I had lots of substitutions and additions for the subs and they were super patient and made sure the order was accurate, which I so appreciate! Not so good, Jersey Mike. I am a bake my sub kind-of-girl. No oven?! Not going to win high points with me. Menu is easy to follow. Just subs. In fact, this should be the name of the place. Just Subs. Shouldn't have too many people confused with this limited selection. Quality of ingredients looks better than most places. No pre-slicing here. Meats and cheeses appear sliced to order. Prices are definitely higher. Kind of a skimpy sub for the price. My sub tasted ok. Description didn't match the product. I didn't have any issues with the staff. Very courteous and helpful. Truthfully, if every other place near me did not look like a mob scene, I doubt if I would have stopped here. I think the only Jersey I will visit next ,will be at the seashore. read more

This Jersey Mike's is like most with nothing really that stands out (this isn't a bad thing). But reviewing with only 3 generous stars in hopes that a manager reads it. The sandwiches here are made very well... but first things first... the flys. I've been here more than a handful of times and there are at least 5 to 10 flys abuzz at all times. This includes on some of the food. I would suggest trying to rid yourselves of these "Customers". But the big doozy here is the staff. Sometimes they are great. But like today it was bad... really bad. There was a line of 5 of us (not in a group) that waited there with absolutely no one behind the counter. We all could hear people talking and laughing in the back and that's when the first customer in line knocked on the "Employees Only" door. Took about a minute to get a response and then FOUR employees nonchalantly walk out. I understand 1 or 2 but 4 all at once?! I also understand finding good help isn't the easiest these days but having customers walk out because there is simply no one there (without even a "Back in 5" sign) is kind of ridiculous. Please note this isn't the first time this has happened. Just that this specific time it was over just a minute/minutes. Hope this gets addressed at some point as most here in Pittsburgh love to support local businesses. I have never been more uncomfortable ordering a sandwich than here. I stopped in on a Saturday in May around 7:00, and the staff all just stared at me like I didn't belong. I was the only customer in the place, and I guess that should have been a sign to turn around and leave. The girl who took my order never made eye contact, and was tapping on her phone as much as the screen to enter my order. I didn't catch it until I looked at my receipt the next day, but she also entered her own (or a friend's) membership number to get points for my purchase. Classy. The Italian sub was typical of Jersey Mike's, which is not a high bar, but the place was not very clean. The table was sticky, and the drinks area was gross. All while at least four employees stood around looking at their phones. I hope they can turn things around, but I will not be back. read more

The hero was good not the best that I have had but ok. The service was fast and friendly and the place was clean. I would probably go back and try another style sandwich. Last night we ordered 2 ultimate hoagies. This the second time in a row that the wrong food was delivered. Instead, we were sent two ham and cheese subs. They were made with 2 ultra thin slices of cheese and Virigina ham which is a cheaper cut of ham. I'm done! I would not order from them again even if it was free. Literally, since it just came out the oven. They let it cool for a bit. I had NO problem waiting for fresh bread!! They give a respectable amount of lunch meat. Then you top it how you wish. I got tomatoes, since they where thinly cut. Extra extra lettuce. Plus, a light amount of mayo, salt, pepper, oregano and Italian dressing. We usually get the honey mustard but they were out!! I go here from time-to-time, and today realized that I discount it unnecessarily. The staff is friendly and unbelievably accommodating. You can tell it's a family-owned and run location. Service is 5 stars. The subs are very good. In particular, I had the roast beef today- they cut the meat fresh, right in front of you and it's incredibly tender. The kids had turkey subs- nothing to write home about but fresh bread and made with care. While it's not the most efficient place, and I don't love the cheesesteaks, it's overall really good/a really good value. Lunch for a family of 5 for about $40. Everyone left happy. Again- I'll emphasize that the service is exceptional, friendly, and attentive. If you're on McKnight, a very good place to stop. read more

Just had an issue one time - they took a while and they didn't follow order directions, but the quality of the food was still great. Bread is always fresh, they carve and grill the meat for their subs in house. They are WAY better than subway and Jimmy Johns. They also have delicious brownies and cookies. Go give them a try! Deli meat is cut fresh so you'd think it would be juicy and taste fresh - yet I always find it to taste gritty and lack much flavor. Bacon even doesn't taste like anything. This location definitely didn't impress. There was one person in front of us waiting for their sub, but the girls at the counter just kind of stared at us for a while before asking what we wanted. We ordered, waited forever for our sandwiches to be made, and paid. Holy cow, are these some expensive sandwiches! Almost $20 for two and drinks, and one was veggie. This is one of those places that relentlessly tries to up-sell you a bottle of water if you order water as a beverage, which annoys me. (I'm not totally cheap, but Pittsburgh's finest is A-OK with me, thanks! BPA-free and better for the environment. Okay--and free!) My sandwich was TOTALLY DRENCHED in oil. Like, almost inedible. By the time I unwrapped it at the table it was basically a pile of lettuce and goo. My husband says his was okay (he custom-ordered, and didn't get it "Mike's Way" like I did), but not as good as DiBella's or even Subway.
