This place need to lower the sound of their music being played. The worker couldn't hear my name and took my order down incorrectly. This could have been prevented as I could have checked my receipt but I trusted the workers there to do their job correctly, especially since I tipped 10% just to put in my order.... Which made my order more expensive by two dollars just to have the wrong sandwich given to me.... FYI the only reason this isn't getting one star is because the worker making the sandwich offered to take back the Firehouse Hero and remake what I originally wanted, the Firehouse Cheese and Steak. I didn't have any additional time to expend and wait around as my lunch is only 30 minutes. Used a glitching app. The app didn't accept my order. So I closed app. Ordered dominos. (Can't go wrong with dominos) Then I received a late Computer generated email saying this isn't a receipt and they are making your order. Hate to say this since I love their food but I will never be eating there again. Placed an online order and card was charged, but when I went to pick it up at 4:50 pm (at the store address on the order confirmation email), the doors were locked, all the lights were out and nobody was in the store. Called their number multiple times and no answer. I'm assuming this location is still open (it's still on the website), so totally unprofessional and not excusable even if I do somehow get my money back. I understand that locations can shut down but still show as open on Google or some site like that, but seriously take those off your website if so, so people don't place orders they won't ever get. I'm not normally a fan of sub type sandwiches for lunch, but I decided to give The Firehouse a try as I saw an ad for the new Pub Steak sandwich. It looked pretty good in the picture, but as usual with most food ad pics, the real thing comes out no where looking as good. I get it, ad pics are all staged, squirted with shiny stuff to make the food shine and perfect lighting. So anyways I go in and order the medium size for about $9.00 inc tax. I'm thinkin $9.00 bucks is a little high for a fast casual food sandwich, and that's just for the sandwich. You want chips and a drink, you got a $12 sandwich lunch. Now, I don't mind paying $12 for lunch if it all super scrumptious and really tasty and filling, but so was not the case here. The sandwich came out pretty fast and it was sitting there in a basket, kinda looking like I needed to eat this thing sideways, as all the stuffings and topped with these crunchy crispy onion like thingies were piled up, so if I ate it normal ways, all the stuff would fall out. So I sort of tried to eat it like a hotdog in a bun, side of the opening of the wheat bun up. This was a goopy sandwich with all the cheese stuff mixed in with the meat. There was meat all right, but it didn't play a leading role in the sandwich experience, more like I tasted the cheese more. I did like the crunch the onion thingies added though. The bread was very soft and really didn't offer much substance, like a sourdough roll might of. I'll say the sandwich didn't taste "bad" at all, but it, let's just say it was not very memorable. For the price, I'd of hoped for more. The service was good by the counter order taker, but watching the sandwich makers work, they didn't seem to be enjoying their jobs and just going through the motions to make the sandwiches. I know it's hard to motivate employees at these mundane tasks, but In N Out sure has a motivated crew, so it is possible. I'll probably not return to the Firehouse, but now I know. read more

This is a huge firehouse subs location. I was amazed at the square footage compared to other locations I've visited. It's been a long time since I've been to one, so I was excited! I got the turkey bacon ranch sandwich. I didn't do chips or a drink because I wasn't very hungry and the sandwich prices are a bit steep. $8 for a normal size sub sandwich? $5.29 is for a 4". I was glad my dad paid for my sandwich since he chose the place. Regardless, the sandwich was really delicious. I like that they are warm sandwiches but not crunchy. The employees were about normal. Nobody seemed to be in a great mood by any means, but nobody was rude. I did like that they offer to round up your change to first responder programs. That was cool. They also have the touch screen coke machine which us good for drinks, but also means longer waits at the drink station. My only real issue is this place looked like they hadn't swept the floors in DAYS. There was food bits and bits of trash all over the huge floorspace. It was bad enough that it didn't look like they hadn't gotten to it in an hour or two, more like a day or two. Kind of gross. Overall, it was an average experience. read more

