Funny thing about Firehouse Subs-I don't come here too often but when I do-I always wonder why I wait so long between visits....Well let me tell ya how 1 of my recent visits to Firehouse Subs recently went in Natomas on Truxel Road. Well a fun little hobby of mine is to enjoy participating in birthday freebies that casual dining places like Firehouse Subs offer,but some do come with qualifications-this establishment being one of those and the basic requirements is you have to make at least a $1 purchase 6 months before your birthday and earlier than 7 days before your birthday to qualify for a free medium sub of choice. So it was getting close and I realized I hadn't made a purchase to qualify so after searching the app to find a $1 purchase I realized I was actually kinda hungry so I decided to buy a kids combo for $4.99 and I went with a meatball sandwich.The combo comes with choice of drink or bottled water-I went with water and I think a cookie but I upgraded to the brownie for an additional $1. I ordered from the parking lot so I just walked in and with 4 minutes I had my food was ready. Parking at this location is kinda hectic while also being convenient as they share a lot with many popular businesses so it can get crazy in there but there are so many spots-it balances out. The lobby was nice and clean-plenty of seats-they have my favorite type of soda machine-the one that looks vintage but with the touch screen with the crazy amount of flavor options for your soda-immediately got me thinking " why did I get a bottled water?" I totally forgot they had a hot sauce bar-that used to be one of my favorite things about Firehouse-as a true chili-head,being able to try the different hot sauces was something I always enjoyed. Now let's talk about the food- The brownie was terrible-did not enjoy this at all-in fact I couldn't even finish it-tasted bad and for sure wasn't worth a calorie past the 1st bite-so total dud. The mini sandwich I got was the meatball sub-basically a meatball covered in melted cheese and marinara sauce.I don't know if I could've eaten than thing any faster-I enjoyed it so much-my initial thought was "what was I thinking getting a mini of something so delicious"I wanted more -it was so good-I don't have any critiques-it was super yummy-didn't even need any hot sauces-I really enjoyed it. In closing-mission accomplished-This visit qualified me for the birthday freebie in the future and I honestly enjoyed my little mini treat from Firehouse-I will for sure report at a later date how the birthday freebie experience went-but I'm thinking based on this experience,it's going to be great-Stay Tuned. read more

I went here because the line at Chipotle next door was to long, lol. I kind of regret it and should've waited there. I tried their new beef brisket sandwich and it wasn't too bad but wasn't good either. It's a solid 3/5 for me. The bread was warm and soft. The meat was tender. The medium sandwich was over $15 and I was still very hungry afterwards. The size small was like 2.5 inches long, no lie. Why would anyone order that one? Haha. Adding Firehouse Subs to my sub Sammy rotation! For multiple reasons I really had an enjoyable experience with this Natomas Firehouse Subs. I made my order online and it was ready to go right on time. The servers were very nice and inside was very clean and orderly. I got the Italian sub and it was amazing: the bread was so soft, produce was fresh and I love that a pickle is included on the side! Also have to shoutout the chopped pickle add on. We ordered in yesterday. I got a break from cooking for lunch at least. The deal for a buy 1 get 1 sandwich was awesome. So, service is already on point. I can't speak to the ambiance because we didn't go out but the food was delicious. Just how I remembered it. We had 2 hook and ladders with all the fixins'. Decent food place, but they committed one of the big sins I hate at a food place, one of the employees working on food started touching the front cashier screen to help with something, then went straight to working on food again. Very sad to leave a 1 STAR because I really love the sandwich's here but when the restrooms at a restaurant are so bad I can't help but think how the rest of the restaurant is (kitchen).... The restroom is so nasty! Smells horrible, no soap & paper towel dispenser is not working either. The staff has always been very friendly though but just can't get over the horrible restrooms. The employees at this location really are wonderful. I had a short notice for providing lunch for 15 today and I called to see if I could pick up before the time estimated on the website. They're kinda hit or miss when it comes to service. They don't offer military discounts any more. Not even the free drink they started doing in place of the discount. We've doordashed from this place three times and each time they just give us bread... and meat... nothing else. Despite putting all the toppings we want on it that's all we ever get. Each. Time. First time we were like okay mistakes happen... second time we were pissed and haven't ordered from them since today... and we regret it. It's not door dash systems. We order other food and they always come to us how we order. All I can say is don't do any sort of online order with them. They suck. Now on to the food. we have frequented this location for a while now. The meatballs are simply delcious, our favorite. From fellow yelp friend Rob A and his ambtion for meatball subs from Firehouse and his recommendation on it. We came we tried and My kids approved it and so did i. Tender and flavorful. Not greasy or hard just right!! My other fave is their steak and cheese. Tender beef, not fatty and loaded up with mushrooms, peppers and onions if you like. We have tried a few of the turkey sandwhiches and they have ham and roastbeef too. They do toast all sandwhiches, so if your not a toasted sandwhich kinda person, let them know. They have a real good deal if you got kids 10 and under. Everyday from 4pm to 7pm upto 2 kids eat free with each adult meal purchase. That will save you around $12 if you have 2 kids. And they get the whole meal too, sandwhich, drink and choice of item (cookies, brownies, or a bag of chips). If for some reason you like 5 gallons buckets with lid included, they sell thier pickel buckets for $2 which goes to 1st responders and helps buying life saving equipment. That reminds me you also get a dill pickel spear with each sandwhich purchase. Place has been clean and helpful employees each visit and food has been good. They have a huge selection of sauces and such too from wicked hot to mild. Also kids get a free little firehat!! And they have a rewards program. Lots of ways to save with them. read more

