My first impression walking in was that this place is very clean. One of the workers was wearing gloves and sanitizing all of the tables, chairs, doors so that itself makes me feel comfortable coming here. I like how even this long into the pandemic this business is still taking it seriously! We ordered the 40 wings family pack which came with 4 separate flavors and 4 separate dipping sauces, a side of large fries, a large side of our choice (we chose tater tots as if the fries were not enough starch - haha!), and a side of veggie sticks. We chose bone-in for the wings and the 4 flavors we ended up trying were Louisiana Rub, Lemon Pepper, Mango Habanero, and Fire Wing. I think the dry rub and classic sauces for the wings were good but not as spectacular as the hype makes it out to be. The tater tots were overdone so they were hard and not crispy as I would have expected. Also, the ranch dipping sauces for the veggie sticks tasted very diluted. Yay for Fire Wings in San Jose :) This one is located over on Story Rd and I hope they open more locations in SJ in the future (hopefully a south SJ location or one closer to SJSU in downtown? :) I'm from Sacramento and loved Fire Wings (I think it was their first location over on Bruceville Rd/ near EG), so I was so excited when they opened one in San Jose! Since I moved to SJ, I have been stuck with Wing Stop and Smoke Eaters (both are ok), but Fire Wings is the best! I love their lemon pepper wings. I usually get the 20 piece combo and split with my friend since we can select 2 flavors each. The wings are pretty good and surprisingly they held up really well after eating them hours later without reheating. You can really taste the flavors for each one. I do hope that they expand to more exotic flavors or maybe a couple rotational/seasonal flavors. The dry rub wings are typically naked with no breading and come out kinda small. I think in return they kick you with a couple few extra wings. The breaded wings I got exactly 5 each for an order of 10. Dry Rubs- Cali: True to its word. Tastes like bbq except in dry rub form. Enjoyed the flavor and thought it was solid. Good but would try a diff flavor for next time. Malaysian Curry: Wasnt exactly sure how this would taste. Theres a hint of curry but its not too overpowering. I thought it was pretty solid as well, but would prob try a new flavor. Fusion- Peanut Butter: Not overly peanut buttery. The chicken wings here are really good! I knocked through a 20 piece wing in like 15 minutes. I tried the Garlic Parm, Saigon Street, Jamaican Jerk, and Dragon. The Garlic Parm was delicious and definitely garlicky. The Jamaican Jerk had that allspice, nutmeg, and thyme flavor I look for in a jerk chicken, but I'd like more kick and scotch bonnet flavor. I had to update my review since the last few times I've been here the service has been SOOOO dreadful. I order online and set a pick up time. I live about 15 minutes away so i head out to pick up ~10 minutes before my pickup time. When i get there, the employees would just look at me, no acknowledgement that I'm there. Then after a few minutes I get helped, at this point it's already been at least 10 minutes past my pickup time and my food isn't ready. I'm then told "it'll be a couple more minutes". 30 minutes after my pickup time, my food is FINALLY ready. Why did i order ahead? The first time, i brushed it off cause i thought they were busy. Hayward doesn't have good reviews and San Mateo has gone downhill so I was so happy when I saw the San Jose location was having a soft opening finally I knew I had to stop by. This location is in a small but fairly busy shopping center but I never had an issue finding parking. They have a nice sized area of outdoor dining in front of the restaurant and it's covered. The interior is pretty spacious and very clean, they have a flat screen tv or two for when indoor dining is back. I ordered my usual 10 piece meal getting Garlic Parmesan/Dragon Wings with seasoned fries and I also tried their Fried Zucchini. Omg the food was cooked to perfection and that's no exaggeration!! The wings were perfectly cooked super crispy on the outside and the inside was still moist and tender. The garlic Parmesan wings were very garlicky and good. The dragon wings were sauced very well and also super crispy. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. Now that fried zucchini was a game changer, the breading was so good and crispy while the zucchini inside was nice and soft and it was ever better dipped in ranch. I would go back just for those lol. I've been back a second time and I'm sure I will be back even more when I need to get my wing fix. Wings are one of my favorite foods so when I saw this opening close by, I knew I had to try it! We placed our order by phone around 7 on a Sunday night and the estimated pick up time was around 15 mins. We got the 20 piece wings combo (dragon, mango habanero, garlic parmesan), garlic parmesan fries, ranch & honey mustard. Dragon: Very crispy garlic fish sauce flavor. I wasn't expecting to like it because I don't really like fish sauce but it did not