Omelet w/ hash browns and rye toast
Jerry H.

I had to come back to my old stomping ground, Village Bread! The have Pancake Tuesdays. All you can eat for $8.50. What I did not like this go around os the build youe omelet. Each addition cost $1 a pop. It is the way of the economy now. Customers ate nickel and dime for everything. The omelet should have been bigger but it was tasty with the 3 items I got mushrooms, peeper.and onions. I did not get the cheese for another $1. I ate and ran. It was a nice quiet breakfast Village Bread is doing table service. I thought they always did table service. I will be back to take Wifey to all you can eat pancakes on Tuesday!!

Food still delicious as always! Why did you guys change to server instead of the walk up kiosk! Kiosk was SO much better. Service was slow now. The main reason we came here besides the good food was the efficiency and quickness! Please change back!

Longtime lover of VBC but it's rough with the new model of ordering at the table vs the kiosk. Servers seem stressed and service is unfortunately slow. Food was delicious as always but portions seem smaller (minus the pancakes, they're massive). Our group will continue to visit because we have been coming for years but I could see how the slow service could deter new customers. Want to add that we love the servers here and think they're great! Such a cute spot and always decorated well for various holidays.

Service was excellent but the food was just okay. It was slightly confusing as a first time visitor to figure out that you seat yourself, self-serve your drink at first and order from your table. My drink was refilled by my server and I was also offered a to-go cup before leaving. Unfortunately, the portion size of my meal seemed like it was for a child. The flavors were good, but my veggie panini was really small. The mushroom was unusually chewy and difficult to bite as part of the sandwich. The flavor of the feta slaw was good but the slaw was unusually stringy and also challenging to eat. The menu was large and I might return to give them another chance for breakfast.

4.5/5 The food is always so good and the pancakes are always so fluffy. I love the people who work here and the diner feel of the place. However, I miss the walk up service and liked the format better than the sit down they recently switched too. It feels like the wait time has gone up because of this switch.

I have been to this location a few times. This picture was taken in January of 2019 and I figured I would share it with the awesome Yelp community. Just because I love flowers and taking pictures of random flowers and learning all I can about random flowers and plants. I do hope this picture brings you joy during this upcoming holiday season and manages to put a smile on your face. With all that being said. Have a great day my fellow Yelpies.

Food is always delicious. Ambiance is a family diner. Service is great as always just wish they would go back to ordering at the counter. Table service just doesn't work. Would have been 5/5 without the ordering change.

Rustic Potato Bacon Soup with 1/2 pastrami sandwich

Lunch at Village Bread. When you arrive you order at the counter and pay. They give you a number and bring your order. I have the combo soup and 1/2 sandwich. The bacon potato soup was yummy. I got the 1/2 pastrami. It was okay. Plenty of seating. Good experience. It's a 4. Im thinking their breakfast is worth trying. They open at 7 am.

Great breakfast today... Cheese Skillet with added sausage Pattie's with a beautiful buttered grilled biscuit and a delicious cup of coffee... had my eggs done soft scrambled which were perfect... a hearty and tasty meal... great place to hold a networking breakfast with others... call me happy

Fresh Baked Bread and Greek salad with salmon and Cobb salad... a crawfish and pepper Jack soup. All delicious and the environment feels like a granny house.

You have to order inside and then head to a table with your number and the servers will bring it to you. With a party of 5, our food came out in good time and we got an array of items-- from a breakfast croissant sandwich to little pastries, everything was wonderful. Most of us ended up trying their seasonal matcha drink which was a linzer matcha that came with black cherry and a pistachio cold foam. It has a specific taste but I liked it a lot! It's not a mix of flavors I'd normally think of but I ended up finishing my drink which I don't always do, even with matcha drinks. The croissants & bread were fresh and each dish was beautifully plated. I love a dish that both looks good and tastes good and it delivered both. The outdoor patio is covered and a great spot to enjoy your meal if the weather is beautiful and breezy which is was the day we dined here. The inside is also such a cute vibe. Such a great spot and will definitely be back if I'm in the area!

Organic products throughout the menu, as well as some gluten free options ... which was exactly what we were looking for! When we arrived, we found this pleasant environment with ample seating outside. As we began to review the menu, the manager of the shop was very friendly and helpful in navigating their menu. Ultimately, I decided to sample the bacon, egg, and cheese wrap. It was quite good. I believe they used a cheddar that was a bit strong for my taste and would have preferred some milder cheese options (like provolone). Regardless, it was tasty. My only complaint (and this may be specific to me) is that they did not have a cola flavored diet drink to offer. Yes, I admit, I need my Diet Coke with my meal. So, I had to walk around the corner and find a place to sell me a soda. Other than that, a great option for a meal.

The seating outside is probably my favorite part. Who doesn't like sitting on picnic tables in the end right.

