Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket (Free Birthday Sub)
    Kimberly J.

I like Firehouse Subs from time to time. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood for that other sub place, so this is a nice option to have. Their sandwiches are quite tasty. My favorite has to be the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket. Thin slices of brisket with gooey cheese and BBQ sauce. Add onions and lettuce for free. You have your choice of white or wheat bread. They are both tasty. Pickle comes on the side with every sandwich. I like that they wrap it in a separate baggy so it doesn't get your sandwich soggy. I love that they offer a Free Birthday Sub. Simply come on your birthday and show your drivers license. No coupon or email sign up necessary. Simple enough and greatly appreciated! The cashier was friendly. She was quick to take my order and even threw in an enthusiastic "Happy Birthday!" for me. So sweet, not sure if she was one of the owners? This place gets packed during lunch.

    Seriously? Where is the meat!!!

My son got me in here as he frequents the One Loudoun store. I have to say it was terrible. I don't believe I have ever had so little meat for so much money! Maybe I'll try One Loudoun to see if Firehouse can redeem themselves.

This is not the best hoagie shop in this part of Chantilly; and it is a chain (though, it is a high-end chain).  But, it is very good.   This place meets the basics of being a 4.25/4.5-star sandwich shop: a) It is pretty darn clean (basically, 100% of the time). b) It has competent service.  They are not Mother Theresa, but they are friendly. c) Ingredients are fresh. More importantly, the hoagie you actually end up eating is better than any sandwich you will get at a Subway, and/or at any other more utilitarian-style hoagie shop. Pastrami is VERY good here; however, it is hard for you to get a ham-based sandwich here (unless you want that ham to taste very sweet, which I usually do not). So, that last part, *that* is a problem. Overall, though, this place is a good find.

Waiting on my italian wheat no onions, add banana peppers.

What can I say But Italian sub, no onions please, add the olives and banana bell peppers and bliss has arrived, you know what they say, once you go Firehouse Subs you never go Subway. They pamper you with all that meat, yes what a treat, I guess that rhymes. You too will rhyme, with this delicious better then your mommas P, b and J. Enjoy and thank me later. I feel like another one. Great spot!

Yuck! We ordered the New Yorker corned beef sub and it was dripping with some sauce. We had to literally wring it out.

Twisted Sweets and Savory - Hungarian on Jalapeño Bagel sandwich!

Sometimes you just want to reward yourself with something sweet and…read moredelicious.  That's why we decided to head on over to Twisted Sweets & Savory.  We had never had chimney cakes before - an omission that shall not be allowed to happen again because - Yum!  These are like if really sugary donuts were stretched out into long snakes of dough and then coiled up until it made a wonderful open tube to be coated with all sorts of great things. We chose to do the pistachella and the bounty.  They both featured Nutella and if that wasn't enough, one added crushed pistachios and the other coconut flakes.  They were very tasty but very rich and between the two of us, we had to admit defeat before finishing them both.  Happily, there are to go boxes to bring home any remainders.  The space is very clean and there are tables and lots of napkins (which you will need because these treats are both awesome and very messy).  The staff was very friendly and the parking is easy in the lot out front.  We will have to come back again to try some of the savory options to definitely be followed up by another dessert one. MMMMMM

Absolutely fresh veggies, the roll (bread) was just right, and the Hungarian salami was scrumptious. This brought a smile & cheer to my day. I enjoy supporting local businesses, and you will see me again. Don't hesitate, and just try something new! You will be happy you did.
