    Street Corn Dip

Very nice vibes at Firefly Restaurant! They have a large dining area which is bright during daytime. We started with the street corn dip and were very impressed! I got the tempura roll and my boyfriend got the bacon burger. We both enjoyed it! Our only complaint was that the food did take longer than expected considering the restaurant wasn't very busy.

A beautiful restaurant with nice view for dinner. We were seated few mins after arrived. We all were hungry as didn't really eat lunch. All food we ordered varies from pasta, fried rice, burger, steak- they all are good size portion & delicious. Nothing left to bring home for sure. My shrimp fried rice is a must for rice craving dinner. Don't hesitate to stop by here for a nice dinner!

This is a Traverse City staple. I have been to Firefly a handful of times but this was the first time I have ever had the Soy Chino roll and I have officially found my favorite item. I am already thinking about the next time I go back for it. Cute restaurant and friendly staff! Definitely recommend, the menu has a lot of variety and there is something for everyone!

Arrived for happy hour. Prompt seating. Ordered two happy hour special appetizers Soy Chino sushi, pita & hummus plate, local bottled root beer. Seated immediately on the patio, but service was slow. Happy hour specials were not mentioned by the server, had to ask for a separate menu. I did not enjoy the cooked steak tempura fried sushi "Soy Chino" odd combination of ingredients for a sushi roll. The hummus and pita plate was a nice surprise, garlic hummus with plenty of crispy pita to dip. Pleasant eating outside on a nice sunny say for a light lunch. Two bars inside (one open for lunch), small plates to order and share their fusion cuisine.

    Steak Udon

I usually do not write reviews. But the Steak Udon was just unreasonably bad! Stay away from it! First, the noodle was not Udon noodle. It was some undercooked Shanghai noodle. Second, everything in the dish was super salty, basically bathed in salty soy sauce with no other taste. Except the saltiness, the beef and veggies were okay. Since I was hungry, I just picked out and ate the meat and veggies, then drank a lot of water with them. I would not call that a meal!

Place is good. Service was great and they are quick w the food. Ambiance doesn't match the menu IMO but didn't bother me at all. Lots of good things to try and will be back.

We didn't order any food or snacks, but we did get two drinks. One was the blood orange martini which was strongly recommended. It was excellent and the second was a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, 13 Celsius from Marlborough, New Zealand. also stellar. Sleek, modern and bright and airy. Nice friendly bartenders - recommended! We got a blood orange margarita - TO DIE FOR - and a 13 Celsius Sauvignon Blanc

Came here with a large group. The place is a few blocks away from main street. It sits off the Boardman River but very little seats available outside. Inside has high ceilings with an industrial type vibe. The menu has a little of everything: small plates, sushi, burgers, and entrees. Drink menu includes cocktails, beer, cider, martinis, and hot drinks. Our server was friendly - but the kitchen was a mess. Our apps did not come out first and instead all came out with our entrees. We didn't have a big enough table for all of the food ordered. Our waiter said the kitchen is behind. Food wise, everything was good. The sweet corn app was ooey gooey. The sushi was fresh. The avocado salad was okay, just a salad with avocado on it.

Variety of food with an American twist. It was good, and light. The service was good too. The place looks very nice, next to the river with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

I did add a bit of lime juice and salt for flavor. The bread was delicious! I met a new friend at the bar and she and I enjoyed splitting the Wagyu beef 8 ounce with risotto. This was delicious and perfectly prepared rare with a chat. The risotto gravy was a bit rich for me. I would have loved a steak sauce but enjoyed adding lemon butter. The restaurant itself had a beautiful, rustic and romantic atmosphere, and the hostess was lovely about accommodating our request for a quieter table. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once our waitress began taking our order. She initially gave us great wine recommendations and was pleasant while explaining the specials. However, when I decided to order the white pizza instead of the trout because I wanted something lighter, her attitude completely changed. She became noticeably aggressive and dismissive, which made us feel as though we were being judged for choosing a less expensive item from the menu. The service continued to be disappointing. I had to ask for the complimentary bread, and I waited nearly 30 minutes for the second half of my wine. When we asked about it, we were abruptly told that the bar was busy. Her tone throughout the rest of the meal was extremely inconsistent, including literally yelling across the table, "How's the food?" It was so unexpected that my husband and I almost had to laugh. Unfortunately, the food itself didn't make up for the experience. The appetizers were decent, but our mains--the ravioli and white pizza--were very average and lacked flavor. We've been to many fine-dining and Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, and we understand that service can occasionally have an off night. What was disappointing here was feeling judged based on what we chose to order. Customers should feel comfortable ordering anything from a restaurant's own menu without being treated differently because of the price. The restaurant itself has a beautiful atmosphere and a lot of potential, but given our overall experience, we unfortunately won't be returning or recommending it to family and friends.

We sat at the bar which was staffed by two very efficient bartenders who did it all. It was nice to be able to see right through to the kitchen from the bar. Really enjoyed the mussel special (not sure if this is always on the menu). The prosciutto fig salad was quite good too but a very small serving size for two people to share as an appetizer. The crostini served with the burrata was very tasty and crispy. The best dish was the fettuccine which has pork ragu and fresh parmesan. This was recommended by our server and it did not disappoint. I only wish there were just a couple more noodles because the amount of meat was very generous. If you're deciding between here and the other Italian place also at the Commons (I don't think I can say it by name) I would actually recommend PepeNero's over that one!!!!

My partner had the gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce, and though tasty, it was pretty ordinary. We tried the roll Latini and sausage and well I regretted initially not getting that. But there was an unusual request from the chef to have the whole order come in rather than ordering appetizers first and main courses following.. The ambience was very chic.
