Update 8/29/19: Back again for my Dr. appointment. I had already packed the hubby's chips in his lunch, with no sandwich! Told him I'd drop off a surprise. Finished early at the Dr., so I went thru the drive thru with no cars in front of me! I ordered two small steam rollers(?), and two chili's. I was kidding when I asked if they were opening a shop in south Reno... but he said "yes we are"!!!!! I had them bag the sandwich and chili into two separate bags and dropped off the hubby's lunch (curbside) to his office. I get a call that it was the perfect lunch! Perfect not stringy or fatty meat! This place is crazy expensive. I know some of their profits go to support local fire departments. That's totally great! But man, is it expensive! Im not cheap either! Ha! I just don't understand why it's so pricey for a sandwich from this place. Service is good. I've never had any items missing from my order and the food does taste better than some other sandwich shops- Just not sure if it's worth it for the price to feed a family of say 4, all meals. It'll literally cost you $60-$70... I've never been inside- just drive thru. But looks clean, food tastes fresh and like I said, theres also a good cause behind it. Last time I was here- I got 4 large sandwich meals (mind you- the sandwiches are not actually that big) and a side of Mac n cheese. It was $77... I know inflation and all. But sheesh. I have always loved going to firehouse for a great sub, but then this last time I stopped in on my way to work to buy me a small sub.. I basically only received half a sandwich. Like really? So you're saying a small sandwich got smaller and its only half a sandwich? The service could use a refresher course on welcoming in a customer. I see all the negative comments about the crew on Yelp but I have to say my experience was the complete opposite. There were 5 team members on a Friday night and every one of them was working hard and attentive to me when I walked in. Very polite and helpful. The food was delicious. I had high hopes for Firehouse Subs. The building looks cool and new; inside was bigger than I expected and quite clean. The cashier was very nice and I overheard her tell another customer that they don't take tips. Instead, all "tips" are donated to a charity, which is a nice touch. Lastly, my sandwich was neatly placed in a cardboard to-go box, which is so much better than a styrofoam. I wish every restaurant did this! Alas, this is where my compliments end. They made so many mistakes on my sub that it's unforgivable and have permanently lost a customer. I would like to note that I ordered my sub during the lunch rush, so some of the mistakes are undertstable. Below are the list of mistakes Firehouse subs made, beginning with the worst: 1. They forgot to include the steak in my "Steak & Cheese" sub!?! Just let that sink in... I didn't confirm this until I started to eat the second half for two reasons: (a) I was famished so I inhaled the first half. (b) The sandwich was filled with so so many veggies - pepperoncinis, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, and onions - to the point where I could taste nothing else. It was even difficult to taste the cheese! 2. There were so many veggies the sandwich became too messy for comfort. I had to wash my hand after eating this. 3. I asked for no mushrooms and lo & behold, there were mushrooms. 4. I asked for my sub on white bread and... you guessed it (or looked at my photo)! My sub came with wheat bread. Individually these mistakes (except for #1) are forgivable, but all together I cannot be convinced to come back. read more

This place was pretty good! I dropped by here to pick up a free sub that I got for my birthday. Go sign up for their loyalty program - free medium sub! I have never been here before and was excited to hear it open since I've passed by it in Vegas. I tried ordering online and mobile, but my order didn't go through, no biggie. I'll just order when I get there - it was the lunch rush, nooooo. I wouldn't recommend coming here during the lunch rush since it took around 20 minutes to get my sandwich from when I ordered. Most of the tables were taken too! Anyways, I got a medium Hook & Ladder on wheat. While waiting I helped myself to their sauce selection, definitely try their Datil Pepper Sauce! It was sweet and slightly spicy, but not too much. It complimented my sub well~ I didn't get to eat it until I drove back to work, but the hot sub held up well on the ~20 minute drive back. My experience here today was a giant "What the heck is even happening here moment". Online ordered placed in the parking lot. No one enters the building before I go in to get said order. Once I get in, not one of the 5 workers greats me or my existence. They all have AirPods and headphones in? Never seen that to be acceptable in a public food setting, strange. Also leaning against walls texting. After standing and staring, I am finally asked what I'm waiting for by an employee who acted completely miserable to be there. Food--No one can find my order. They guy who I spoke with second, who to his credit was the only nice person here, said my order may have been stolen? Uhhh... I'm the only person who has been here? So now I sit and wait for my order. This who process has taken over 30 minutes for one sandwich and not one person in the place. Finally called my name. I got my bag, no eye contact, no apology, No have a nice night. I said thank you, no response. Last thing I will add... Been waiting for them to open ever since the sign on the corner of Prater and McCarran came up. I have enjoyed the Carson City location a number of times during my lunch hour but living in Reno haven't had the opportunity until now. Came here with my brother for a dinner on a random weekday night. The place was for the most part empty and maybe had 6 other ppl sitting. I normally stick with the Meatball (sweet and spicy) or the BBQ Brisket but this time walking in I noticed that they had just released a new sandwich the Spicy Cajun Chicken and deuces to give that a chance while by brother stuck with the consistent Meatball. The service for how empty the place was wayyy to long (especially compared to The Carson location) but the Spicy Cajun Chicken made up for the wait and then some as it was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my with a small amount of Datil Pepper hot sauce. Try it if you can handle a lil spice well worth the change. Will absolutely continue to come back. read more

Susan helped me decide on my very first FH sub and she made it just as I asked which was AMAZING! She deserves a raise!

