This location is always clean. Every time we go here there is always an employee wiping down tables and the drink area. On top of that, they have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine with sooooooo many drink choices!! Now onto the subs. They don't have a huge menu, but the food they do offer has a ton of flavor and their prices aren't bad. This time we got two medium subs and split them. The subs were the pepperoni meatball and the hook and ladder. The pepperoni meatball marina sauce is so good - the sub has a ton of flavor. This is probably one of my favorite subs. The hook & ladder is good as well, but I seem to be partial to meatball subs. Make sure you get the app if you eat at Firehouse. We went to this location on 07/09/26 with our subs we ordered a large fry for $4.99 so we could share it . I couldn't believe my eyes when the young guys working behind the counter served us our meal . I asked if that was the large fry because it definitely was more like maybe a small fry ! They replied our fries are served by weight . I will never be back to Firehouse subs , too many other better options . Ok, this is the second time in a week that I have to post about a really bad experience I have had with a restaurant. I sent my husband to Firehouse to get some soup, as I was not feeling well, he wanted a sandwich, he told me as soon as he walked in he was treated like a thorn in their side, they were so put out with the order, that they barely filled the cups of the containers, actually the Mac and cheese was 1/2 full, and cost 6.50, he didn't notice because they gave him such a hard time . I really do not have too much to say here. I was not impressed with the sub I ordered/received. I ordered the Engineer sub, and the cashier originally took my order as the New York Steamer; I am not sure how the two sound similar, but it was caught before I paid and them making the order. The Engineer is a smoked turkey breast sub with Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and deli mustard. I ordered mine large, with no mayo. I did not order anything else except for the one sub. The wait time was about eight minutes. It deceived me by making me think I had ordered what was going to be the best sub ever. Good subs, moderate pricing, employees somewhat rude over phone and where's my damn pickle!?! As far as mainstream sub places in the area, Firehouse is pretty good, however on multiple occasions now when calling to place an order, the employee interrupts me with laughter. Now, I don't think that I'm a stick in the mud, but that really bothered me for some reason.. not so much the first time, but definitely the next time it did (which happened to be the very next time that I ordered from Firehouse). To add insult to injury, once the employee finished finding whatever it was funny enough so that she could finish taking my order, she asked if I wanted a pickle after each of the two subs that I ordered. I replied in the affirmative, because who doesn't like a good pickle, even if it does come in an unsealed sandwich bag like your mom sent you to school with in Elementary. Anywho, once I arrived home after picking up said subs, I was aghast to find that my pickles were nowhere to be found!! I really wanted to call back and let them know about the issue, but I'd prefer to not be laughed at again, so I chose to suck it up (well, maybe not, considering that I'm complaining here about it). Delicious splurge. We really enjoy the brisket, and usually as order it. The club and meatball subs are also flavorful. I would normally rate this establishment five stars, but the owner decided to now up charge the chopped pickles placed on the sandwich that were normally part of the free toppings. The cashier was very nice about it and informed us of the change. I'm not sure if other Firehouses made the same change, but if not, I'm disappointed. They still have other complimentary toppings, so I opted for the olives, cucumbers, and jalapeños. My daughter still got the extra pickles, but found less meat on her sub. They seem to give you less brisket than when they first opened. This restaurant is pricier than most equivalent sub shops, and I've seen other locations come and go. Very slow lunch service today at 12:30, but what disappointed me most was the restaurant not enforcing its posted covid 19 mask policy; on the front door and at the register it is posted that by law, customers entering the restaurant must wear a mask. Two guys wandered in and up to the register without masks, and were allowed to remain in the restaurant for several minutes; I heard the employee say something about it being the government's policy, but he seemed to kind of shrug his shoulders and allowed the customers to continue to be served without a mask. It's a bad look when you're not going to enforce the law/your own signage to protect your other paying customers from a deadly pandemic. The New York steamer was good though. read more

First time ever at a Firehouse Subs today! They have a freebie birthday deal so I selected this location enroute from a couple of places and decided to try their Italian sub on whole wheat. Asked for special prep no ham, just Genoa and the staff were quite accommodating. I went with the whole enchilada of toppings to get an idea of what they typically serve. They are quite friendly and some of the staff has been on site since the place opened three years ago. So we just each had a 1/2 medium Italian #4 sub modified with Genoa salami, hold the Virginia Ham, I really liked it. At the shop, I asked how they differ from the Subway chain, the employees said the meat to veg ratio is slightly higher, I would agree. They messed the whole Order up and I was on lunch. I went to the store and was told by the manager that I had to get my money back from grub hub. All I wanted was a stupid sandwich. Stopped in and grabbed a "Hero" sub. My girlfriend got the turkey and both of us agree they are good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pros: Great selection of hot sauces, including some real bona fide ones that will hurt you. Clean place, brightly lit, cool decor. Cons: Absolutely the worst cheese steak sub I've ever had. Eating it was like eating shredded shoe leather. Non-existent cheese and one of the spongiest, soggy buns I've ever encountered in a sub shop. I should have bought some Great Value microwave cheese steaks subs from Walmart for dinner. In fact, the buns alone turned me off from every wanting to try any other sub from this place regardless of the quality of the other offerings. Good food but the fact the Waterford location absolutely did not follow the new guidelines for covid-19. Despite all the signs posted on the door and counter stating by law you must wear a mask or do curbside pickup if you don't have one they allowed 2 girls to walk in with no masks and then allowed them to place an order and stay in the building and then out of the 3 employees one had her mask under her nose the other under her chin and 1 actually had it on correctly. If this is the way they will be operating their restaurant then unfortunately we will not be back. read more

AMAZING FOOD & SERVICE! This restaurant is very clean and beautiful decor throughout - the interior looks like the inside of a firehouse, some of the decor was apparently donated by the local firefighters. You are greeted by a very friendly staff as soon as you walk in the door! A nice patio outdoors if you prefer to enjoy the nice summer weather. The sandwiches are incredible with the best quality meat, I highly recommend the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket or the steak & cheese. The soda machine dispenses over 120 Coca-Cola products! This is a fun place for kids, and they even offer a kid-friendly menu. The kids are chowing down on their grilled cheese wearing plastic red fire helmets. I keep on going back and forth between 2 stars and 3 stars. The sub was OK, but then again it just wasn't really good at all. I had no idea what to expect, but when I see and hear the name "Firehouse" subs, i think about flames and crispiness and intensity. Thing is, you won't experience any flames here and all that's toasted is the bread. This whole steam-thing just doesn't sit right with me. I get it what the intent is, but it truly misses the mark. It creates this issue where you need to balance tenderness and juiciness versus sogginess and blandness. I would much prefer to have a cold sub. I had the New York Steamer with corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing. In my case, the flavors did not open up at all.