My husband and I ordered two subs, chips and a soft drinks to dine in. We waited for more than 17 minutes at which, my husband subs came but mine did not. We asked the server what happened to my sub and he had to ask the prep area for the sub at which, they ask our name and receipt in search for the missing sub. This was a joke the way they were running around trying to figure out what happened. Now keep in mind this place was not busy during the time we placed our order. However, there were at least 7 employees. Two cashiers, two prepping the subs. I do not have a clue what the others jobs were. I know that someone could have been cleaning the tables that needed some attention. Back to my sub that finally arrived 20 minutes later. We will not be returning. I came here as a quick stop when we were driving from Tahoe to San Jose. We were greeted upon entering the establishment. I ordered a custom chicken sandwich on wheat. I asked for certain toppings but when I ate the sandwich in the car it was missing some items I asked for. My friend was the driver so he ordered a custom sandwich- brisket. Both our sandwiches were very saucy and messy. I can't imagine eating their signature subs because they are full of condiments. As far as speed, it's the slowest sandwich establishment I've visited. They take forever to build your sandwich. Quiznos, Togos, Subway and Panera are faster. Ok, would have given at least 3 stars if I visited pre-co vid. I went over the weekend between lunch and dinner when not busy. I specifically told the cashier while ordering that this was my very first time at fire house subs. I couldn't tell if she smiled or not because of the mask. I ordered a New York Steamer combo on wheat. I took it home and was quite shocked at how everything was just haphazardly thrown on. Should have taken a picture as I had to rearrange what little meat was in the sandwich so it wasn't in a big clump. Ended up eating just half the bread. The wheat bread was good but such a tiny amount of meat and the toppings were minimal. Don't think I will try again when I always get more meat at Subway for less money. Firehouse Subs was on my "To Try List" for quite some time and finally got a chance to try it. Came here with a friend for lunch and the place was quite packed but service was quick. Parking lot is always full and it can get a little frustrating to find a parking. Inside the restaurant it is nicely decorated, open, clean and we were greeted by staff as soon as we walked in. Used to be good. Now, not so much. The people working here now are not up to par. How hard can it be to make a Cheesesteak sandwich with only steak, cheese and sautéed onions (extra cheese and onions)? Not only did they get it wrong after repeating it 3 times when I was paying, when they went to remake it the gal tried to repeat it back to me and got that wrong twice. Then, when the 2nd try came out... no extra onions... Guess the one down side to a good economy is the competent people that used to work here got better jobs. By the way, this was after the lunch rush... if there was one... so being busy was not an excuse. However, the basic materials are good quality so if you don't care what you get, this place should be fine. Stay away from special orders. First time here and it wasn't bad. Tasted just like Subway in my opinion. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken sandwich and it was tasty. I chose everything I wanted inside so I knew I would like it. The lady taking my order was really polite and patient with me and walked me through the menu. Awesome customer service! Family friendly eatery with cool little decorations around so it felt comfortable. Prices were average and fair for sandwiches. My favorite part about Firehouse Subs was the sauce bar. When we arrived we were told someone had taken Our sandwiches, however the guys were making our order again for us. They are finally in Sacramento. I have been waiting for them to come this way for couple years now. They are located in the Chase/chipotle parking lot. Truxel and Gateway blvd. Since Firemen started this chain a few years back, the whole theme of this restaurant had a lot to do with firemen. The place inside has a great set up. Pretty big dining area. Once we stepped inside, all the workers yelled out,"Welcome to Firehouse." That felt great. Hope they keep that up after the grand opening effect dies down. Now unto the splendid delicious sandwiches they offer. They have about 10 different subs that they offer. The combo meals come with a medium sandwich, but you can upgrade to a large for $2 more, that's a great deal. I had ordered the smokehouse beef cheddar brisket, and damn, it was delicious. The workers call out your name and bring the food to your table, great customer service. The flavor of the smoked beef and the soft bread and how can I forget the sauce that they put on it, it was to damn good. One thing that they do not offer is fries. They do have some delicious cookies and brownies though. I will be back many more times. My go to place in Natomas now. read more

