My experience wasn't good at all. When I walked in the door this was man behind the counter who just kept staring at me. Since I'm not a mind reader, I don't know what he was thinking, but the expression on his face was not welcoming. The woman at the register was polite when she handed me my online order. Yesterday I was working near the fire house deli and I was hungry so I went inside and order a BLT on rye toast with Mayo. Not only was the quality off the bacon ,lettuce,Tomato,Mayo,rye bread first class top notch . The sandwich could feed 3 people: it was off the charts . Wow what a experience. Is this the best sandwich I've ever had? Nope. Is this the cheapest sandwich I've ever had? Nope. Is this the biggest sandwich I've ever had. YES!! Their "wedge" sandwiches are probably close to 2 feet long and I've made 3 meals out of one sandwich. Finishing half of one means certain food coma and attempting more is asking for a stomachache. While I've had better sandwiches, value wise, this is hard to beat. Their menu is pretty extensive. Stick to their sandwiches as salads are not their forte. read more

Best deli ever. I'm a native New Yorker. They know how to make a sandwich, boy. Used to order all the time when I worked in Port Chester and now we come down from Stamford once a week for a salad or one of their crazy combos. Parking is on side streets but it's worth looking for a spot. read more

Have been coming to this establishment for more than 15 years. When I am in town to visit my in-laws it is on the to-do list, if not the MUST DO list. My favorite has always been the Untouchable. The chicken cutlet is cooked to perfection with roasted red pepper, lettuce tomato and honey mustard dressing on that insanely delicious sesame seed Italian bread. This place opened in the late 199os when i was a kid and still has amazing food!!! Ownership has changed hands- popularity keeps growing! Worst Cuban Panini sandwich ever. I don't think they know what a cuban sandwich is. It had the wrong meat (tons of it, not good), too much mustard (i didn't ask for it), the bread was saggy, and the sandwich itself was a mess, not easy to eat, I think it was because of the ridiculous amount of cold cuts and because it was too warm when they tightly wrapped it up. I ordered it to go, I don't think a 3 minutes drive will make the sandwich so bad. I do not recommend it. read more

You can try to mimic all of the amazing sandwiches they make over at Firehouse, but I'm convinced there's just something about that grill and all the flavors mixed in that makes all of those sandwiches so freakin delicious. The WestChester Salad with avocado on the side is very good. Plenty of grill chicken and greens. Their strawberry dressing goes perfectly with the salad. The only down side is one of their cashiers. One word...disrespectful. I called for a pick-up order and as soon as I was going to ask for it, her reply was "What do you want?" Well, for the first time ever, they made an error in my order. They mistakenly did not pack my son's sandwich in my order. I was picking him up at the New Rochelle train station 15 miles away when I looked in the bag and realized it was missing. I called them up and notified them of the error, and not only did they make him a new fresh sandwich, they actually drove to the train station and had delivered it to me. Do not EVER EVER EVER order delivery through seamless. I placed an order at 10:00am (seamless quoted a 30-45 minute delivery time) and it didn't arrive until 12:30!!!! TWO AND A HALF HOURS????? There is no priority for orders, the driver brings all delivery orders at the same time no matter what time the order was placed. It was impossible for me to get through to anyone on the phone, the line was busy constantly and when i did finally get through, the staff SCREAMED at each other and fought in the background and hung up on me. There was barely an apology and THEY FORGOT HALF MY ORDER! when i complained to the driver, he said "we deliver as soon as possible. there are 40 other orders i have to deliver and yours is not the only one that is late." and then literally RAN AWAY as i was standing there. it is too bad because the menu looks great. but the TERRIBLE customer service and lack of concern for customers is cause for me to never order or eat there ever again. i don't even want to call back to get refunded for the food they forgot (the website only has a phone number, no email) because i don't want to have to call 50 times to get through to someone. read more

I was heading from Greenwich to LGA and got on Yelp to find some place to grab a sandwich....wow was I lucky to find this place. On the advice from the guys there I ordered the Real Deal Holyfield on a wedge....that sucker had to weigh close to two pounds! And on top of that it was a great sandwich. Once upon a time, a really nice family ran the Firehouse deli. Once they gave away the key, the quality went way down hill. The new yorker used to be my favorite sandwich. It would melt in my mouth. When I ordered it this year, the bread was stale and soggy, the roast beef was overcooked hard to chew (not sure how) and the sandwich just tasted so badly. Much to my bad decision making, I ordered a classic turkey sandwich on another visit and the turkey was slimy and it was cheap turkey thin and unflavorful. The previous owners of firehouse deli always had ROASTED turkey fresh every day. And they're roast beef was probably roasted right in the deli as well. Anyway, It's sad but that's how it goes when owners get cheap and try and cut corners. They're prices have sky rocketed and the quality of foods has plunged into the deep end. read more

For the perfect sandwich, the bread needs that magical crunch and taste. If you ordered the bread by itself, can you eat it without anything else and savor the flavor and crunch? 8/10 for the bread. Taste is almost there, and not enough crusty crunch to it. 10 bucks for the hero aka wedge plus soda. Large enough to fill up a big fella. Two portions for skinny folks.
