Peanut butter wings (front), Cali rub (back) and garlic noodles

I wouldn't say this place has a sports bar vibe; more of a fast food vibe. But, the wings were crunchy and the garlic noodles were cheesy and chewy. I recommend visiting for the $1 wing Wednesday, otherwise the pricing is pretty steep. Service was friendly and I appreciated the self-serve tablet.

My family always comes here every couple weeks to get our wing fix. This is the only spot we go to that has great service and friendly staff. The tables are always clean and decent bathroom. It's always a hit when going to fire wings in San Mateo we don't go anywhere else! The staff is amazing and we are never disappointed.

This was my first time trying Fire Wings -- and man, was it fire! We came on a Wednesday for their Wing Wednesday deal: bone-in wings for just 95 cents each. There's a 10-wing minimum, but that's easy to hit, especially for groups. They offer combos (6/8/10 wings with 1-2 flavors) or bulk by the piece (10/20/40/60/100 wings). We went for 10 wings per flavor for 40 total which was perfect for our super hungry crew. - Dragon Wings -- thick, sweet glaze with a salty-tangy kick; garnished with green onions; bold Asian-style flavor; my #2 pick - Buffalo Wings -- classic tangy red-orange sauce; not my personal favorite, but a solid American-style wing - Lemon Pepper Wings -- dry rub with bright lemon zest and a bold but subtle seasoning; especially good with dips - Salt & Pepper Wings -- packed with seasoning and extra jalapeños; bolder than the typical Cantonese version; my favorite flavor of the night (#1) - Garlic Noodles -- al dente, bouncy, drier-style noodles with parmesan and herbs; a go-to Fire Wings side - Fries -- seasoned, crispy, and on the thicker side; classic and satisfying We sat outdoors on their patio in downtown San Mateo, which closes some streets to create a lovely pedestrian zone. It was peaceful, great for people-watching, and a perfect spot to feast. The inside had a spacious, sports bar-like vibe with TVs and plenty of tables. Service was kind & fast as we quickly got our wings & sides. Overall, the experience was excellent: tasty wings, generous portions, and unbeatable value on Wednesdays. If you're into wings, Fire Wings is definitely worth checking out, especially with friends.

I like the concept of this place: LOTS of different flavors, fast & easy service, bar-like atmosphere. But.....the star of the show, the fried chicken, isn't great. We got extra crispy and the outside was just that, but it was dry and lacked any flavor on the inside. They need to be preseasoned with some base. Out of the 3 flavors we tried, Saigon Street was the best but needed MORE sauce. Lemon Pepper was surprisingly good and paired nicely with our dips. The Malaysian Curry Rub.....absolutely no flavor haha. It was like a bit of paprika and not even salty. On top of everything, I think the wings are pretty expensive (over $1/wing for TINY wings is crazy). I MIGHT come back on Mondays when they have a 90-something cents/wing deal....but I'd probably be better off just eating regular fried chicken at a fast food chain tbh.

The FRIES are soooo good fresh I'd even put them up against five guys fries and burger king fries IYKYK. The staff was very friendly. I ate inside and was able to watch the game. It's definitely a nice little spot you can sit and chat at. Try the Asian flavors that's what fire wings is known for. I personally like dragon(unagi flavor) and the Saigon(fish sauce flavor). Both are sweet and savory. The Garlic parm is perfectly seasoned at Fire wings is not as salty as wing stop's.

I've been a weekly regular since they opened. Prices have gone up considerably over the years. They still have deals on Wednesdays. Overall good deal but the consistency varies for quality and size of wings. Service is generally good. 4 stars usually but I have a complaint today: I ordered cheese fries and the amount of cheese on the fries is laughable. see pic.

The wings were savory, delicious, and cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, even though we ordered from the kiosk. The bathrooms were also clean, which is always a plus! However, while the fries were tasty, I wish they had been a bit warmer -- especially since we were dining in. It seemed like they might have been prepared before the wings.

The service and food here is deteriorating by day... there is no sauce at all.... Tastes disgusting...

