So, I've been frequenting this Polly's for quite some time now, and I've noticed a few recurring issues. 1. The waiter (Angel) we consistently get is an older male who is not very pleasant to my wife and me. Every time we visit, we're treated to the same guy with the same lackluster service. He's quite short with our orders, and if we ask him to fetch something, he gives us a condescending look. However, once a regular leaves, he suddenly becomes friendly, smiling and even calling them by name. I'm not sure what's going on.\ 2. On a separate note, my wife had the chicken pot pie, and it was not up to par. The broccoli was excessively large and unchopped, the chicken tasted old, and the crust was equally disappointing. To make matters worse, both pieces of the pie looked like they had been smashed or sat on. I mean, this is Polly's Pie! They're renowned for their exquisite pies, and both pieces looked like this (as shown in the photo below). 3. Pollys needs to take immediate action to improve its service and address the issue with the male waiter. It's disheartening to see that there's only one female waitress on staff. read more

I stopped by Polly's today because I'd been receiving emails about their Wednesday Bingo nights and finally decided to check it out. The email didn't include a lot of details, so I called ahead to make sure my son would be able to play. They confirmed he could, so we arrived a few minutes before 7 p.m. for the second bingo session. We ordered a few appetizers and some drinks. The food was average--nothing that really stood out. One thing that disappointed me was the advertised drink special. The email promoted "$5 beers & glasses of wine every Wednesday" and included the fine print: "Dine-in only. Does not apply to bottles of wine. Must be 21 years old with valid ID to purchase alcohol. Must accompany food." There was no mention of needing a coupon. When I asked our server about the special, he told me I needed a coupon. I showed him the email, but the special still wasn't honored, and it didn't seem like he checked with anyone about it. I ordered a glass of wine anyway, hoping it would ring up at $5, but it was charged at the regular price. We also had an issue with our first appetizer. After waiting quite a while, we asked our server about it, and he seemed confused. It turned out he had never entered the order, so that explained the long wait. Despite those issues, we still had a fun evening. The bingo was enjoyable, and both my son and I ended up winning prizes! We chose cinnamon rolls and muffins, which was a nice bonus. This review is for their Fresh Strawberry Pie ($24.49) only. I've had my fair share of Fresh Strawberry Pies from Polly's Pies from Lake Forest to Santa Ana, but this is my first time at this location in Orange. I noticed that each location makes their Fresh Strawberry Pies a little different. From the pie crust to the glaze, they vary a little bit. I was a little apprehensive about the Fresh Strawberry Pie from here because the crust looked so light and pale. To me, it looked undone and therefore, won't taste as good compared to a more well-baked crust. I was so surprised that the crust was flaky and the glaze was delicious! Honestly, this may be my new favorite location to get this strawberry pie because it was so good! The cashier was so nice to let me choose which pie I wanted out of the six that she had available. Service: We had Felicia as our server today. Super inattentive with zero personality. Food: I wanted prime rib so I decided to try Polly's. The prime rib itself is very much worth it. Good cut of meat that you would probably pay double for elsewhere. There was a side of vegetables which consisted of brussel sprouts and red bell peppers - yuck. The dinner entrees no longer come with soup or salad which was disappointing. Then to top things off I wanted a slice of chocolate silk pie. Felicia told us they no longer sell this particular pie by the slice but I could get chocolate cream, which is a completely different and not very good pie. I had not been to this location since I was in 5th grade when my small class walked here for pie. It is the best place for delectable freshly baked pies, I mean, it is in the name. Came in for a nice family dinner and had a bad experience. Our server Angel wasn't very welcoming and very short the whole time serving us. Not very hospitable and it wasn't a busy time we were there. He was very friendly to the older Caucasian people who came in. It felt like we were a burden being there. It felt uncomfortable trying to confirm our dinners came with a side. The food was good, prime rib was delicious! But service wasn't the greatest. His name wasn't even on the receipt so we didn't know who served us. Hopefully he has a better day and provides better service to others. read more

This place is always clutch for consistency. I love the atmosphere here, it has a very nice and cozy vibe. In addition I've always met some friendly folks here. I've never had food here that was over or under cooked. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong with the grub. The only part lacking for this specific location is the wait help can be hit or miss. This is our favorite Pollys! We love all of the food.... especially the breakfast / pancakes. The banberry pie is amazing too! I think they have a meal deal that includes a free slice of pie, so that's always good. I just discovered too that I really love their club sandwich. I placed an on-line order for coffee and cookies for a memorial. It was so nice to arrive with our order ready and waiting. The cashier asked if we needed help loading the car. We were in/out in just a couple of minutes. The coffee service and assorted cookies were a hit. The cookies were labeled and arranged nicely and in a sturdy box ready to serve. Polly's is must for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Today we celebrated my daughter making the high school lacrosse team. She wanted Polly's. Hands down Polly's has the best pancakes around. They are fluffy, moist but not mushy. And the pancakes soak up the syrup perfectly. Scrambled eggs and extra crispy hashbrowns with bacon for sure slaps. My daughter and wife went with the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup which they loved. My son is a chicken strip and fries fanatic. Ambiance is always mellow and chill. Tried to get in to a nearby restaurant but there wasn't any parking and the number of people waiting for a table suggested that we go elsewhere. I remembered that there was a pollys pies on Tustin in orange so we went there for brunch. Still had to wait but there were parking spaces aavailable in the lot and space outside to wait for a table. Once we were seated the server came to take our drink orders. Drinks arrived and we were ready to oorder brunch. I had French toast with eggs and bacon, my companion had French toast with eggs, bacon, and sausage. Everything arrived to the table hot and fresh. Our book club opted for late brunch for our monthly meet-up. Not a usual spot to host a book club meeting, but we couldn't turn down pie. Being a Sunday afternoon, the parking lot had ample space, with plenty of seating available. I came in last, but our party of six got a table quite easily with no wait. Their menu is large, classic diner style options with a separate menu just for their desserts. I opted for one of their specials- Brat and Eggs ($13.99) - Menu stated we could choose any bakery item with this choice, but our server said the only thing I could have was their blueberry muffin. I even said I'd pay the difference for a slice of pie. This was probably when I realized service was not going to be great. I had also asked for a Vanilla Cold Brew ($5.29) - specifically asked for it half sweet. Was it? Maybe to their standards? It was way too sweet for me to finish and she didn't bother to ask how it was after. Tried Banana Cream Pie and their Pumpkin Praline Cheesecake - just overly sweet and artificial tasting with both. And the food here is very good.I like it because of the very traditional home style type food. However I'm coming here to rank the veggie burger. I've been going to almost every place in the City of Orange which have veggie burgers, and then I have ranked them on my pad of paper. As of late, i've been coming here to yelp and putting my ranking on this site. The Pollys veggie burgers not exceptional but occasionally. I rank 7 -8. The sauce in the burger makes it better. Me and my wife met for dinner here on a Thursday night after work and we hadn't been here for a few years cause this location the food and service wasn't good anymore. But it appeared last night made up for past because we both enjoyed the food and our server lady was very nice and professional. The restaurant was very clean and updated from the last time we ate here and the menu has gotten better too. Prices are very good. My salad was awesome because they surprisingly have a great tasting ranch dressing and my salad was cold, fresh and crisp. I had the steak sandwich and it was awesome and my wife loved her Chicken Pot Pie. We even took home a delicious slice of pie that came with the Pot Pie order. Wow! read more
