I was a little daunted by the price point, but after seeing how large the sandwiches and salads are, I think it's well worth the price! The sandwiches and salads are easily big enough for two people with how stuffed and loaded they are. I personally really enjoyed the barbecue chicken salad and I'm looking forward to trying to king Louie next time! I prefer the wheat bread over the Dutch crunch here. With a name like Sandwich Monkey...I am very curious.  First of all the shop is part of an apartment complex.  There is parking but most of the parking spots are marked "visitor parking". We phoned in our order when we realized that when you order online it goes thru Grubhub. Wanted to make sure the shop did not have to pay any service fees. We ordered: The  #12 - Italian Jungle($13.20)  on a sweet roll.  Loaded with veggies... artichoke hearts, pepperoncinis, and the normal sandwich veggies.  There was supposed to be oregano and a garlic sauce.... but honestly I did not taste any of that.  There was a real thin layer of salami, capicola, mortadella and provolone .  Honestly the sandwich is a bit on the bland side.  I could barely taste the vinegar but nothing really stood out.   The #02 - Monkey's Uncle ($12.50) on Dutch Crunch.  The mistake here is this is a toasted sandwich...as you might imagine what happens when you toast Dutch Crunch.... the top of the roll was well charred... so it will shred the roof of your mouth much more efficiently.  This is their interpretation of a warmed Reuban.   Really good sandwich... the meat to bread to filling ratio was pretty good and this was actually a decent value.  The sauerkraut is not overpowering...it was a really good balance of flavor.   -- Jerry G. Over the years I've just been less and less happy with the sandwich and finally I can say I'm done. My latest visit the regular guy that helps you at the register was there. He seemed off, not friendly, didn't greet or thank me for coming in. i ordered the king Louie. The chicken was dreadfully DRY, almost as if it was old and reheated and sadly used for my sandwich. I ordered the #9 Avo Gobble on sweet roll. Every ingredient is thinly sliced and super fresh. I love their turkey, shredded lettuce, a few thinly sliced red onions, American cheese slices, yellow mustard and mayo. You have a choice of (2) sizes; Hungry or Starving. I ordered Starving just to see the sizing. It's massive, about from my elbow to my fingers tips massive. The sweet roll is perfection! You're given many bread options but I'm partial to sweet rolls. It's not scrawny and it's not a big bunch of bread. Overall, I really enjoy this sammie. I ate half later. Next time I'll order Hungry sized sammie. I'm sad I haven't found them sooner. They've been around for many years and do some serious sammich making. A little side note, one of my first jobs was working in a very popular NY style deli making sammies. Peeps loved my sammies so much they would request me to make them. These sammies threw me back to those sammies, especially the turkey meat. I have not had great turkey sammie meat like this since back at that first job. On my breaks I would make myself sammies. Man, I was living the dream in my teens, haha. I love deli sandwiches. They're my favorite lunch food. This place bummed me out from the gitgo. The staff seemed disinterested and unhappy. There were no smiles or even a hello. The music was loud, too, for some reason. Everything seemed odd. Anyway, I had to tell the guy that it was my first time. He gave me a few of the popular choices and I settled on the pastrami and also a turkey avacado. Long story short. The pastrami sandwich was terrible. There was no flavor. The sandwich fell apart and was messy (see picture). Parts of the roll were hard like it was stale. It was just a bummer. I didn't finish it and I finish everything. I just powered through my $40 lunch as best I could. The rest I balled up and threw the rest away. The turkey avacado wasn't much better. Management: Turn down the music. Almost a 5 star review... my only problem here is the price. I came in on a Saturday around 1:30 to get sandwiches for my fiancé and me. She finished half for lunch and will eat the other half for dinner. The Angry Monkey had the perfect amount of spicy ness. Not too spicy to eat, but just enough kick to get me going. I was impressed with the chicken. I'm always hesitant to order food with chicken since it usually comes out dry, but the chicken was surprisingly moist. The BBQ Pork Greek Sandwich was good. I wish I would have asked for the fries to be well done so they were crunchy when I ate it. They seemed a little undercooked if anything. It had good flavor. If I were to order it again, I would ask for some veggies on it to give it a little lightness. The size of the sandwiches were decent. You have an option of 6" or 9" and I got the 9" for each. I was able to finish both my sandwiches and felt full. Overall, the flavors were good. I can't confidently say it was worth the price though. At just over $42 for three sandwiches, my pockets were sad and empty. If their prices were more affordable I would be eating here a lot more often. read more

The bread is almost always dry so I felt compelled to leave feedback. If the bread was fresher this could be a 4 star sandwich spot. Service is good, and there isn't much of an ambiance. The service counter and lobby are very plain. This seems like a brand that hasn't quite found its identity, or hasn't quite found what makes them stand out from other sandwich shops. They claim to be a bbq spot but there is no sign or smell of anything being barbecued. I will continue to support this local small business because it's in my area and is decently priced as well, but I do think fresh bread should be a top priority for any sandwich shop. read more

Came here today for lunch after an intern on our team found this place on Yelp and stated it had really good ratings (3.5 stars is not exactly my definitely of "really good" ratings; but I digress). Located near a lot of fast food eateries, Sandwich Monkey is unfortunately a bit easy to miss compared to many of the large chains which dominate much of the prime real estate that is visible from the main roads. However should you just drive past those establishments, you'll find a small sandwich shop named Sandwich Monkey. Free parking is readily available in front of the store, and the shop itself is very clean with seating available both inside and outside the establishment. The cashier was very friendly, and the sandwiches came out after about 10mins of waiting. Much like Ike's, all the sandwiches at Sandwich Monkey have funny names. However what I found the most entertaining was the name of the sizes. The medium sandwich is called "hungry", while the large is called "starving". I opted for a large Monkey's Uncle on Dutch Crunch, which consisted of pastrami, swiss, sauerkraut, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Although I did look at the example size bread they had on the counter to make my size determination for my sandwich, the large sandwich that came out was significantly bigger than I anticipated, and I wound up with enough sandwich for dinner later on as well! And while the Monkey's Uncle was toasted, the bread would have been substantially tastier had they toasted it longer to give it an actual crunch. For just $12 for a large (aka "starving"), that provides enough food to last two meals, this is definitely a great deal! read more

I have tried their Monkey Business (turkey, bacon, ham), Avo Gobble (turkey, American cheese, avocado), Harvest Monkey (turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce), and Goodall (artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, avocado) sandwiches and have only had a less than average experience. 1 star off: The meat used in the sandwiches seem to be of lower quality. I'm sure that Sandwich Monkey sources its deli meats from elsewhere, but wherever it sources from could be better. The turkey and ham slices taste rubbery. 1 star off: The sandwiches are underseasoned. They taste bland. This may be attributed to the lower quality meats. 1 star off: Veggie fillings need work too. Lettuce is wilted and tomato has no taste. I think Sandwich Monkey is around the quality of Subway Sandwiches -- okay to try if you are starving and in the area, but I would not make a special stop to...monkey around here. read more