disappoint. I've always wanted to try the Sacramento location when visiting that area, but it seems like Fire Wings came to me instead! I went on a Tuesday night, ordered online around 5:20pm and the order was ready for pick-up by 5:40pm (so fast and easy!). I got the 20-wing combo with ranch and subbed garlic noodles. Got fries on the side. The wings have a lot of meat on them! Here's the flavors I got: Hot - I don't see too many reviews about these because I thought it would be terribly spicy, but for a place called Hot Wings, it's actually not that hot! The comparisons I had are to Wingstop and Smoke Eaters. This Hot flavor is similar to buffalo sauce and while it tingles my mouth, it wasn't something to drink a bunch of water from. It's less spicy than the Smoke Eaters' spiciest flavor. Cali Rub - My brother and I were hesitant about this because we didn't understand what it was. It sounded like a BBQ-flavored dry rub. When we got it, it's hard to describe but tasted like a smoky, very mild cajun/curry mix. It was not too strong on either flavors but I definitely could tell it was kind of like a curry smell. Peanut butter - Tastes like the peanut sauce that you eat with meat skewers! There's also breading on there which was something that I didn't know it had nor see often at chicken wing places; it reminded me of how Korean wings are battered. This sauce is sweet and mild. I think there was a bit of spice but not exactly sure since I still had the Hot flavor in my mouth at the time. I think it was tasty but not addictive. Upon my first visit here, I noticed that they had outdoor seating but the tables were pretty close together so I opted for take out. We ordered the 20 wing option which allows us to pick 3 flavors and 2 sauces so we got Garlic Parmesan, Thai Chili, and Saigon Street and sides of ranch. We also got a small order of garlic noodles, which totaled everything altogether to be $29 which I find extremely cheap, especially given how much food we got! Garlic Parmesan(5/5): I was super delighted when I took my first bite because it was soooo crispy. The garlic flavor is very present and they do NOT skimp on the parmesan powder! The freshly grated parmesan they use on top is the perfect addition to it. I will say it did get a bit oily though, especially at the bottom. Thai Chili(4/5): Thai Chili tasted like a mix of basil and chili flakes to me with some kind of tamarind sauce maybe? I'm not the best at describing flavors, but this one is yummy it definitely has a bit of a kick to it! Definitely gives me Thai food vibes so they nailed that. Saigon Street(4/5): This flavor reminded me of the red sweet and sour sauce mixed with sambal. I will say that although the flavor is tasty, it's a bit on the sweeter side and I would find it easy to get sick of if I don't rotate flavors with something else. I wish it had a kick to it like Thai Chili, but nonetheless it's still good! What really stands out about this place to me is that the wings are not only saucy, but they are able to make it crispy as well at the same time! Other places, such as Wingstop, make their wings either crispy from dry-rub or saucy from wet wings, but here you get both in one which is why I enjoyed my wings so much. When I went to pick-up the process was super fast and easy. The employee got my order right when she saw me walk in and I paid at the counter. The employee helping me also wore gloves and got my soda from the machine for me; A+ on cleanliness! I got the 8piece meal with garlic parmesan and salt and pepper wings, a side of garlic noodles, and sierra mist (they don't have sprite or coke). The wings were pretty normal in size. The food wasn't hot at all when I got home but the wings were still quite crunchy. I loved the salt and pepper wings and the garlic parm was pretty good too but definitely more parm than garlic. The garlic noodles were surprisingly good!!!!! Super flavorful and also a strong parm flavor (if you like that then yay). I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the wings are. Malaysian curry wasn't really authentic curry, more of a powdered flavor with a similar taste to some snacks or chips. But it was still really addictive and good. I liked the garlic Parmesan more, it had garlic paste on the chicken which made me feel like I was eating garlic bread. My friend and I were driving on Story Rd on Wednesday (8/26) and saw that it was open to decided to go check it out. We found out that it was still during their soft opening and their grand opening was going to be Saturday (8/29) and found out that they were doing 50% combo meals. During the soft opening, the cashier girl was super nice and asked the kitchen to drop of chicken order in so that it can start cooking. Really appreciated it so we didn't have to wait super long! Of course I couldn't miss the super good deal so I came back Saturday! I arrived a little after they opened (a little past 11AM) and there were already people waiting for their food. Due to COVID, they have a tent right outside their store with outdoor seating, but keep in mind space is limited. As for indoors, they the sides