Great quality fish at a good price point. We sat at the bar and received good service. Our server was very attentive and checked in on us many times while we took forever to decide what we wanted. Seems like they need more staff though, it looked like the servers were also greeting and bartending. We ordered two items from the sushi bar section of the menu: Sashimi dinner - $38 - started with a mild miso soup then came a beautiful presentation of 5 types of thick cut sashimi (3 pieces each) accompanied by a bowl of rice, wasabi, and ginger Tuna Flight - $43 - Also started with a mild miso soup the came a sushi plate with 2 pieces each of thick cut tuna nigiri (akami, chu-toro, & o-toro) and a spicy tuna roll packed with tuna and a thin layer of rice (6 pieces) The sushi prices were really reasonable for the quality and amount of fish you get. It's also conveniently located above the mall food court. A great higher scale option if you're not feeling food court food. It's beautifully decorated and very IG-worthy. I came to Shiki Fushion on a Friday evening with my family for dinner. We arrived around 530pm, it was not super busy and we were seated right away. The restaurant is located next to the movie theater inside Montgomery Mall. The happy hour has alot of options that are priced slightly lower than normal. Ordered a bunch of items to share with my husband and kids: - Chicken Yakitori - Delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. So good we ordered another plate! - Curry Puff - Freshly made and filled with deliciousness. This was my favorite item that we ordered. - Crispy Spicy - Did not love it or hate it, felt like the sauce ratio was off.... a little less sauce would have been better. - Fried Shumai - Crispy, crunchy shell with warm shrimp filling, the kids loved these. The other menu items were good, quality ingredients and cooked fresh. Standard items usually on most Japanese restaurants' menus: Seaweed Salad, Miso Soup, Salmon Avocado Roll, California Roll & Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll. The staff were welcoming, checked on us multiple times throughout our meal and even tried to chat with my kids. Interiors are beautiful and the wait staff were friendly. Ranked from our favorite to least favorite: yellowtail scallion roll $7, shiki thai apps platter $20, and tom yum seafood noodle soup $20. Yellow tail roll was fresh and made to order, really good. From the Thai apps platter, our favorites were the chicken satay (altho my other half said sauce was on the sweeter side for him), and the money pouch. The money pouch was VERY gingery, which I like and was good with the sweet and sour sauce. The curry puff was good but we've had better ones. Least favorite was the tom yum noodle soup because it was very bland, and did not have the acidic kick I'd normally look for. The seafood was also very fishy. I was really hoping to love this place, but it fell short for me. The sushi menu definitely played it safe. There were very regular rolls available, and there were just a few fusion dishes. I was hoping for a pad Thai or pad see ew fusion dish but just regular Thai was available. The kimchi udon was definitely the star of the show. I had the crab fried rice. It was decent but average at best, with very little flavor. For protein options, they didn't have any tofu for the pad Thai, and I wasn't able to substitute the crab meat from the crab fried rice. The ambiance and service were nice. Was pretty empty for early in the week but a good deal for happy hour for appetizers and drinks. However the food lacked flavor. Ordered the hh veg gyoza, salmon roll, and crispy spicy which were ok since we were hungry. I ordered the chicken hibachi (the menu was very extensive went for something simple) and ask for a spice level but the chef couldn't do that but provided chili oil. I don't know of a Thai restaurant that didn't provide various spice levels. The hibachi rice was very wet almost and the chicken tasted very sweet and salted and vegetables seemed cooked in butter or a lot of oil...hard pass. I went with high hopes, but the food was very mediocre and two items we wanted to order were unavailable (blue point oysters and lime fish). The creamy kimchi udon tasted nothing like kimchi, more like parmesan with seafood which is not a good combo. Tom yum soup tasted like it came from a jar. We visited Shiki Fusion during their soft opening. There are high expectations for this restaurant. The servers were very friendly and helpful. And I think the sushi was good - I got the salmon flight, 2 pieces of king salmon, 2 pieces of aburi salmon, 2 pieces of regular salmon, and a spicy salmon roll. It's as good as any you might find on the Pike. I also tried the Crab Meat Tom Yum Lava Bowl - maybe my expectations were high, but it didn't deliver as I'd expected. Shiki Fusion has an opportunity to establish themselves as a go-to location in Montgomery Mall, but they're going to have to step it up if they want to stick around. read more

We visited Shiki Fusion for happy hour a couple of weeks ago, and my first reaction was "Wow!" The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced--not overloaded with rice. Honestly, it was some of the best sushi I've ever had, and I've been to quite a few sushi restaurants! Beyond sushi, we enjoyed delicious shrimp, fish, and noodle dishes. Everything tasted authentic and was full of flavor. The happy-hour prices made it a true bargain. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed so much wonderful sushi in one sitting! Tucked upstairs near the movie theater at Montgomery Mall, this place is a hidden treasure. Tried this newest addition at the Westfield Montgomery Mall on a Saturday evening. 5 star for atmosphere and service. 5 stars for majority of dishes we tried except one. We had sashimi, sushi rolls, Thai fusion dishes, cocktails and mocktails. The sashimi and rolls were excellent in freshness. Highly recommend the Creamy kimchi udon and the wagyu fried rice. The crabmeat tom yum lava bowl had a good amount of crab meat but the tom yum sauce was too thick and sweet that it detracted from the fluffy egg and crab meat. This dish is a bit of a letdown. Our server is Sasa and she is extremely helpful and energetic. Japanese food is always more expensive so you need to take that into consideration. But this is certainly a great option with plenty of parking and the mall offers a place to stroll before and after a meal. Great for family and kid friendly. Tables are well spaced so conversations felt east and private. read more