This place is a great place to get a quick bite with a group or alone! I came on a Tuesday night for dinner with a friend and it was still crowded around 7:30pm. There were people eating inside and lots of people getting their orders to go. We ordered the 20 piece family meal which comes with 20 wings, veggies, 2 sauces, and either fries/garlic noodles. We ordered the dragon, lemon pepper, and teriyaki flavors. Dragon tasted like soy garlic. The lemon pepper was very good and teriyaki was teriyaki. My favorite was dragon flavor. The garlic noodles were very good and we also spent extra to get a side of fries. The veggies were carrots and celery. They didn't have their own sauce, but I used my wing sauce for it. I liked the flavor and by the time we finished we were so full. They had a large portion and the wings were decent size. Will definitely be back!

We came to this place hungry - but that's not the point. Honestly, we were expecting more of a fine dining or restaurant-style ambiance, so we were pretty surprised to find it felt more like a fast food chain. That said, we love trying different wing flavors, and wings are definitely our thing. We ordered three kinds: Thai Chili, Fire Wings, and Malaysian Curry Rub. We enjoyed all of them, but my heart stayed with the Fire Wings. We'll definitely be back when the wing cravings hit again - the goal is to try them all!

Why does this place appear as halal? Is it halal?

    Sorry we are not halal.

When looking up halal places, this comes up... is the meat halal?

Nope nothing is halal. I thought the same and drove up to the location. The person behind the counter says they don't have any halal options.

What kind of oil is used to fry your wings? Asking for a soy allergy, as cannot have soybean oil or any soy products.…

We use canola oil to fry. But for our breaded wings we do use soy sauce as a ingredient to marinate it.…

Are your bone-in wings gluten free or do you coat them in starch? Thanks

Our breaded wings aren’t gluten free. However our Original Buffalo, Buffalo Stamped, Fire, and lemon pepper flavors are gluten free. You can’t always order just naked wings as well.

When I type in halal restaurants, your place comes up as halal. Do you serve halal meat?

We do not serve halal meat.

    Any Vegetarian burgers?

No, but they do have salads, macaroni and cheese, jalapeño poppers etc.

Is there seafood on garlic noodle?

We use oyster and fish sauce in our garlic noodles.

Are you open for New Years?

Yes, we are open with regular business hours.

I don't think they have a designated email. But if you go to their website, they have a 'Contact' page where you can enter your info, which Fire Wings location, and enter your message to them.

Do you do party or family platters for your Garlic Noodles?

We currently don’t have platter pricing for garlic noodles. If you call/email us we can come up with a price to suit your party size.

    Do they deliver?

Unfortunately we do not offer delivery at this time.

Is there a simple option/order to try all the flavors of wings? And if so, how much is it?

Unfortunately we don’t have that option.

I notice one of the flavors consist of Peanut Butter By any chance, is any of the food items on the menu consist of any peanut oil and/or tree nuts?

We ordered the tofu soup and oxtail soup. I honestly didn't enjoy the tofu soup much, it was heavily flavored with msg and it overpowered the gochugaru and lacking traditional flavor. It wasn't for me. On the opposite, the oxtail soup was pretty solid and we would order it again. The other letdown was the banchan, it was unfortunately very bland, especially the kimchi which was very under seasoned. Overall, not a bad spot to have a comforting meal but note the flavors might not be consistent with traditional flavors.

Service was impressively fast without feeling rushed however the food took awhile to come out which was a bit too long. Here's what we tried: Beef Rib Noodle Soup - The standout dish of the meal. It came with two huge, tender ribs, and the meat literally slid off the bone. The broth was clear yet rich, full of flavor, and perfect for a comforting meal. Seaweed Rice with Spam - A simple but hearty side. The portion was big, with a thick slice of Spam on top of seasoned seaweed and fluffy rice. Great for sharing or for someone who wants a filling add-on. Jajangmyeon - Very generous serving size, and the noodles were nicely chewy. The sauce was on the lighter side -- still tasty, but I personally prefer a deeper, bolder black bean flavor. Overall, K-Noodle is a solid choice in Burlingame if you're craving a satisfying Korean noodle meal that is if you can wait. Affordable, fast, and that rib soup alone is worth coming back for! We'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu.
