fire+Wine in Glen Ellyn. They initially told us 20 to 30 mins for a table. So we went walked around. We came back at exactly 20 mins. The hostress said she gave the table to someone esle. I was like WHF!!!! Then she told me she will have a table for us in a few. 15 more mins later. My kids were starving. I walked in asking how much longer. She said "Well we dont know. We will have a table for you when people leave." Then I said I have been waiting for 45 mins. She said to me "So you want to wait or what!!!!" What a nice way to treat your customer. I was furious told her I am taking my business somewhere else. To be honest, I don't care how good their food is, the first impression is the initial reception, for me the reception worth zero star, none!!! read more

My husband took me to Fire and Wine for my birthday and although we had a 45 minute wait I must say I really did enjoy the food. So when I told him I'd like to return he said OK. I told him lets wait til Valentines Day and make that a date. In the beginning of Feb... I visit their website that clearly says "we do not take reservations". So I call anyway and and asked if I could make a reservation. She responds we don't take reservations. However, she never mentioned you could call ahead. I respond Ok and let my husband know we should probably go early knowing that they get crowded in the evening. Fast forward to V-Day 2016 and the wonderful little snow storm that decided to visit the Chicagoland area. We decided to still go figuring maybe people will stay in because of the weather. We live in Naperville so it took us about 40 min to drive there because there was not a plow in sight and the streets were awful. We arrive and my husband drops me at the door... when I walk in and ask for a table for two she says "Do you have a reservation".... WTF????? I just give her a blank look and say .... what do you mean? I called and I was told you didn't take reservations. She responds oh we took reservations for today and our list has been booked for a couple of weeks... (isn't that the beg of Feb when I originally called) Then she says did you call ahead? (Wait.....isn't that a reservation?) I respond NO.... i didn't know that I could call ahead. Then she said we can put you on the list and maybe some of our reservations will not show up. Well guess what.... they were all showing up. People were coming in with groups of 6 and 7 kids in tow screaming everywhere. I didn't think it was appropriate for kids to be in the bar. As we stood at the bar praying for a table, because by now we were starving, it began to get more and more crowded and it was clear the hostesses were completely overwhelmed and barely able to manage it all. So we said F it and decided to leave. My husband kept apologizing to me because he felt bad that V-Day date that we had been looking forward to for over a month was ruined. We ended up going to another restaurant but by then the entire day was kind of a bust. Considering I was given misinformation on the website and also over the phone I felt as though some accommodation should be made to rectify the situation especially when we made every effort to play by "their" rules. The bottom line is this.... you get tons of business and yes the food is pretty good but there needs to be a system in place to accommodate your guests. Your bar is as big as a womens bathroom..... cramming guests in there as if its a waiting area is not the ideal situation. If you plan to take reservations for a specific day... list that on your website. Disregarding a guests efforts with no apology or no explanation is not acceptable. While i enjoyed Fire and Wine the first time I can't say I will be back. I also can't say I'm willing to lose any friendships over recommending it to someone else either. Please, do not go here if you don't want to be made to feel as though you are literally the trash on the side of the street! I went with my friend and boyfriend on a Friday night and like any typical restaurant, there was a little wait time. The area by the door is quite small so they hurdle you like cattle over by their conveniently placed bar. We wanted to be by the door, which began to anger the hostesses. One of them even rudely told my friend that now we would be waiting longer since we did not go to the waiting area at the bar. My friend asked for a glass of water with lemon and then we went outside to wait for our table. As we were outside, we decided that we wanted to speak with a manager. We went inside to speak with a manager which resulted in the hostess rolling her eyes. She stated that the manager would be outside in a minute to speak with us. When the manager came outside, he spoke to us in a rude and condescending tone as though we were not capable of speaking English and then even accused me of being drunk ( I had not had consumed one alcoholic beverage) because I was holding my friend's water and lemon. When I informed him that it was not alcoholic, he stuttered and said that supposedly we still could not drink water outside. He never once apologized to us and walked away. In return we walked away as well and went down the street to Vitorio's which had amazing food for better prices! read more