My fave sandwich place used to be Quizno's...I loved getting their chicken carbonara on wheat with extra carbonara sauce. Sadly, due to lack of locations and apparent bankruptcy, I rarely get to eat there anymore. As if coming to my rescue in Natomas, where there is great need for more variety, Firehouse Subs took over the spot previously occupied by many (Robeks, etc.) and set up shop next to the popular Chipotle off Truxel by Chili's and Carino's. You walk in and are heartily greeted by "Welcome to Firehouse!" Nice. The menu is quite varied and has, to me, quite a lovely selection. Oh, and most of their subs are served hot (uh, Firehouse Subs with the fireman theme, so makes sense). I decided on a medium-sized Italian on wheat with no tomatoes. Soooo friggin' good! I took mine to go, so it actually sat for about an hour before I got home and ate it. By that time, all the meats and cheese and fixins had melted and melded together for one awesome flavor. Mmmmmm! And I know this may sound weird, but I actually really like how they cut the sandwiches in half at a sharp angle, so you kinda get a pointy tip from which to take your first bite...I like that. Anyway, grabbed a to-go menu on the way out, because I sure as heck am gonna be going back to Firehouse Subs to try more of their sandwich selections. Maybe I'll see you there? :) read more

There's nothing I like more than a good sandwich. Being that I work in Natomas, my options are aplenty. One of my coworkers recommended Firehouse Sandwiches and it just so happened to be a day that I was craving a Hot Sub. I came in on a Monday around 1:30. I was helped immediately and had about a 5 minute wait from the time I ordered to the time I walked out the doors. That was a huge plus since I only take a 30 minute lunch. On this particular trip I went in thinking I was going to order a meatball sub (my favorite), however, I ended up trying the Smokehouse BBQ brisket sandwich. I wasn't disappointed. The brisket is slow cooked for 16 hours and you can tell that this is in fact true. The brisket is flavorful yet soft. The BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese add a great touch to an already flavor packed sub. I ordered a large which came out to be about 11 bucks which after seeing how much food you received is actually a decent price. In reality, I could have ordered the regular sub and it would have been perfect for a lunch portion. (A fact that I learned for my next visit). I ended up taking the leftovers of my large sub and ate it for dinner. The staff was helpful, polite even and made my first experience at Firehouse subs a great one. 4 stars for now being that I have only been here once. I'm sure that the rating will jump up after I try their meatball sub. Being that there are only 2 locations in the Sacramento area, Natomas being one and Roseville the other, if you happen to be in the area and get a craving for a sandwich, you can't do much better than Firehouse. read more

I ordered a build your own veggie sandwich on wheat. I had a lot of requests on it and they got it all right. No mayo, oil, peppers, mushrooms, or onions. I was disappointed that the peppers, onions, and mushrooms only came sautéed. I only want fresh veggies on my veggie sandwich - don't want them to be sautéed in oil or butter. My absolute favorite sandwich place has finally expanded over to the west coast and I will now be broke and fat but very happy. I am still upset at myself for missing the grand opening but I got the chance to go for lunch today and as per usual, it was delicious. My go-to sandwiches are the club on a sub and the italian. Pretty much anything with sliced deli meat is fantastic - there's really no going wrong. The bread is always the perfect amount of warm and soft. The sandwiches are never dry - I even get mine without mustard and mayo! The medium is the perfect size for my appetite (I'm guessing somewhere around an 8 inch?) and the combos come with a drink and chips, but I tend to substitute a cookie or brownie instead of chips. This location is actually quite large compared to the Firehouses I've been to in other states (Missouri, Tennessee, etc). There's lots of tables on the inside and quite a few outside on the patio too - great for the lunch time rush since the Chipotle next door often runs out of seating. To me, this isn't really a question of IF I'm coming back, but more of WHEN I'm coming back. read more

I first had Firehouse Subs randomly in Charleston, West Virginia and was blown away. When I heard one was opening in Natomas, I was ecstatic. The delicious subs, the amazing array of hot sauces, and the futuristic Coke machine with all of the crazy flavor choices. I went on opening day and it was packed. Everyone working there was energetic and joyful. There were balloons and free pens, keychains, and totebags. I ordered the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket. It was delicious. I got some chocolate chip cookies too which were soft and fresh. It was a delicious meal and I can't wait to go back.
