    BBQ Cuban
    Robert A.

Stopped in for lunch and was greeted as soon as I walked in. Went with the BBQ Cuban. Place was empty but slowly started filling up. Sandwich came out fairly quickly and tasted great. I thought it was a little pricey compared to other sandwich places but the quality and taste made it worth while.

Note: The low rating was not for the food. We ordered the new (at the time) pepperoni pizza meatball sub. It was so good - in fact, I think I got it again the next week because I craved it afterwards. And maybe one more time before they took it away. I hope they keep it on their menu. It had a buttery, garlic bread spread underneath the meatballs and pepperoni with melted cheese. So I placed a Rapid Rescue To Go order ahead of time because we had somewhere to be and obviously that's why that service is there. I arrive at this location about 15 minutes after I placed the order and make my way into the store to pick up my food. I look on the very empty shelf where the to-go food should be and don't see my order. I inquire with the worker and he said my order would be out soon. I wait another 20 min or so and ask about it again. Still isn't ready, but I notice that there are customers walking in and placing an order for dine in and they receive their food before I do. An order I had placed over 30-40 minutes now. Eventually I finally receive my food, but so much for the "Rapid" To Go system they had.

Ordered the steak and cheese sub and some of there soup. The sub was decently good but I didn't care for their soup at all. Was so hot burnt my tongue. And just the taste of the soup wasn't that good either. But the sun was pretty good. I honestly probably would not come back unless hanging out with a buddy and they wanted this. Have had way better steak and cheese subs, but again it was decently good.

I've had Firehose Subs as a catered order when I worked in Sterling. That was many years ago. Today, I thought to visit this one in Warrenton. I walked in to a really large, open area. Very clean with a great mural of a Warrenton Fire Engine. Also other firehouse decor such as fire helmets and coats. Felt cozy in the large room. Nice menu boards and they also had paper menus available. A very nice teenager took my order. Very smiley and polite. I took my sub to go even though there is plenty indoor seating available as well a cute bit of outside seating. When I opened my sub container I couldn't help but notice the sub was fully packed with veggies. It was good. It was well toasted and cheese melted. Really, tho, I like a good cold veggie sub better. I do wish they had green/red bell peppers and cucumbers, a cold slice of provolone. Just a preference I wish was available. *check out their 100% Health score. *Also good to have some proceeds go to local firehouse and schools, etc. Pretty neat place.

We came to check this place out for lunch, and we ordered: +the Jones Beach sandwich - described as a vegetarian option, this sandwich had eggplant, provolone, roasted tomatoes, red peppers, pesto, and a red pepper-feta spread; the bread used were extremely stale and was not the focaccia bread as it was then stated on their menu; at first, we thought it was toasted, but it was not; also, the sandwich was missing ingredients, such as the roasted tomatoes (but the menu seemed to be updated since then) + the cheesesteak cigars - came with a horseradish dipping sauce; these were not heated all the way through and came out lukewarm/cold +a pizza with half mushrooms and half cheese - we love stinky and strong cheeses, but this had a very unpleasant odor to it that we were unable to eat it We did ask for a to-go box, which took some time to receive; the staff didn't seem to care nor interested in how everything was; when we were leaving, no one was available at the front. On the other hand, the owners seem to really care about their customers' experience and feedback, and we appreciated this - not sure if we'll ever be in the area again to give them another try. Street parking can be found in the area. +inattentive and disinterested staff +inaccurate menu descriptions on food items +lukewarm/cold orders +avoid the flatbreads/pizzas +parking in the area

Great classic diner vibe. First and foremost the service was incredible. Kendra was our server. She was very attentive and super friendly. She constantly checked in on us and was just a delight. We went right for food and skipped apps and drinks. Ordered the steak salad (medium rare) that was perfectly cooked. The dressing was tasty too. Also ordered the chicken club which came with fries. The fries were good. The sandwich was really tasty! Chicken seasoned to perfection and with the bacon, avocado, and cheese it was the perfect balance of flavors working together. The bread was buttery and toasted. Delicious. We were traveling and stopped here. There is a 6% county tax on tour tab called 'restaurant tax' which is in addition to the other taxes. Just FYI. Overall a great place to grab some amazing food with pretty fabulous service. Would go again!

Young, tall gentleman) was outstanding. The food...WOW. I was not expecting it to be that delicious. Salmon cooked perfectly. There was nothing left of the chowder when we finished. The grits were made spot on perfect. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Their menu was quite large, with hot dogs, cold subs, hot sandwiches, and paninis listed. They also feature a couple soups daily. When we went, they had a loaded baked potato soup and a lobster bisque. The young girl working the front was very happy and helpful and gave some good suggestions too. The place is quaint, with several tables and lots of historic signs on the walls. We started with their baked potato soup - The overall flavor was nice. But the potatoes in it were rubbery, like they used the wrong type of potato or maybe over-cooked it. Also, the soup was just warm, far from being served hot. Next up were the sandwiches - I chose the BBQ chicken sandwich, which had thinly sliced chicken breast on it, along with BBQ sauce, mayo, and onions. The sandwich was pressed, like a panini and was pretty good. I liked the smokiness of the BBQ sauce. I also got a bottle of their homemade root beer and it was pretty good. They serve Route 11 potato chips, which are my favs! So, I had to pick up a bag of Mama Zuma for later - those things are spicey, hot, and tasty! Overall, it's a nice spot, I can see them being a popular lunch spot downtown.