We loved the gambas al ajillo -- the shrimp had great flavor and just the right amount of heat -- and the grilled sourdough was perfect for soaking up every bit of the delicious sauce. A few things fell short, though. Our table for two felt cramped, especially since it was positioned directly against a wooden divider. I was facing the back of the restaurant, so as right-hander, sitting up against the wall felt awkward and made the space feel even tighter. I'm a huge fan of seafood stews and almost always order them when I see one on the menu, so I was looking forward to the Sicilian Stew. While the overall flavor was good, it leaned a bit too salty for my taste. More disappointing was the fish itself -- it seemed cooked down and stirred into the broth to the point where it acted more like a thickener than a distinct part of the dish. I would have preferred visible pieces of fish with more texture and presence. Overall, the staff was warm and attentive, the service was excellent, and the food arrived promptly. Despite a few drawbacks, I'd still be open to giving Taverna another try in the future.

When visiting Jacksonville for work, I was on the lookout for great restaurants around St Johns…read moreTown Center as my hotel and the work office was in the vicinity. Reservations can be made via OpenTable, and I saw this suggested on Yelp so I decided to try one evening. Upon arriving, I marveled at the beauty of the interior design of the bottom floor that also serves as a gallery. I ascended the staircase as the restaurant is on the third floor. I dined alone as this trip I didn't have a coworker with me, but I still was seated in a cozy corner to take it all in. Isaac, my waiter, was incredibly friendly, and ensured I had everything I needed. What I Ordered: - Caesar Salad: This salad is as pretty good, but at a price point of $19, I would likely skip if dining here again. Though, it did have the perfect hint of lemon for acidity and the croutons tasted house-made. Perhaps if you added a protein, this could become your main dish and elevate it. - Lobster Roll: $36 for a lobster roll?! I was intrigued as this was noted as a signature dish and a standout for what this location is known for... and boy was I IMPRESSED! The roll was perfectly toasted, and the lobster to roll ratio was absolute perfection. The flavor of the lobster was juicy and tasted fresh. This roll was so good that even the neighboring table as they left asked how I enjoyed it. They were recognized by staff, so I believe they are regulars. We all discussed how delicious it was and I shared my thoughts on the execution of lobster to bread ratio. I dined here a couple weeks ago, and I'm still thinking about where in Arizona I'll ever find a roll as decadent. - Cappuccino: a mark of a truly well-crafted cappuccino is the sugar test. Will the foam withstand the weight of sugar or will it sink to the bottom (poorly frothed)? I had ordered and didn't realize they would put a design on top! Visually stunning, and happy to report they make a beautiful cappuccino with delightful foam. Added pictures to showcase the design they added, and the sugar test. The rooftop has stunning views, and the food is a work of art as well. Though I had a lighter dinner with a salad + lobster roll, I was impressed with the meal and would return to try more of the menu if I visit for business or personal reasons in the future. This area has lots of restaurants, but this one definitely leaves an impression and draws this foodie back in to return. Check it out if you are in the area!

Service was attentive and gracious. I started with a rose spritz, the avocado carpaccio, and the half roast chicken. The spritz was a delight. Not too sweet, very refreshing. The carpaccio was amazing with the smoked salt, and the briny caviar. My friend ordered the chips and dip, and heaven on earth is combining the two appetizers (a chip topped with avocado and then a dollop of creme fraiche/caviar). The chicken was okay. I should have gone with something else, but I panic-ordered. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't remarkable. I should have gone with a fancy salad or the lobster roll. My second drink, a glass of rose, was okay but wasn't served ice cold, a disappointment. I shared a chocolate chip cookie at the end of the meal, and it was absolutely delicious. I'd happily return with that crew of ladies, and I'd happily recommend this place for a date night.

Even though we had a reservation, it didn't seem to make a difference. We waited about 15 minutes just to find a host or hostess to be seated. During that time, we saw several other groups leave because no one was available to greet or seat them. It wasn't the best first impression and definitely set the tone for the visit. Once we were seated, the food was excellent. You can really tell that everything is made from scratch, and the quality and freshness stood out. The Garlic Parmesan Brussels Sprouts, topped with garlic aioli and Parmesan cheese, were delicious and packed with flavor. I also ordered the Kale Caesar Salad with grilled chicken, which was fresh and well-balanced with house greens, Parmesan cheese, and Caesar vinaigrette. My little ones ordered the Crispy Southern Fried Chicken Fingers with fries, and they both really enjoyed their meals. Overall, the food was definitely the highlight of our visit, but the service and lack of organization upon arrival could use improvement. If they can address the front-of-house experience, it would make for a much better visit.

I enjoyed the food; however, I think some details were missing or off for the price point. For example, the rib eye was requested for medium temp; however, it was medium rare and very chewy.
