After leaving from my last visit here I was pretty much over it, but upon leaving the owner talked with me and told me that his premium meats are a much smaller sandwich the specialty sandwiches are less meat. He suggested the hero which I got yesterday & here's a picture of it on a medium. It was yummilicious with turkey ham and roast beef with provolone cheese melted and I had all the bells and whistles on it. Then got a cup of chili. Its is a little on the pricey side for like 8 oz, just a little cup, and if you order it as a substitute for your chips and your cookie I believe it's like $3 extra. Regardless I had a free drink coupon for doing a survey after I left there restaurant last time. But I got to tell you the sandwich was really good it was juicy there was a ton of meat and a ton of cheese and it was just really really good. Michael the sandwich maker and the owner there trying real hard to make everybody happy . They've got a bunch of really different hot sauces on the side and it came with the really crispy dill pickle that I was very impressed with. Very crispy and very tasty. The chili is pretty much like all meat and just a little bit of beans and it's really hearty and very flavorful. They even give you a bag of oyster crackers to go with it. read more

It's just... okay. Pretty much a more expensive version of Subway, except you can't pick your individual ingredients. So if you like Subway, you'll like this place. I don't care for either. People weren't especially friendly but it was very clean, which is always nice. read more

Had a small tuna sub (via takeout). I liked the tuna and all of the toppings that are standard. My companions had tuna and the other one had meatball, which he said was excellent. Went today around 11:30am for lunch with coworkers. We wanted to sit outside at the tables but they were occupied by the nail shops employees next door. They were eating food from somewhere else. Don't they have a break room for that? I ordered the Smokehouse brisket sandwich. It was tasty but looked nothing like the picture. Kind of pricey for the size. Location of the drink machine or register needs to be moved as it gets cluttered back there. Layout seems odd. You refill your drink then turn around and you have to break through the ordering line to go back to your table. First time I tried a Firehouse Subs was in Arizona and their sandwiches were better. Not so chinsy/small again nothing like the picture. $13+ for a Medium combo. read more

Great subs and finally in the OC! I've eaten here back east and it is exactly the same with local Firehouse amenities (city of Orange). They also have 2 Plasma TV's for sports, etc. Awesome and 100% fresh. I get the Italian or the Smokehouse BBQ. Everything tastes great and any way you like it , hot or cold. When you walk into the place it's not a super big one, but you feel as if you have walked right into a fire house. There are quite a bit of fire fighters cloths n such all around. I love how they greater us as we walked right through the door. The staff is very friendly and patient as we looked over the menu and helped us to decide if our milk allergic companion can have the bread. They were very nice about it and didn't mind getting the list of ingredients for us. I love the coke free style machine that they have. It is so nice to have so many choices. Each time I come I like to have a slightly different drink each time. The food is very delicious! I had the meatball sub and a stake and cheese sub. Loved this place. Came here for the first time and ordered the beef brisket sub with melted cheddar cheese. I highly recommend trying it out, the flavor is amazing. The employees were extremeley friendly and had a sense of humor. They were also patient with it being my first time and taking forever to order. I also enjoyed the vibe here, the place is neatly decorated and clean. I read another review saying the subs are over priced. This isn't your typical sub shop like subway. You get great quality ingredients here and it tastes homemade with lots of good flavor. It's worth the price. When they brought out my sandwich I thought it was small compared to subway but oddly, it was MUCH more fulfilling. I left very full and satisfied. I have no complaints :) read more

First time ordering food through postmates for this place , and it wasn't great at all. Me and my fiancé wanted to try it for the first time and we weren't pleased, we got 2 subs one was a turkey sandwich and the other was a Philly cheese sandwich, they put SOOO MUCH DAMN MAYO on both sandwiches I couldn't even eat mine even after I took out the mayo,And the fact that it was dripping off my sandwich was disgusting. The Philly sandwich was not even great either they didn't seem to care much they literally threw a ball of onions on one spot and was cold . For the amount of time that we waited wasn't even long honestly, I'm pretty sure that's why the food was shitty. I have been seeing commercials for this place for sometime, and I eat at every surrounding joint, but never had an interest to come in here. They just put one up North next to the office I report to, and all of the staff has been raving about it... So I thought why not! I wasn't disappointed. The guy taking my order couldn't figure out the system, but he was probably new so free pass :) I ordered the turkey bacon ranch and added jalapeños and wow was it amazing! So much flavor, toasted, and not too much sauce. I will definitely be going back to get that sub again on a lunch break. It is also nice they have a couple televisions going with sports on. Interesting comment, sir. The driver told me the exact opposite thing. He said that he told the person at Firehouse subs to remember to pack my chips, because I had written down that they forgot the chips the last time. In other words he blamed firehouse subs for not packing the chips. So this has turned into one of those he said he said situations. Since nobody is owning their own shit, I'm forced to have to penalize both firehouse subs and the driver that delivered my order. I also had some choice words for UberEats. Ordered sandwiches to go for my wife and I, then received a call and stepped outside.  A younger kid working here stepped out the door and said something, I quickly ended the call and asked it it was for me.  He handed me the bag, but when I got home I found a small half sandwich.  I almost considered eating it to avoid getting back in the car after a long day, but it was very plain and small.  I drove back to the store, went in and began to tell the girl at the counter what happened when an older lady (manager?) Stepped in and interrupted me asking if I grabbed the right order.  I explained I had been on the phone and hadn't even heard a name, but that be brought the order out to me directly, when she accused me of taking the wrong person's order.  As I tried to explain myself, she interrupted me multiple times asking me my name repeatedly.  As I was quickly losing patience based on her poor incredibly rude attitude, I finally let her told her that she was extremely rude and that I was not stupid, and was just trying to explain what happened without getting interrupted.  I told her my name, she pointed at the receipt that listed another name and again said I took the wrong persons order. I do not blame the kid who handed the order directly to me as he may have mentioned the name and I didn't hear.  I do not even care that I had to return at that point, but the audacity of this lady to treat a paying customer in the manner is ridiculous.  She was rude and talked down to me as if I was a child.  This was my second time trying firehouse and the sandwiches were great both times, but the actions of this clearly management supervisory role woman left a horrible taste in my mouth.  I will never go back to this store, and probably won't even try Firehouse subs again after that unacceptable experience. Stopped by the other day to order lunch. The moment I walked in I was greeted and my order was taken. The woman who helped me gave me some suggestions since I told her I've only been here one other time. She let me know what her current favorite sandwich is so I took her word and it was delicious! The bread was soft and warm and every add-on tasted fresh as if they just cut them that morning! While I waited for my order I went into the restroom, it was pretty clean I must add! Had my friend stop to get me a sandwich at 9:20 (they are open till 10) and they refused to make a sandwich. He asked if they are open till 10pm the guy said yes but they won't make him a sandwich because the rest of the stores in the complex were closed. I was really looking forward to trying this place but seeing as how they wouldn't make me a sandwich I guess I'll never know! Bad customer service, if you want to close at 9pm maybe you should change your hours to reflect that and not refuse service to paying customers. I would never allow my staff to treat customers this way, if you are open till 10 you should be open till 10. read more

This place was just ok. The story is that it was started by firefighters to help firefighters. If this is what food tastes like when it's made in a firehouse, I guess that explains why they fight fires instead of running restaurants. Overall the food was edible, but I don't think I'd go back. It has the taste of Subway without any of the deals, and the overall theme seems a bit overdone and cheesy for my liking. I give it 3 stars because the service wasn't bad and the food was mediocre. read more