taped off so from the entrance to the cash register, it's just a straight line. While I was waiting to order, they were giving out fire wings shirts, which was a nice plus for people that were interested. A few disappointing things for me was, I went to order and I was told that I can only get the discount for 1 meal. When I initially read the flyer I didn't realize it was it was 1 discount per person. This was sad for my husband and I since we have a newborn I came alone to get the food while my husband stayed at home so I ended up getting one meal only. Additionally I didn't realize the drink they came with the meal was only going to be Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, or water since they had the drink fountain machine on the side but I presume this wasn't used due to COVID. Grand opening yesterday! I love this place and have been to Elk Grove and San Mateo locations previously. I saw the sign maybe 6 months ago and I've been excited since. The owner came out to greet us, and made sure our order was correct; an excellent gesture that was much appreciated.  We ordered the 8pc wing combo of DRAGON & SAIGON STREET (half boneless), fire fries, garlic noodles, and a few beers. Was it good? Garlic noodles: 5/5 - I absolutely loved the garlic noodles (and I generally love garlic noods in general) - but the chow mein noodles were so chewy, garlic and umami flavor plenty, and good amount of parmesan to tie it altogether. Garlic Parmesan: 5/5 - this was the best garlic parm I've ever had. It wasn't super "salty" like wingstop but the garlic parm flavor stood out (bit more parm than garlic). The crisp and crunch tho - out of this world. Never had wings THAT crispy before - like it was deep fried in tempura or something! SO good. Would def order again. Dragon: 5/5 - this was surprisingly really flavorful! Kind of like a sweet soy - very, very juicy. I normally don't like wet wings but I really enjoyed chowing down on these. So glad to see more and more Fire Wings locations popping up in the South Bay! Fire wings has been my go-to wings spot for the past few years now and I haven't met a single person who didn't like it. My top flavors are Saigon Street, Salt & Pepper, and Korean Kick. I usually overlook fries but their fire fries are surprisingly so good. They're satisfyingly crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Their garlic noodles are usually okay but this time around they came out super dry. Super mediocre wing spot, there are way better alternatives and I mean way better. Not to bash the restaurant or anything but we ordered a lot of wings and most of them came out dry and tasted very salty. The service okay it took normally longer than most times averaging from 30-45 minutes. The vibe of the store was just plain and simple although some of the seats and tables were dirty. My husband and I decided to try Fire Wings on a Friday evening since it's new in the neighborhood. We placed the order online for pick up. Food: Traditional Fried Chicken Sandwich - My husband enjoyed this. It was a pretty standard chicken sandwich. Garlic Fries - These were delicious with a good amount of garlic. Seasoned Fries - These were standard, but good. Service: When I first arrived, there were signs to point to the pick up area and to the ordering area. That was nice. I arrived when my estimated time stated to, but I was told my food wouldn't be ready for another 20-25 minutes. I wish the estimation was better, but the restaurant was pretty busy when I was there. Later on, I actually received a text to say my food was ready. That was appreciated. Next time I'll know to wait for the text message before asking for my food. I actually really love fire wings the last time I had it but it was just at a different location. This time around when I came to eat me and my girlfriend wanted something small to just munch on so we got the "fire fries" and "jalapeño poppers". Fire fries were the biggest disappointment i've ever had, the fries were just super soggy and you can't even taste the fries it just tasted like buffalo sauce and vinegar mixed and was not enjoyable at all unfortunately :(. Everything about it was really overwhelming and I wouldn't recommend ordering it again. However jalapeño poppers were really nice! Nice and crispy and melted in your mouth but a little too much cream cheese for my liking. We walked up to the kiosk and ordered everything but we were greeted by a kind gentlemen at the front when we picked up our food. Maybe next time i'll just come for the wings but not the small bites preferably. read more

Glad they finally opened a spot in sj! Use to go to the one in Hayward. I would say this one is better since they really sauce up your wings. They have outdoor seating, not a lot but when I went on the weekend, people mostly ordered togo. I've tried all their flavors and if you want spicy, the fire wing flavor is really the only spicy one they have. I also tried the Korean kick this time and it was good and sweet.The garlic noodles is a must ! read more

