First time visiting this establishment. Interesting concept and I am totally a fan of supporting local firefighters. The decor was interesting and went well with the theme of the establishment. Visited on a Saturday during the lunch hour. The place was packed and I was willing to wait to place my order and get my sandwich. I ordered a tuna on wheat with everything on it. I waited approximately 25 minutes for my sandwich it seemed staff were overwhelmed and perhaps required additional assistance. There was a lot of doordash orders that seemed to be the priority for completing first before the walk in orders. The tuna sandwich was good but it was nothing special. Firehouse Subs is a popular choice for lunch near the Simi Valley Town Center and I was looking for an alternative to the Chipotle next door so I tried this sandwich spot a few times over the years. My initial impression was that it is a more expensive Togo's. I think the quality of Firehouse has actually gone down over time compared to when they first opened this location. The best part of the experience was the mobile app, which I used to avoid the long lunch line. I ordered the steak, pepper & cheese sandwich which was not good at all. Bland airplane food at best. On the recommendation of the staff I only order the turkey sandwich called the "hook and ladder", but it is mediocre overall and I'm not even surprised anymore when they forget the side pickle. Last night 8/21/23, 6:05pm I called Simi Firehouse Subs to place an order. I was asked to be put on hold and agreed. I waited 10 minutes and finally I disconnected. Immediately I called back and the call went to voicemail after ringing a few times. I tried calling 10 times and was sent to the voicemail which kept saying the voicemail box has not been set up yet. Believing the store was crowded, I drove over to place our order. What a surprise to me when I walked in and discovered that there was not a single customer in the store. I also I was perplexed when walking through the door, I was not greeted with Hello, or Welcome to Firehouse Subs, or even a smile, when the employees looked at me. All they did was stand there, looking unhappy. I walked up to the counter and asked Andres to speak with the manager. He hesitated, and stated that there was no manager, and it was he with the most authority. I asked him "Where are all the customers,? I called 25 minutes ago and was placed on hold for 10 minutes, then subsequently called back numerous times, with the phone going to voicemail." He had no answer. I then asked him for the card of the owner which he gave me the card of Nerses Teshoian. I have been a Firehouse neighbor and rewards customer at this store for at least six years. I've never had this kind of treatment, nor have I ever seen their employees, not smiling, even this entire time that I waited for my order. I visited your store last week, and had a young lady that waited on me, I ordered two large sandwiches and when I got home and opened up my bag, I ended up with three sandwiches and was charged for three. I'm sure that the problem was miscommunication, and the fact that the music was so loud that neither of us could hear each other and that she spoke so very softly was also an issue. Is it any wonder that so many restaurants in Simi Valley end up failing? Especially the ones near this store. When customers are treated like this, it's no wonder that they stop coming to these restaurants. And just for the record, the last agreement that was sent by Firehouse, Subs Corporate, indicated that they were reducing the value of the points, to where it would take many more purchases to be able to get a reward. I've been to Firehouse Subs twice, maybe three times at most and I can honestly say this place is Outstanding. Whether you're an actual fireman or not, you will want to be one after eating here, ok maybe not, but it's a very fun place to grab a sandwich and feel apart of the team. The place is very clean and extremely well themed with a fire house motif. The sandwiches taste super fresh and are priced fairly. Despite the Simi Valley Town Center being a total dud of a mall, foot traffic at this Sub shop is always hoppin. There is plenty of seating inside and they have a big screen tv usually playing sports (olympics we're playing my last visit). Staff are friendly and hustle to make your lunch in a timely and efficient manner. Great selection of chips, cookies and brownies and I love their Coca-Cola Freestyle soda dispenser. Give me pastrami or corned beef. With regards to bang for your buck I gotta give the win to The Hat. Let me share a few things with you all. One this concept is founded by Fireman with the interior like a fire station with boots and hats and jackets displayed throughout the location. For the kids they give them a plastic fire hat. Nice on their part. But the one thing that I personally really like is they give back to First Responders,in providing that they have the right tools to do there job. It's with any job that we may do. As another reviewer said, this sub shop blows away the competition, especially Jersey Mike's. Service was fast, friendly, and caring. We didn't feel like just one more customer in the door; rather that they were glad we were there. Haley was excellent at the counter and with follow up. Sweet person! Bright, colorful, and full of firefighter decorations which is fun for all ages to be surrounded by. Their literature states they were founded by firemen. They offer various promotions via their website, and also raise funds for firefighter-related charities. The Hook & Ladder Light was quite tasty and satisfying given it was under 500 calories. Great sandwiches, but on my last visit, I ordered a combo with BBQ chips and a chocolate chip cookie. When I arrived, the sign said everything was in the bag. You just needed to grab your drink. When I got home, there weren't any chips, and I was missing the chocolate chip cookie. I am not happy that I was missing food, especially with how much things cost these days . Firehouse! I was excited to hear that there would be a location close by me. Friends were telling me about the new shop like it was a local start up, not realizing that it is actually a HUGE chain in the east. Having lived in Orlando for a period of time I was excited. I never visited firehouse much when I was there, but I did enjoy it when I would go. It head and shoulders better than subway (where I never eat) or quizonos / togos / JMikes. Sadly I have to update with a very negative review. My husband and I eat Firehouse Subs very often and we always love them. Yesterday, we ordered online, I think it's eat24 and this Simi location was listed so we ordered and paid. My husband went to pick up our order and it didn't exist. They said they don't use eat24 at that location. My husband showed them his order on his phone so they kindly made the order. No big deal. We appreciated it. A little less than an hour later, I became ill. A little while after that, my husband became ill. Food poisoning sucks! I've dealt with it once before and you know when you have it. Since that was all either of us ate yesterday, it had to have been the food or someone didn't wash their hands after using the restroom. I used to drive to Simi from TO just to get sub almost every week, but not anymore since I have small children. I have been wanting to try Firehouse Subs. I've heard really good things about it. I finally got to try it today! When you walk in it has the fire station theme throughout. Reminded me of being at the fire station with my dad as a kid. They give kids fire hats to make them feel part of the firehouse experience, which my niece loved! I ordered the Italian.
