Disappointing sandwich and this location continues to disappoint. I have a favorite sandwich at Firehouse which I consider a guilty pleasure not to be eaten regularly. The New York Steamer smothered in Captains Sorensen's sauce is an incredibly flavorful sandwich! Unfortunately the several times I've been to this location, I've encountered so much chewy fat in the sandwich that it's not enjoyable. I've given them several chances to see if they just got a bad batch of meat but every time I've been there it's the same. I will have to give up on this location which is sad since it's the closest to me. read more

This location is close to work and I usually will go to this location once or twice a week. The staff is professional and friendly. The food is on par with other Firehouse Subs I have visited. The staff engages the regulars in conversation which is refreshing. read more

Since this place opened, we've gone there every few months or so. Every time we order, it's to go. The food is 'decent' but the prices are a little steep for a simple "sub shop" that doesn't use superior quality meats. I don't know what brand they use, but it isn't Boar's Head, that's for sure. I would normally give it three, or even four stars, but in recent visits, they've been slacking and the taste of the food has gone down a bit. Their employees are barely pleasant, and show no enthusiasm for their job. Yeah, yeah, how enthused can you be working at a sandwich shop, BUT, a job is a job. Why bother having it, if you're not going to be grateful, do it right, and do it with a smile. We've never had to check our purchase to make sure it was accurate and always got home and our order was correct. Last night, we ordered a large brisket sub without mayo without cheese and two medium roast beefs WITH the side pickle. Mind you, we live about fifteen minutes away from the place. I ordered ONLINE and paid ONLINE. I verified my order twice before confirming and placing the order. I selected a pick up time, and several moments later, I got my email order confirmation. Which is great because it gives you the detail of the order. That was proof that I ordered the brisket WITHOUT mayo or cheese. My husband drives over, picks up the order, and drives back. That's 30 minutes... He WAITS another ten minutes for the food. He gets home, and low & behold, there's mayo AND cheese on the sandwich, and they forgot our pickles. I call, and they offer to replace it or return it for a refund. Whoever I spoke with seemed agitated because I had called, and BARELY APOLOGIZED for the mistake. Husband goes back out, ANOTHER THIRTY MINUTES WASTED, to get the replacement sandwich, and NOT ONE PERSON behind the counter apologized for mistake, didn't offer a free bag of chips or a soda. NOTHING. Why bother doing a job if you don't do it right??? Hoping our next visit is better than our last few visits. CHECK YOUR TO GO ORDER THOROUGHLY before walking out the door. read more

Firehouse Subs are usually decent. Tonight was rather disappointing. Our subs were not hot at all. Room temperature at best. The jalapeno cheddar chips were tasty though. Most disappointing thing about the visit was listening the three high schoolers chat and giggle. Someone even called to question their pickup order and after call ended we had the pleasure of listening to the teenagers laugh and make fun of the caller. My husband and I LOVE Firehouse Subs in Burlington!! First and foremost, the quality of meats are far superior to any you'll find at other sandwich shops in Burlington. Secondly, the manager, Keisha and her staff are always helpful and friendly. Thirdly, they have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine and sweet tea that's the bomb-digity!! I eat here at least once per week. The sandwiches are steamed and very good. My favorite is the " Hook and Ladder" but I mostly purchase the less expensive Ham or Jerk Turkey. They have gone up in price recently in just the last few months ,from $4.99 to $5.55 now $5.99. Sometimes the dining area is smokey from the cooking? I wish they used an exhaust hood. April 11, 2021 I had the worst experience at this restaurant. I ordered online on the way home 1.5 hr prior to pick up. I arrived late and had to sit and wait while my food had not been started by the set pick up time for over 45 min. I left and returned to give extra time and still had not been started when I returned. 2 out of 4 people were making food while one appeared to be training was watching. 1 associate recommended the person in training help out while the others said that "how can he help if he doesn't know what he's doing?". I thought if 2 alike sandwiches he could mirror but no. They jokingly talked about not needing a job, they would demand a raise, or they weren't going to make it to the expected year mark. They claimed to be so backed up on orders that at least 15 walk in customer walked out. Potential customers turned away because they were slammed. I only watched 5 orders get produced and handed out in 45 min. After experiencing this and hearing how the associates feel about there job and not being able to utilize all resources and hearing other remarks I don't want to mention I will not dine at this location again if something doesn't change. It is highly unacceptable for associates of a business talk or act the way they did in front of customers let alone when no one is in the store. read more
