    Teriyaki Bowl

I met 2 new friends for lunch last Friday. Since we were going to the Regal Huebner Oaks movie theater to watch "Chosen," I suggested either @salata or @firewok. My friend, Ana, was good with @firewok. It's a simple Asian/Chinese restaurant where you order at the counter, take a number, and they serve food at your table. I ordered the Lemon Fish, which was tasty and just the right amount of food. Ana had the Teriyaki Bowl and Julie had the General Tso's dish. We all were happy with the proteins. The rice was slightly undercooked. Overall, a good experience!

A special order, the lettuce wraps as healthy as they could make it with just a little sauce love this place

I love this place because even though I am trying to eat healthy, they are so kind and willing to adjust their sauces to just the right amount for me. I've been coming here for over 10 years and I love the management. They are sweet as can be, they really care about their business and I love the food. It is so so so good.

Great lunch spot! I've been here a couple times - once with coworkers and most recently with my boyfriend, both times for lunch during the week. There is a decent amount of space, and they're quick to get tables clean during the lunch rush. It's a good space, not too crowded, really casual. The levers on the soda machine were broken for a couple of the drink options. I've had the chow fun, pad Thai, and spring rolls, and what I will say is that while the food is great seasoning wise, the trend I've noticed is that the noodles feel a little undercooked for my taste - not hard, but definitely not the soft super cooked texture I would prefer. I think it might just be cranking the food out for speed. However, nothing egregious - good lunch, and I will definitely be around more often!

This was the lo mein noodle with the hair.

This evening my family member received his lo mein meal per usual , however this time he was left with several hair strands tangled around his lo mein. When asked why this occurred the respondent did not know what a hair net was after we told him what had happened. I ask that all who patronize this establishment please be aware of the unsanitary practices in this establishment.

Lo que más me gustó fue el servicio. Las personas que nos atendieron nos trataron muy bien y eso es un plus. El ambiente del lugar es tranquilo, apenas para un lunch break.

I paid less than $10 for the chicken pad Thai. I didn't think the flavor was anything exceptional. But the portion size was HUGE. I was able to make a second meal from it. If you don't eat a lot in one sitting I'm sure you could make 3 meals from this portion. The service was standard. You order at the register. I like that there is seating inside and outside !

What a gem in San Antonio! I stopped in recently for a team work lunch (on the recommendation of a…read morefriend) and I'm already planning my next visit back! We stopped in at around 1pm and I was shocked to find that the space was pretty much empty when our group first showed up. (others drifted in while we were dining but this place definitely deserves a packed house). Service was very fast and the kind waitress serving our table was very patient with us as we reviewed the menu and asked questions. Once we ordered , the food came out super quick . We started with the classic Edamame which is always a good call. For my entree I went with the Chesse Tonkatsu and YALL. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while dining out in San Antonio. From the flavor to the quality of the ingredients, everything tasted made with love. This meal also included a small salad, miso soup, steamed rice, the most delicious (soy/vinegar?) sauce, and sesame seeds. I don't usually eat a big lunch but I inhaled nearly every bite after taking the first taste. From start to finish, dining at Hoka Hoka Fuku was a fabulous experience. I'll be back VERY soon and so should you!

WOW is an understatement! We left extremely full & souls/stomachs satisfied. The name itself rolls…read moreoff the tongue and so do all other flavors. There were a lot of mouth watering options but our favorites that keep us coming back are definitely the Goma Q (Cucumbers), Pot Stickers (pan fried), the beef udon , and ANY of their katsus (the pork and mozzarella is my personal favorite). I usually like to ask for curry on the side of the katsu's to enjoy with it but also to enjoy with the steamed rice. The katsu is a very beautiful offering no matter which cut you select and I really enjoy all the extras they serve it with like the salad with ginger dressing, the miso soup, and the sesame seeds (hand grinding them is satisfying for the soul and extremely aromatic). No matter which cut you grab, the katsu itself is crispy and ultra addictive and dipping it into the sauce it's served with and then rolling it in sesame seeds is almost a ritual of love to your taste buds. Touching back on the beef udon the broth is so flavorful, the onions are soft and savory, the shredded beef is ultra tender, and the noodles are OUT OF THIS WORLD. It is a larger portion so you may end up with left overs which is never a bad thing :) Although this is not a large restaurant, everything they do here is with lots of love. There's seating at the bar and then additionally there are tables. No matter where you sit, the service is always spot on. The staff is extremely sweet and besides the amazing food that's what keeps us coming back. If you haven't been here yet, I recommend checking this place out.

For ramen, I recommend the "red" Aka Fuku. For udon noodles, the tofu was delicious as well if you need a vegetarian option. There is a small kids' menu and other non-noodles traditional Japanese dishes available as well. For drinks, there are the standard soft drink options, hot teas(or cold), beer, and wine. The atmosphere is very casual, but not to the point of feeling like a rushed lunch hour. It was not very crowded on our visit, but I noticed they probably get more to-go orders than seated service. Hoka Hoka Fuku is an excellent choice in the area if you're looking to have Japanese food. I can't wait to go back and try this place for dinner.

Delicious rich broth and added some sriracha for a kick. Ramen noodles were ok, but would have preferred my fave, udon. I just love the thicker noodles. Definitely had me and a few other patrons signing along. I was able to read my book and eat with no pressure which was nice. Since this was my first time I wanted to go simple. Everything was really good with no additions. Kani salad - slightly spicy (used siracha) but very good!
