Went here on Veterans Day to catch up with a friend. I believe this is my second time getting Korean AYCE BBQ. The rarity it is for me to come to Silver Spring but it was worth it. I wasn't a fan of the wait but we were eventually seated. It was kinda dark in the restaurant, gave off blue light vibes. We ordered the option A (it was 24.99 or 29.99, can't recall) 90 minutes lunch special & partook in the all day 50% off Happy Hour for drinks. I must say I was highly impressed with the food and the drinks. We also got the Fall season themed drinks (also 1/2 off for Happy Hour) & they were FANTASTIC. Of course I had to get the Pumpkin Spice expresso. I would definitely come back again and get full as a tick again. I couldn't tell you the distance from the Silver Spring Metro because I drove.

Wenthere during a recent visit to see friends. I'll give it 4 stars. If you're expecting a traditional authentic Korean BBQ, this is probably not the place for you. Firepan is more of a modern spin on KBBQ. We got the all you can eat, which is a great deal. You can pick any of the meats and you get. I would recommend the soy and spicy marinated meats. The kimchi is ok, but you won't get the 8 or so banchands that you would at other places. Our server was excellent and I don't remember her name. She was attentive and gave us a rundown of what to expect. She brought most things promptly but it was a busy night. Parking maybe challenging but you can also take the metro. All in all, I'd probably go back again. But my KBBQ pocket is only half full.

Of course as a first timer I was excited to see the hype. It's definitely hyped sadly I couldn't enjoy my entire experience because it was super busy being Valentines Day evening but even with that the server was forgetful, and wasn't really attentive to the table. We ordered the steak & chicken , also sushi rolls the sushi 10/10 !! Definitely worth a try and the K-Steak was delicious very tasty. The only issue was the Chicken it wasn't flavorful and was very easy to burn on the grill. I have to return for a better experience because it wasn't bad just busy and I understand crazy nights happen

We had a fun experience at Firepan. I thought mostly everything we had was good, including the strawberry soju and old-fashioned. The bar looked nice and I'd stop in for just a drink. Salad and kimchi were delicious. We all liked our meats. I recommend skipping the Korean fried chicken. I thought it was going to be Bonchon-style, but it was very lackluster and not even close. Server was friendly, though inattentive. We definitely had trouble flagging her and getting more water, etc. It also took forever for the check to come. We went early enough so there was not a wait, but I definitely recommend reservations. I'd return if wanting KBBQ and not wanting to drive to Rockville.

Went to Firepan for a nice weeknight dinner. The restaurant was mostly empty and quiet but more people started to come in as the evening got later. We ordered the Option A which is All-You-Can-Eat and included different cuts of chicken, pork, and beef. Our server was very attentive and our meats came out quickly. While it's not the best KBBQ in the area you get a lot of value for what you are paying. I would put it on the same level as Iron Age for KBBQ in the MD suburbs.

Both were good with mild flavors. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was like a home. It looked kind of old and outdated and I think the restaurant needs an upgrade. They do have a small lot right next to the restaurant. We parked at a nearby public parking and walked. We ordered a little of everything. Gram Fritters- delicious and loved the dipping sauce Ginger salad - I was a little disappointed with this dish. I remembered it being more ginger. Pork Belly - omg. So tender. If you like pork belly, this is a must but pork belly is not for everyone. Chicken and Hot peppers- my partner absolutely loved this. We also ordered the Shweji - dessert to go. I couldn't stop eating it and I didn't share. Plenty of leftovers for a couple of days. Check them out. It is worth it.

The decor was lovely and the ambiance represented an upscale experience in my opinion. They even offered free champagne and it was good! My friend and I tried: the Sticky Ribs Suya, Jerk-Braised Short Ribs with Curry Pea Risotto, Oxtail Mac & Cheese, and the Suya-Spiced Lamb Chops. All of the food was absolutely delicious, my only gripe would be that the lamb chops didn't come with enough green beans. The "Up All Night" (their version of an espresso martini) was also pretty good. Next time, I'd opt to get a traditional espresso martini though. Lastly, the service was outstanding. Our waitress was very kind, attentive, and timely. We even left her an extra tip. If I had to make a suggestion, the big ape could be moved elsewhere. It really does take up too much space.

The menu has shrunk significantly and what's left doesn't justify the price point. $20 for deviled eggs? And nearly everything is paired with grits, which is interesting for a restaurant billing itself as African and Asian fusion. I brought a Nigerian friend along and we were both equally confused by that creative direction. Safe to say grits aren't exactly a staple. We were told about off-menu options tomahawk, ribeye (out of stock), and branzino. We went with the branzino and a potato hash that turned out to be exactly what it sounds like: cut up potatoes and what tasted like powdered eggs straight from a hotel breakfast buffet. The branzino needed salt, pepper AND hot sauce to get there, that's not a seasoning preference.. The ambience and decor remain the highlight genuinely a beautiful space. But a pretty room can only carry so much. I wanted to love this place. I really did. But I don't think a third visit is in the cards.

None of us were from this area, and we intended to go to the Mayflower Chinese Restaurant, based on Yelp reviews. However, once we walked in the door, it was apparent this place was focused on carryout, and there was no way we were staying to eat in their dingy entrance area. We walked next door to the Meleket Ethiopian restaurant. However, the place was deserted, and we didn't stay there either. We tried the Lime & Cilantro, the next place down, but it was packed and couldn't handle our group. So, we skipped past the verernary clinic and went to Spring Garden. And, what a great choice that was. They offer a huge menu of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese meals. Everything is reasonably priced. Once we got our food, we were impressed with the quality and portion sizes. And, through it all, the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered Hot and Sour soup (my bellwether for Chinese restaurants) and beef chow fun. The soup was flavorful without being overpowering, and the chow fun was delicious too. I liked everything so much that I ordered another soup and Thai Basil with Chicken to go, and that's been my lunch for the past couple of days. Don't be put off by the seediness of its location. I ordered a Wagyu Brisket sandwich with Brisket beans and mac n cheese as the sides. I also ordered 1/2 pound of spare ribs. My son ordered a brisket sandwich, barbecue chicken, corn bread, coleslaw. Brisket and ribs super tender and barbecue sauce was good, but I'm from Kansas and Kansas City barbecue spots have better sauce Their sauce was a little too thin and ran off the meat. Everything was smoked to perfection except for the chicken. I heard that the chicken was kind of flavorless and a little dry. I didn't have any, but my son, his wife and kids did and so that was something that we wouldn't order again. Very nice and pleasant employees and decent prices although the sides were too small of portions.