Why is this so awesome? Lovin you some lemonade, clear soda, rootbeer, coke? But you wanna have that YES factor to your drink? You can choose coke vanilla, cherry coke, strawberry lemonade.. the choices are like the sandwiches, so much to choose from! Parking is in a private lot, but can be a challenge during typical meal time hours, since the neighbors are other restaurants and a bank. I figured a turkey and cheese is nearly impossible to mess up. I ordered my sandwich to go and was pleased to see that they come in cute little boxes that prevents your sandwich from rolling all over the place and getting squished. I worked at *name redacted* for a few years so I am pretty critical of sandwiches. All in all this place is a go. They weren't shy with the turkey portion and did I mention how soft the bread was? When someone in my office ordered a catering order - the restaurant called in and started yelling out food items they were missing. They did not introduce themselves, nor did they ask for anyone. I had to figure out what co worker the food went to. (we have over 200 people in my office) . I asked the man the persons name on the ordered and transferred him over. When he showed up to drop off their food, he proceeded to explain to me how rude I was. I don't think any business should approach someone that way. He once again didn't Introduce himself, or ask for anyone, just handed me the large bag and proceeded to call me rude. This is not how you conduct pleasant business sir, you get what you give and frankly, I'll make sure to not refer this place to anyone. read more

This is my 1st time here. The front door was open I walked in at 10:30 am. There were 4 employees in the store. There was one older gentleman on the phone that appeared to be the owner. There were 3 employees that were younger that were making sandwiches. I walked in and stood 5' in front of the 3 employees. I waited there for a minute and a 1/2 and not 1 of them looked up nor greeted me or did anything to acknowledge my presence after a minute and a 1/2! While Natomas has way more sandwich shops than we care to visit, I do appreciate having a Firehouse Subs nearby. I find their warm sandwiches satisfyingly soft and melt in your mouth delicious. They have a unique menu of specialty meat and cheese combos with the option to have your sandwich warm or cold. The last time we visited, my husband and I ordered the New York Steamer (corned beef brisket and pastrami, provolone, deli mustard, mayo and Italian dressing) and Firehouse Steak and Cheese (steak, provolone, sautéed onions and bell peppers, mayo and deli mustard). Both sandwiches were really good- so good we finished them really fast. Or, could it be they were a little small for the price? Firehouse subs also come with a pickle on the side. "Do you want a pickle with your sandwich?" YES, get the pickle. Their pickles are good, almost like the pickles at our other local favorite (rhymes with "bandera") same flavor, just smaller. Now for the knock. The store did a great job providing hand sanitizer and socially distant markers for those waiting to order and customer service at the ordering counter was great... but then, the guy making our sandwiches didn't have his nose covered! Come on man! We are 10 months into this pandemic with a surge occurring and you still haven't figured out how to properly wear a mask? I get wearing a mask isn't always comfortable (trust me, I have to wear one all day for work also), but you are making sandwiches for others to consume. The site of seeing you breathing on every sandwich you are making for others consumption is frightening. Please, if you work in the food industry, wear your mask properly. People are afraid, many small businesses are trying to survive and not wearing your mask during food preparation scares people away.
