Wow! Why have I not been in before? Husband suggested we stop in for lunch. I had a BLT sub on toasted garlic bread, he had an item off the menu. Chips , drink. Total $25. Good deal these days. My sandwich was fantastic! Can't wait to go back. Scene from patio was nice even with the traffic noise. My favorite sandwich shop of this type now.

Good Italian sandwich plenty of meat and a pickle. Coke freestyle machine, I like the variety. Several different chips to choose from and dining area was clean. Employees were friendly and there wasn't much of a wait. Sub arrived warm and lettuce and tomato were cool. Perfect balance.

So excited for the new NW ABQ location! The ABQ Fire Dept. was there ordering when I walked in. Firehouse makes some of the best warm subs around. Although a chain, all subs are made to order with thinly sliced meats that are sooo juicy and flavorful. Order at the counter and they bring out your food. Lots of variety; ham turkey, pulled pork, meatball, salami and steak. The wait is about 5 minutes since they need to make the sandwich and warm it., maybe longer if it's lunch-hour. On your first bite you will realize the juicy-ness of their deli meat.Yum. The original Hook and Ladder (ham, turkey and Monterrey Jack) on wheat bread is my favorite, but I also love their roast beef (on the Firehouse Hero) and the Hawaiian pulled pork with pineapple. The new coke machines are here too! Endless flavors with your favorite soda, diet soda, orange soda, or water!

Omg why are so yumny!! Please get in my tummy!!

Ok so I think I'm over subway! I know I know it's been a staple for so many for so long but we need change sometimes. I was introduced to Firehouse Sub when our managers at work had them during a meeting. They had some left over and shared with us. OMG! They are so much better than Subway in my opinion. I mean yeah I know people like to specialize their sandwiches but sometimes it takes forever and I forget to add ingredients. Now my go to sammie is a tuna on Italian so I decided that for my first sammie at Firehouse I'd choose what else but a tuna. Now you can still customize your sammie but it takes less time and there are already toppings and condiments that come with. Now I always 86 the lettuce on any sammie I get because I don't like lettuce on them. One surprising thing that was put on the sammie was Dijon mustard. I honestly have never had Dijon on a tuna but I was pleasantly surprised at the blending perfection of the two tastes. Basically tuna heaven. I also love that they have sweet tea. There aren't a lot of places that have sweet tea that is fresh brewed and I'm super happy that Firehouse has it. They also have a variety of chips to choose from if you choose to get a combo. You can also choose a cookie combo if you don't want chips. One of the big reasons that I love Firehouse is that it was started by firefighters. I have a soft spot for all first responders and military, so if I can support them in any way I will. The décor inside is also very cool because its fire department everywhere. I love to see all the equipment and helmets and badges. It brings back good memories of the time I was able to ride-a-longs with the fire department. The only draw back is the kids that work there. They are a bit rude and don't pay much attention when you first walk in, which is a big reason I order online. When you order online you can just walk in and pick up your food. I highly suggest stopping by any Firehouse and enjoying their food. I don't let the kids get to me because the Fire department is more important to me than attitudey kids.

What's still left if my medium Italian with added banana peppers and black olives.. yum!

I've been going there ever since. A few years ago, they added a bakery. It is chock full of delicious cookies, eclairs, cannolis, and you can even get a wedding cake there. Most recently, I went with some coworkers for lunch and ordered the Bella Mozzarella sandwich. Beautiful, thick slices of fresh mozzarella, loaded with tomatoes and basil. The bread was super fresh, and the potato salad was very flavorful. My coworker got an eclair on our way out. I just had a bite and it was divine. The older gentleman behind the counter was courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the side wall is covered in shelves that contain imported pasta and various other products from Italy. There's a freezer case filled with premade meals and meat. If you haven't been there, it's definitely worth a stop

Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.

For the record, I'm talking about a true handheld breakfast burrito--not one served on a plate and smothered in red, green, or Christmas chile. Hello Deli in Albuquerque's Journal Center is one of the homegrown New Mexico spots I happily recommend when the craving for a handheld breakfast burrito hits. My go-to order is the "Pronto" with sausage and green chile. Just tell the kitchen that's what you want, and they'll take care of the rest. Wrapped in foil and perfectly sized (and priced) for a good breakfast on the go, the Pronto delivers a well-balanced combination of eggs, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and New Mexico green chile. As you peel back the foil, you're greeted with warm, satisfying goodness in every bite. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, the Pronto is reliably delicious and remains my go-to handheld breakfast burrito in Albuquerque.

I also ordered an iced Americano since they didn't offer cold brew. The Americano was refreshingly strong and very tasty. The espresso didn't taste burnt or like the machine hadn't been cleaned in a while (you can tell). Sadly, the breakfast sandwich was underwhelming. There was a large quantity of eggs and not enough cheese, and the flavor of the red chile was overpowered by everything else. Next time, I'd like to try a toasted bagel with a cream cheese that accentuates the flavor of the bagel.
