Cute spot just down the road from the Village Pub. The Firehouse Bistro has a casual neighborhood feel with paintings showcasing the history of the area. We had a great seafood stew and burger. Solid and simple.

Christmas Eve dinner was DELICIOUS. Set Menu but we were fortunate that what we wanted was listed. Starter was our only issue... shrimp appetizer. My fiancé is highly allergic and there was no substitute for it. The bread was crazy good!! Salad was light and perfect with blue cheese and the pea soup was very good!! The main meal we went with was the filet mignon. Perfectly cooked to our request and our waitress was courteous and friendly. When I asked for a good wine to go with my filet she brought me a great Pinot to taste. Ended up ordering a glass. My fiancé enjoyed his Long Island ice tea and we both liked our canoli's. Highly recommend to all who would love a romantic and memorable meal

We chose this restaurant based on location (wanted to eat in Woodside and take a nice drive) and it looked romantic and private. It opened at 5:00 and we walked in around 5:20. Only 2 tables had diners and there were at least 7 open tables in the front of the restaurant and more in the back which we didn't see. Any way that's significant because the hostess asked if we had reservations, we said no and she responded Oh and asked if we could hold on. She walked over to the waiter and they talked for a minute. She walked back over to us and said "ok, we can seat you but can you be quick, like in and out?". At this point we should have just walked out at that point but we didn't. She started to walk us to a 2 person table and stopped and redirected to a table in a less prime spot. Whatever, we are here let's eat and just do this. The water was pleasant but after he took our order he never checked on how we were doing. Portions were way to small for the price. Three bites of mashed potatoes and two bites of vegetables. Food looked nice but was bland. I think in the end the best part was the gravy on my husbands plate. When the hostess asked if we wanted the dessert menu I almost laughed out loud and asked if that would keep us at the table too long I'd we ate dessert. I think of your a regular Woodside attendee you might be treated as an inconvenience if you go. Reservation's recommend.

Beer Campaign…read more Locally-owned brew pub that was formerly just a tasting room before beginning food operations sometime during Covid. We arrived starving after a long hike at nearby Corte de Madera, and were craving some comfort food and beer to appease our appetites, and Ghostwood hit the spot! The Good: * Street, lot, and garage parking available, but more on that later. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Game room in the back with pool, pinball, and other forms of entertainment. * 50% off all drinks Fri & Sat night from 9 p.m. until closing. * Happy Hour Mon - Fri 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. * QR code menu ordering and payment through Toast, which is our favorite. * Service was friendly and efficient. * Fresh housemade beers and full complement of spirits and mixed drinks. * Chicken Tacos were a pleasant surprise, as they were delicious and packed with chicken and toppings. * Redwood Rodeo Burger was an outstanding smashburger! So much flavor and the meat-to-toppings-to-bread ratio was perfect. Definitely hit the spot! * Special big ups to the Beef Tallow Fries that were crispy and just fantastic. The Meh: * It is a family-friendly establishment, so prepare for unsupervised kids running amok in the game room while the parents get plastered. -_- * I thought the Fried Pickles were pretty good, but Carissa felt like they needed more batter or something. The Ugly: * Downtown Redwood City can be extremely popular, especially on weekends, so parking can be a real hassle. I'd recommend finding the Jefferson Avenue Garage which gives you the first two hours for free. Conclusion: Come for the beer but stay for the food. Highly recommended.

Overall service was great and servers were very attentive. Definitely would love to come back again to try other things on the menu!

Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. I would highly recommend checking this place out and will definitely be back for more.

Our favorites were the kimchi deviled eggs, the miso linguini pasta, and the yuzu dessert. One thing I did notice was the seating arrangement. I had seen another Yelp review mentioning that they were seated right next to another party despite the restaurant being mostly empty, and we had a similar experience. Even with plenty of open tables, we were seated directly beside another group, making it easy to hear each other's conversations. It wasn't a huge issue, but a little more spacing would have made the dining experience feel more comfortable. Overall, the food and service were great.

The food is wonderful, service is wonderful, I received several complimentary dishes including a trout tartare I rather liked a lot. I felt underdressed but never underserved. This place was on my list for a while, all my dishes were hot, creative, plated incredibly, and the flow of the room the entire time is amazing. No yelling, nobody slacking off, no tension. Its just flow and purpose. The door to the kitchen is open and visible from where I was sitting. Nobody is stressed, everybody is comfortable and right at home. Service is perfect and not too much and just the right amount of personality. Ingredients available tonight were: Abalone, black cod, morel, caviar, a5 wagyu, trout, vermont butter, and small farm duck breast among some other stuff sourced expertly. Thank you so much for the meal I would love to come back and do it again

I was already suffering a sore throat , so during the break I told my friend I needed a drink if I was to sit through another stretch of the same format. A quick Yelp search said that this bar was less than a 1 minute from the theatre. So off we went. Harry the bartender is one of the nicest guys you'll meet, and when I asked him if he could make me a hot toddy he didn't blink! Bar is small and is sort of an extension to the Curry pizza place. But it is absolutely at an amazing location and serves anything your heart desires. Friend had a hibiscus whatever with vodka and she was happy with it. I was more than happy with the hot toddy he made with Hennessy. Prices are middle of the road at $14 for a drink, and this place combines two of my absolute faves: Indian spiced wings and cocktails. I just know if I'm ever back at Fox theatre for an event , this is the place I'm getting my drinks at.

All visitors have gone thru the challenges of life despite their differences--respectfully. Chris genuinely believes in creating a true community hub, fostering an atmosphere where everyone feels like they're part of an extended family.