The wings are decent. They have a great variety of flavors for the wings. We've been doordash their wings and it wasn't as crispy as we'd expect when we received it. The packaging could be improved to keep the wings more crispy. read more

FLAVOR (4/5): Really enjoyed some of their unique fusion flavors. Personal favorite was Saigon Street, which had a hint of fish sauce, and Thai Chili which is reminiscent of sweet and sour sauce. The Dragon had a thick batter coating around the wings - first bite had no chicken at all. Also on the drier side for that flavor. Tried their Garlic Parmesan and didn't have much complaints on that classic. INSTAGRAM WORTHY (3/5): There's only outdoor seating in the parking lot during COVID. Their wings might look messy but can still stack up a picture if you took the time for it. SERVICE (2/5): When we ordered we got our water cups right away and had no issues with our questions regarding substitutions, flavors, etc. However, our order took 35 minutes to get to our hands. Mind you - 4 other people can in for food delivery pick up and left before we had our orders. As a person who worked in a restaurant, we prioritized walk in orders over food delivery. Having checked in and given inaccurate wait times it was frustrating. Not a great spot for office individuals who wanted to go out for lunch for their hour break on a Thursday. TAKE AWAYS: Just sitting in their parking lot, I had cars roll down their window to ask us to move the table closer in so they can park next to us (there's caution tape wrapped around the tent). The tables/floor were not swept/wiped down. The wait time really killed us for not being able to enjoy the wings hot. $35 for 25 wings, a side of fries and veggie sticks. They should let you substitute the veggie sticks because let's be honest - if you're buying chicken wings the last thing you want is a veggie stick. read more

Pretty good wings! Was recommended to try this place from a friend. Sooo many choices of wing flavors, I was definitely overwhelmed. Wing flavors to get: lemon pepper, dragon and mango habanero! They were crispy and coated in just enough sauce... yum!! Personally, I didn't think the mango habanero was as spicy as I anticipated, but it did have a slight kick... my boyfriend can't eat super spicy but really likes it here, so if you like the taste of mango hab but can't handle heat this one's for you. Our meal came with sides: - seasoned garlic fries - garlic noodles Both of these were alright. Fries were a little over cooked. Noodles did not any wow factor, not much flavor to them. Wait was about 15-20 minutes, they have a text notification when the food is ready. Outdoor seating is available for customers with socially distanced tables. Major YUM! I've been test driving wings lately. Wing Stop, The Garret, Jake's, etc. Today I discovered Fire Wings. It's the winner, for sure. Big wings, perfectly cooked, well-drizzled with deelish sauce AND the best blue cheese dip of the bunch. The staff were friendly and helpful. Fire Wings on Story definitely needs better quality control and customer service. My boyfriend called in an order for wings, two orders of fries and a chicken sandwich for dinner on Friday 9/22/23. When he arrived, the fries and sandwich were done, but the staff told him that the wings would take a few more minutes. He spent nearly 40 more minutes waiting for the 10 piece wing order to be completed (5 Saigon Street / 5 Lemon Pepper) and by the time those were done, the rest of the food was cold and stale. What kind of restaurant gives you fries and then proceeds to have you wait for 40 more minutes?!?! A HUGE amount of fries went into the trash. We even tried to re-air fry them but they were hopeless. Also, the wings were super small and not worth it. The previous time we came here, it was pretty chaotic too. But after this last time, we will never come back. Ordered 20 piece for 32.89 and got dragon, Cali rub, and lemon pepper. This wasn't my first time ordering and I've had these same flavors before. However, today's order prompted me to write a review. Pretty solid wing spot in Vietnam Town! I came here on a Friday afternoon for a lateish lunch and there were a few people dining in there. It's a pretty casual spot: you order up at the front and they bring food out to you. I took my dad here and here's what we got: - Asian Chicken Salad (4/5): again, decent, but nothing to write home about. It was just the chicken tenders added to the salad with oranges. - (3) Lemon Pepper Tenders (4/5): Decent, but sort of underseasoned. They hada. nice crisp to it and the meat was juicy, at least! - (6) Boneless Lemon Pepper Wings w/ Garlic Fries (3/5): The boneless wings had way less seasoning than the tenders, which was kind of weird. They were okay at best for me. Maybe if I got a different flavor then the wings might have tasted a little bit better. BEST WINGS I'VE HAD IN THE BAY!!! I'm typically a sandwich guy, but today, I was feeling bold so I went for the wings! I got one half "Dragon" and the other half "Peanut Butter" flavors! I'm blown away! The texture is beautifully crisp and juicy inside. The flavors are top notch and unlike anything I've had!
