My mistake, I ordered again through Uber so I couldn't check my order. The chicken burritos are buy one get one and so are the chicken tacos. We ordered both. I asked for 6 salsas, 2 for each burrito and 1 for each taco. We ended up with only 1 half empty because it leaked in the bag. The chicken was extremely dry and had we got the sauce we asked for it would have helped. If you ask for no onions you also don't get tomato or cilantro. I absolutely hate giving 1 stars to businesses, but I have to communicate this for anyone with an allergen: REVIEW YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! Rivas has always been a good place to order food from, I think they genuinely are a good to-go Mexican option... but they've done this to me twice at 2 different locations... once at pyramid and once now here. I enjoy the food, which is why I've ordered from them, 4 times, I tried it again only to be disappointed... I don't think I'll order from them again. I ordered Carnitas fries, and an al pastor taco. I communicated "no avocado or guac on anything please as I'm allergic to avocado"... fortunately for me, I've been doing allergy training, otherwise I could have died from this allergen if it were as bad as it was over a year ago. It's not fair, nor is it right to the business to communicate this to the community through Yelp, but when you tell a person taking your order that you have a food allergen, and the allergen is in your food!? Then you also leave a tip when you're getting your take out order, and then have them confirm that there's no avocado and just trusting your food.... But they put it in the direct middle of the dish.... So you eat around it and find it in there.... Simply disappointing and just can't trust this business after this experience. It's just a bad look and I've uploaded the picture as proof, but this is just disappointing. I ate the food, so I won't ask for a refund, but I'm just glad that my allergen is better and nothing bad came of this. Please be considerate to your clients, you're growing in Reno/Sparks and I just feel like your staff didn't care to listen to someone who communicated an allergen to them. 8/13/2023 So glad to be passing by and there's a drive thru! Big menu and lots of choices.. Went with the Sunday special- cheese enchilada, rice and beans.. Enchilada was good with sauce and tasty beans.. rice was moist but not too much seasoning.. Also a steak burrito-good steak and not chewy..decent size for the price.. We stayed at Western Village and after a concert at the Nugget last night we were starving. It was late and not a lot of places open. Searched Yelp and this newer spot popped up. Oh my goodness- it was SO good!! We opted to do the drive thru and take it back to the hotel less than 5 min drive away. He got the steak burrito which he ate before I could get a picture. He said it was fantastic! I got the pastor quesadilla, which I rarely ever order - my go to item are street tacos, but wow, it was filled with delicious pastor and yummy cheese. It was MASSIVE! Cruising the city and had to try Rivas Real Mexican Grill. Located in a former Wienerschitzle, Rivas was pleasantly surprised with a great experience. Rivas has a very diverse menu with everything you can think of; tacos, burritos, menudo, posole etc. Our group tried several item but their signature dish is their steak fries. For those who are found of nachos, Rivas raise the bar with their version of traditional nachos, but with hot fries instead of chips. Prices were very reasonable and generous portions. Seriously, the best carne asada fries ever!!! Every time I have ordered they've been consistent and delicious!

The new kid in the neighborhood has excellent food and a twenty-four hour drive thru. The carne asada fries were absolutely loaded with toppings, but you definitely need to give them a stir. We also ordered a pastor torta. The meat was tender The sandwich was so flavorful, but the bread got sogging. Lastly, the California burrito. It was also quite tasty, but not as good as the other items. Overall, they are quite good. The drive-thru time was reasonable for actually making food. I was put off by the question or cash or card. In 2023, who carries cash. I am assuming the menu prices are the prices, and that I wasn't charged more for using my card, but no receipt was given to verify that. Maybe a discount is given if you pay cash. The next time we visit, we will be going in to check out the interior and salsas. read more

I'm excited to discover Rivas has opened a new location in the old Weinerschnitzel location. It's LIKE NEW inside and out. The dining room is great. They even have a self serve salsa bar. I went through the drive through which is easily accessible from both the McCarran and Lincoln driveways. The trick is remembering the only dining room ENTRANCE appears to be fronting on McCarran. Park accordingly. We weren't very hungry. Just wanted a snack to take over to Sparks Marina, to give us something to munch on. I only ordered a bean and cheese burrito cut in Half. (:-) But they have a good menu of plates as well as a great variety of big delicious burritos. The MILD GREEN SALSA has a delicious flavor. I'm going into the dining room next time so I can have unfettered access to it. I'm terrified to go near the red one that came in our ToGo bag. But I bet it's great for spicy hot stuff lovers because their flavors here are good. All the burritos are made on the same size tortilla so the price is based on ingredients, not size. They are good sized. I'm happy to have this option pop up in this location. Unfortunately I do not see huevos rancheros on the menu. That's my husbands favorite meal. But I'll drag him along to share bean burritos and veggie burritos with me! The green salsa is creamy as if it might have tomatillo AND avocado? It's really flavorful. And MILD! We usually go to the Pyramid location. Food has always been very good there. We thought we'd try the MCarran location in Sparks. Tremendously disappointed! The chicken tacos were TINY for the price, and the chicken was BLAND! Basically, just cooked chicken and rice made with a flour tortilla. HOSPITAL FOOD BLAND! Well most likely NEVER eat here again. Visited Rivas for lunch with my husband. I was on my lunch time and husband was craving Mexican food. We opted for visiting Rivas as it was nearby and it's also a new food chain in Reno, we wanted to check it out. The restaurant is your normal Mexican restaurant very casual. It was pretty busy during lunch hours which was surprising. The staff is super friendly and efficient. The reason for my 2 stars is for the food. If you are wanting authentic Mexican food this is not your place. Food is very Americanized. I ordered a chicken salad and well the chicken looked like it had freezer burn. No color to the chicken and super dry. The greens looked like they were out of a salad bag nothing special. The ranch tasted like the hidden valley ranch. I did not like it one bit. No flavor. My husband ordered a fish fillet plate and was served super dry fish and a different type of fried fish than what was displayed in the menu. They also serve your food in a foam dish. We also paid $35 for both of these plates and a pineapple juice. Super overpriced. I unfortunately will not be back. read more

We stopped in with our four kids after a day of adventuring in Nevada. {Specifically Marzen House Museum and Lovelock Cave. Incredible and about an hour and a half from here! ;)} We had bean and cheese burritos, a cheese quesadilla, plain nachos (had to ask them to melt the cheese), a chimichanga, and the steak fries (no pico). The fries are deceiving because under what you can see is sour cream, guacamole, and beans. Those are a little separated and not layered, so definitely "stir."