I ordered 3 sandwiches at 10$ each. Ordered online with more than an hour notice. One sandwich was fine. Our italian Sandwich had no meat at all on it. It was literally just lettuce, tomato, and dressing. The third sandwich (A build your own) had the wrong condiments, nothing I asked to be added, and things were in it that I requested be left off. I tried to call them to let them know about the order, and after 5 attempts with no one answering the phone I finally wrote to the customer service team. 35$ for 3 sandwiches and having more than half of the order being wrong is not acceptable. While I support what they do for the community, I don't feel I can support the lack of quality service any more. read more

Always looking for a good sandwich and if there is any support for firefighters, we want to be able to help whenever we can. I decided to create an online account and order through there. I ordered two sandwiches (see menu below). I received a confirmation email that my order went through and that the payment was accepted. However, when I arrived, my order was nowhere to be found. The manager found that my card did not go through, which contradicted the email. I used the same card and paid for the order (I could have typed it in wrong, but either the email or the manager made a mistake). Within 7-10 minutes my order was brought out to me. The sandwiches were filled with very fresh and tasty ingredients. Our only complaint would be for the "limp" pickle spears that were on the side. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a sub shop. With six people working it took 20 min to get our food..I had orderd a roast beef sandwich with mustard mayo and peppers. That is it.They got it wrong so I returned the sandwich..another 15 min go by and still no sandwich..finally after asking the extremely RUDE cashier about it..she asks the other employees if they've re made it yet...NO they have not !!! My husband and I LOVE Firehouse. The locations a little goofy since the building used to be a bank so the parking situation is odd but that's not a problem. The place is always clean and super bright. Fun decor throughout and the staff is always smiling and jolly. Never a long wait. A special huge shout out to Nikki. When we were there today it was crazy busy and the soda machine went down. Nikki has to deal with two very rude customers while she ran around delivering food and her smile. I would have punched those rude customers but Nikki handled it very well. Kudos! Now for the best part. The fooooood! Awesome sandwiches each and every time. You can get soup, chili or chips for the side instead of chips. If you haven't tried Firehouse yet you need to. My husband, daughter, and I decided to try here for lunch today. This was our first time coming to Firehouse Subs so we decided to order three different subs and share them so we could sample more of their menu. I ended up getting their special which was the medium cajun chicken sandwich my daughter decided on the medium meatball subs and my husband had the steak and mushroom sub. We also signed in on their app so we were able to get a free large drink with the purchase of a sub. The staff member was really helpful and told us what came on our sandwiches. The service was really quick and we were able to get our sandwiches delivered to our table in under 10 minutes. The Cajun chicken sub had really good spicy flavor with the Cajun seasoning and pepper jack cheese. The steak and mushroom was really good but the next time I get this sandwich I would like it a little more spicy and probably order it with pepper jack cheese. The meatball sub was cheesy, gooey, and delicious. For our drinks we decided to get there cherry limeade. We tried it both sparkling and original and we decided that we liked the sparkling better. While I wouldn't normally write a review for a sub shop, Firehouse Subs is the exception to the rule. After our third visit, the consistent service and delicious food it was time for a review. The staff are super helpful, very upbeat and ready to help. We typically order ahead for take away, our subs are always ready and delicious. An added bonus is a portion of each the sales goes to support firefighters and first responders. These subs are above the normal sandwich shops and well worth a try. read more

I first found Firehouse subs when I was living in Vegas and it quickly became a favorite place to pick up a quick meal. The Turkey Bacon Ranch is to die for but I have had friends that have ordered other things and have never gotten a bad review of any of their sandwiches. I love the hot sauce bar (open in non-covid times) and the Firehouse BBQ sauce is so good I had to buy some for my house. This location especially is great. I don't know where they find their employees but every time I go in there, the MOST friendly people I have ever met are there to meet me and take my order. Went to the firehouse subs The other day to enjoy a sandwich there. We were very impressed by the restaurant the cleanliness of it and the staff. The lady who waited on us was extremely nice and friendly and helpful I believe her name was Damon. We were going to take the food out and eat it at home but instead we enjoyed it at the restaurant.They were very accommodating to take our medium size sandwich cut it in half individually wrap it in containers and each got a pickle. If you're on your lunch break and in a hurry...consider another one! My husband, and I, decided to try the drivethru...BIG mistake!!! I knew it was going to take awhile, by the look on the girl's face who was waiting at the window with her head in her arm about to take a nap. It took what felt like an eternity for 2 sloppy med sandwiches. We sat there for like 35-45 mins! We watched people driving through El Pollo Loco next door super fast, in silent regret. :( I thought my husband was going to get out of the car and beat the guy's ass through the window, or worse, go inside and beat his ass. We love Firehouse! We eat it at least once a week and it is usually amazing. They have a great rewards program where we often get a free sandwich. They even gave me a free sandwich on my birthday. Last night was not the case. I tried to order through the app and it would not work. I kept getting an error message so I called the store to order. After I got home and went to eat my sandwich there were no hot peppers (this had happened before), no Italian dressing, no balsamic, and a pickle spear on the side (I had said no pickle spear).
