The food was served hot , fast and fresh. I noticed that the French fries were especially tasty. I believe it's due to them being fried in 100% beef tallow, absolutely delicious and crisp! Our order was taken at the counter from a friendly staff member. Although it was super busy, the line moves very quickly. The inside was clean and had an old school diner feel. You can see the cooks cooking right there behind the counter. We ate outside on the patio because I had my dog with me. Every order was on point. Even my dog was pleased with his plain burger that I added to his kibble. I've eaten here over the years and I must say that it has improved. It is cleaner and the staff is very welcoming. A great place if you appreciate diner food served fresh and quickly. Great breakfast burritos too, that are so huge they last me for several meals. I will continue to patronize Angelo's as it is a generational family-owned business that is a landmark for Oceanside. I think it's pretty good drive through place for breakfast for dinner and vice versa. Service was pretty fast for stake and fries Togo. We went to RV camping close by and this is a great place to get food for my boy You can get breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very convenient for crabbing quick bites before or after the beach. Ordered 2 chicken strip meals totaling $30....horrible disappointment...drive thru so cannot go back...the second Angelo's location chicken strips were actual strips that were full of flavor and tender so thought to try this location since it is under the same family restaurant. Absolute horrible difference the fries were better quality but we bought it for the chicken strips and were not strips at all look like the trimmings from the other chicken items trying to re-purpose. No flavor, dry and not chicken strips literal chicken trimmings. Lost $30 and that is allot to lose off 2 meals and still hungry because that was to be my meal for my lunch break. Can't turn around too far from location. Hope they would make this right or at least improve the cook and use actual chicken strips and spices. Angelo's USED to be a dive diner where they had alright burgers and delicious fries and onion rings served in full paper bag containers. It's been a few decades since I ate here regularly, doing one of my evening visits with my father here each week. It had become a bit of a ritual, a Monster Bacon Cheeseburger, some fries, then a walk on the nearby beach. It was cheap, it was comforting, and it was something I looked forward to week after week. Years later, the drive hit me again to come back and relive those past days of glory. What I found in place of the dive diner I remember was a remodeled hipster bar with an expanded menu and a more beach themed aesthetic. Polished concrete floors, buffed planks as tables, and craft beer on tap ... things were not as they used to be. And it's surprisingly for the better. Angelo's is now cleaner, a bit more inviting, and the food is quite a bit tastier. The burgers used to be thin and a little dry. They're now juicier, better seasoned, and all-around improved. The fries and onions rings are as good as they used to be. And the expanded menu has me wanting to come back and try stuff I never thought I ever wanted from a diner. Many times when coming out to a place like this, it's rare I find more or better than I expected. And I am very happy to say that Angelo's did not disappoint. If you've been in the "O" for a little bit, then you know all about Angelos since they have a lockdown on Coast Highway in Oceanside! What is there like 7 stores on a 3 mile span? Kidding of course, there's only 5! But the iconic location most would recognize is the stand alone building that greets you as you enter Oceanside from the south (or bids you farewell as you leave) I've always had good service but my problem has been figuring out what to order? The menu is EXTENSIVE! It is more or less a diner so think fried or grilled items. Burgers, fries, onion rings etc. but then you get hit with the odd or random option such as a gyros sandwich which happens to be my go to whenever stopping here for some grub. I will say I don't go here all that often but it's definitely worth checking out. Food is above average if you are craving the items they serve. But the gyros is fantastic. There is a decent sauce and some pickles. The fries are very good--hot and crispy. While I love fries with a burger, I just need a handful but they make you buy a pile big enough for 2-3 people for close to $5.00, which is more than 50% of the cost of the crappy burger.