First visit - Ordering was simple and fast on their tablet. A server is always there if needed. We had: Rock shrimp: excellent flavor, size and batter. Spider roll, shrimp tempura roll were also excellent. The tuna sashimi was excellent and must have been Grade 1/premium. The beef teriyaki was very good. The default is well done. Next time I will ask for medium. Our service "Ling" was great! She came around just enough and wasn't intruding. The booths are comfortable and spaced apart great! So this placed opened for a month without me knowing it. It's supposedly owned by Nan Xiang downstairs, so there's some quality assurance. Thursday night, google reservation says nothing before 8PM, a phone call got me reservation as they were not busy. The place is very nice, comfortable and relaxing, but a bit empty as it just started. Decor definitely one of the nicer places I've been to locally. Service is excellent. Customers can order from computer, or for old timers like me, paper menu. Menu is a mix of Japanese and Thai, with a Chinese flare. The prices are on the higher side for folks like me who detest the post-pandemic price hikes but it's on par with the rest of the places around. The miso soup is delicate and delicious and I had to order a second one. The Thai is very flavorful and done nicely. For someone who is regular to Sister Thai, this is a notch above. The sashimi is fresh, thick cuts (def. beat the Japanese places around) and presented very well. Being a sushi die hard, I like my original flavor but it's slightly flavored like Nakazawa which gave it a bit of decoration also. Wasabi was fresh. The rock shrimp was large, juicy, crunchy and flavorful. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant and fine dining experience that I had checking out the newly opened places around the area. Being one of those who can tell whether a restaurant will survive or not, my thought is "please live and keep going." This is a fine place but suffers lack of marketing and a loser location out of the way in the mall. It's a gem! You gotta check it out. I think over time if they can keep up the quality, they will get enough higher end diners who appreciate the upscale and comforting experience with good food. Mixed feelings. Service was mixed. We had two servers. One was just ok the other was great. When we sat down two people one menu? Then they bring an ipad. Well the Ipad doesn't tell you anything about the actual dish needed the menu for the descriptions. I don't mind ordering on the ipad at all this needs to be better thought out. We only ordered Sushi so can not comment on any of the other food. Salmon avacado roll great lots of salmon & avacado ratio to rice nice. Dragon roll no very little eel mostly cucumber would not order again, and rice, soy paper roll I forgot the name speciality roll very good. The server brought the bill with a 22% tip already selected. Sorry, but that's a no from me. I probably would have left a 20% tip anyway, but there were some service issues. No one explained why we only had one menu or how we were supposed to figure out what some of the menu items actually were. And the two server confusion was odd who were we tipping? What also bothered me was that the suggested tip was calculated on the total bill, including tax. Maybe that doesn't bother some people, but it does bother me. In most cases, when a server preselects a tip amount, it's usually 20%, and I'm generally fine with that. But 22% on top of a less-than-clear dining experience and calculated on the post-tax total felt excessive. I know times are hard and I would try them again. read more

Heading to a movie and happily discovered Shiki Fusion is now open. The restaurant is beautiful with a lively vibe and fun music! The food was outstanding. We ordered mostly apps to try as many dishes as we could. The seaweed salad, chicken yakitori, chicken satay, shrimp shumai and rock shrimp were all excellent. We ordered the sashimi platter and having just returned from a trip to Japan can attest to how fresh the fish was and beautifully presented. It rivaled anything we had over there. The service was friendly and attentive and had almost none of the issues that often impact a new restaurant. We found the portions generous and fairly priced. We will absolutely return and as frequent movie goers this will be our first choice for dinner and a movie! read more

I don't make it a habit to leave poor reviews, generally I just won't return. But here I am leaving a less than stellar review...for a place we were excited to go and try as a family. The ambiance is fine, came in for dinner, and it was empty. No biggie, first ones to arrive for dinner and before a rush sounds amazing....however, the service was slow...painfully slow. Ordered a few items and it took about 45 min for it to arrive minus the small miso soup that came within 5 min of our order. Since we ordered three things, it didn't take long to finish, and given that it took so long to get the first order, we weren't going to wait around to order more. Asked for the wait staff via their iPad, and it was fifteen minutes before someone came to check us out.....who happens not to be our original server either. Food was fine, it is what I would expect from the price point. But there are plenty of other great sushi spots we could go to and get the same thing if not better. Maybe it is just our luck on service and on a slow night so there's no urgency to get food out and stuff?? read more
