I ordered a Hook & Ladder for takeout from Firehouse Subs and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered that all of the toppings had been left off my sandwich. Instead of the Hook & Ladder I ordered, I was left with nothing but meat and cheese on a roll. It completely changed the experience and ruined the excitement I had for my meal after getting home. To make matters worse, the pickle spear that came with the order was extremely small compared to what I've received in the past. While mistakes happen, what was even more disappointing was how the issue was handled afterward. I contacted corporate about the experience and was told that because each Firehouse Subs location is individually owned, there wasn't much they could do directly. They said they forwarded my complaint to the store for follow-up. However, I never heard anything from the owner or manager--not even a simple apology acknowledging the mistake. I understand that errors happen in restaurants, but good customer service is about making things right when they do. The manager was top notch! Placed an online order and got there before it was due to be done. No big deal we knew we were early. My daughter got her chips and ate a few while we were patiently waiting. The manager was preparing our sandwich and noticed we were waiting and apologize for the wait. We said no prob we were early. She noticed we added pickles to the sub and asked if we wanted extra... Umm of course we do! As she was finishing the sub she noticed the meat and cheese was a little over cooked. She let us know she was going to make some more and gave us a drink while we waited. She chatted with a few other customers while checking in with us and also requesting her team to tend to the meat cookers so other meats don't get over heated. She was very attentive to the needs of EVERYTHING around her. Once the sandwich was done it was boxed up and handed to us with a great smile and an apology and a thank you for being patient. I was very impressed and I appreciated her attention to detail and customer service. It was beyond what I would normally expect at a sub shop! Some of the toppings were not on it as requested . and when I bit into the sandwich, it had a funny taste, so I allow someone else to taste the sandwich and they said the same thing. What a great experience! You're greeted promptly as soon as you walk in - but it feels sincere! This is one of my favorite fast casual spots, because of the great service and delicious subs! I'm usually a hook & ladder kinda girl, but I've been seeing the ads for the jerk turkey sub and it was calling my name... I obliged and I'm glad I did! It was my moms birthday, so her sub was completely free and the crew made sure to wish her a happy birthday on our way out. Just a fun experience all around! Went here for my free birthday promotional sub sandwich. Did not have much time so I ordered through the app. I ordered the Smokehouse beef brisket, fully involved and made it a combo meal. My complaint is with corporate and the ones who handle online order refunds, on January 24th I placed 2 separate orders back to back one using 15,000 points for a large cheddar brisket and the 2nd order I paid cash/card for 2 large cheddar briskets with Xtra meat and cheese and when we got to the store we were told they were out of brisket meat and they are unable to cancel the order and issue a refund so I had to go back online and ask for a refund in the app which I did 2× and got a zero response so on Saturday the 27th, 3 days later I called corporate and spoke to an actual person who proceeded to tell me that she had to foward the issue to upper management in order to get a refund of my money and points and here it is Monday and still NOTHING read more

LOVE Firehouse Subs!! This Firehouse Subs is conveniently located in the St Johns Town Center and within a couple of miles of the University of North Florida campus. Great for a shopping break or a study break. I've seen GrubHub pick up and deliver to campus from this location which is great and makes me wish I lived closer. I've had take out from here and the sandwiches are as good on the go as they are seated inside. This location has a couple of tables outside of you wish to sit outside, but this is FL and no one wants to eat when they are melting. Seating inside is limited to less than 20 people. They have the normal full menu that you will find at most Firehouse Subs, as well a huge assortment of hot sauces, over 40. As usual is the norm for Firehouse Subs, this location usually asks if you want to round up your bill to donate to the local Public Safety Foundation. I've been eating at Firehouse Subs since they first opened and I've eaten at different shops all over North Florida and this shop at the Town Center was the best one yet! As I did my usual taste test of hot sauces on their hot sauce bar while I wait for my food, it caught me off guard that my gorgeous Italian sub had come out so quickly! I was literally is awe of how evenly stacked the meat was, how perfectly toasted the bun was, the cheese not too solid yes not too cheesy, no sloppy lettuce jumping out of my toasty bun and the final call: was the Italian dressing doused in between all my happy pieces? Purchased the NY Steamer from the Town Center Firehouse Subs... they really skip on the meat about 4 inches of the sub has no meat, at all. Also, they didn't put the provolone cheese on my sub and there are no veggies on this sub so it was not very filling for a large with no cheese and little meat for the price. I'm a HUGE fan of Firehouse Subs... ever since I discovered my local shop down here in St. Augustine, this place has destroyed all other chain sub shops like Subway or Quiznos. You can still find better subs made up at local hoagie or grinder establishments, but Firehouse is always on point in making good, fresh, delicious subs on amazing bread. This place is no exception. It's kind of tucked away in the Town Center, not near any of the major stores or restaurants, but luckily it's near the awesome liquor store, so I always like to swing in and grab a sub for a quick lunch. The staff here is friendly, they make your subs to order, and the subs are delicious. Lots of options, hot or cold, covered in fresh veggies and lotsa cheese. There's also about 50 different types of hot sauce on the front counter, all labeled on a hotness scale, if you'd like to kick your flavor up a bit. The coke machine here is a bit weird, but pretty cool. I think there was about 100 different flavors of Coke products, you can mix and match, and it's all computerized. Takes a few minutes to get used to it, but it's pretty cool. The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars- the store was pretty dirty when I walked in, a lot of wrappers and lettuce and stuff all over the tables and floors. Not disgusting, but not super clean either. I love Firehouse Subs (especially the hot meatball) and definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sandwich at a good price... way better than Subway or Quiznos.
