Umm... holy deliciousness. We made a stop almost end of day and still the donut was so yum. F. R. E. S. H. Seriously so good. The guy behind the counter was super chill and kind. They are a little pricey but I'm always saying that I'm willing to pay good money for good food. Worth it. City Street Parking

Firecakes Donuts has never disappointed me over all the years I've patronized the business. The inside of the donut shop has been adjusted to only accommodate to-go orders. It is a lot more spacious when you go inside as you wait to place your order. The staff is always so friendly and willing to explain any of the seasonal donuts they have in stock. No matter the crowd size they always seem to get the line moving quickly. The donuts are priced like many gourmet donuts so it's not cheap and can add up if you start to buy multiples. The donuts are definitely worth the cost. When in doubt I always get either the Tahitian Vanilla Iced or Valrhona Chocolate Iced because those are always consistently good. They're completely different vibes but either donuts will help with your chocolate or vanilla fix. Both are very flavorful and balance each other out if you opt to get them both.

This is my favorite location out of all the Firecakes Donuts. The staff are nicer. The store is small but there's outdoor seating. The seasonal and limited time donuts are always great.

This is a nice donut shop located by Lincoln Park and the Lincoln Park Zoo. There is metered street parking available to park. They do not have a dining area, but they do have a covered patio area on the side of the shop. They offer more than just donuts. You can get stuffed cookies, ice cream, coffee and tea. They had me at stuffed cookies. They have an exotic assortment of donuts. They have both yeast and cake. I went with a pistachio, a wildflower honey glazed and a PB &J. I also got a stuffed sprinkle cookie. They were soft, fluffy and very savory. I was very happy with my choices. The guy that was working the counter during my visit was very friendly, patient and helpful. The baked goods are pricey, but so delicious. They stored pretty good and were tasty even the next day. I recommend checking this place out for some delicious baked goods.

Location is right on the busy street by other bakery and sweet spots. There was no line when we walked in. Lady in front was really friendly and helped out when asked what certain flavors were. I ordered an iced chai tea and it had the right amount of chai and sweetness to it. Also got the sprinkled donut. The base, the actual donut is really good not too overpowering on the sweetness. There was extra of the glazed so we got one to try and it was really good as well. Also ordered a vanilla shake and it also had the right ratio between milk, ice cream, and whatever else was used. Really smooth.

So good! The Tahition vanilla and cinnamon roll were my fav. I'm excited to come back and try new flavors and the cookies.

The atmosphere was very cozy inside and the cashier was very friendly and nice. She made very good recommendations and everything was handed to us immediately. The strawberry mascarpone, wildflower honey glazed and donut ice cream sandwiches were all amazing and a good size for the price. Would definitely come back.

Saw Firecakes pretty high on a "best cinnamon roll" list, so I had to stop by! The cinnamon roll did not disappoint! My only preference is that the icing is more cream cheese-forward, but their airy roll and sweet icing was still amazing! Also enjoyed how evenly it was baked, rather than having a crispy outside and gooey middle. I also love that they have creative seasonal flavors! I enjoyed an old fashioned cranberry orange donut, and it was great! Not too sweet, but still Christmas-y! The employee the day I visited was also incredibly helpful and pleasant!!

I've been a regular, almost weekly, customer at firecakes for over a year. Great yeast donuts and always fun seasonal flavors. But after the last 2 experiences at this location, I will not be going back for awhile, nor will I be recommending it to friends who ask me about donut recs, as I get donuts all the time and am somewhat known for it. A few weeks ago the girl helping me didn't say hello, didn't say "have a nice day" and was just plain rude. I emailed the customer service email about it, as it was an off encounter, to let them know about it. He responded back and appreciated me letting him know. Well, when I went today, I asked about the lack of the seasonal donuts they had just put on their instagram. I usually get 2 donuts and they only had 1 of the 4-5 flavors they had advertised. One of the girls working, who I'm pretty sure was the same girl that was rude to me before, gave me the biggest sass when I asked about it. Basically told me that it was my fault for coming so late in the day (it was 12pm) and WOW, that encounter ruined my day. I'm sorry, but that is not how you treat and talk to a customer. Plenty of other donut places in Chicago to bring my money.

    This Pistachio donut was heavenly.

If you're a donut fan or even if you're not, you should stop by and give this donut shop a try! It is pure donut heaven. I don't even know where to begin but there sure is a wonderful variety to pick from. Gustavo was super helpful and I just let him pick out the top 6 flavors, (actually 7), for me and he did a great job! While i haven't tried all 6 of the flavors, the Vanilla Iced with the little pearls on top was so basic and yet soooo good. I would definitely recommend you go out of your way to try this lovely donut shop. It is worth the trip!

A neighborhood gem. The donuts are fresh, the coffee is perfect and they now even have a kids donut.

They also have a patio, and with the weather being nice, it was easy to just sit outside and relax for a while. I was honestly too hungry to spend much time deciding, so I just ordered one of the sourdough donut ball. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The outside had a light coating of sugar that gave it just the right amount of sweetness without being too much. Once I bit into it, the inside was soft, airy, and slightly chewy from the sourdough, which made it different from a regular donut. There was a subtle tang from the sourdough that balanced the sweetness really well, so it never felt overly sugary. It had a light crispness on the outside, then a warm, pillowy center that practically melted away with each bite. I finished it way faster than I expected. The only thing I forgot was ordering something to drink with it. Looking back, a good coffee would've made it even better. Still, I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

The bakery also offers a variety of freshly made pastries and buns. Our favorites were the BBQ pork bun and the pineapple milk custard bun. Both were flavorful and fresh. Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.
