I've been here several times now and have been meaning to do a review. I've had the beef filet in the past, but this time around, I ordered the beer can chicken with sautéed green beans. There was a light brown gravy that had mushroom and onion mixed in. I enjoyed it along with a small pan of freshly baked bread- that's right a pan! The bread was still warm and was equivalent to about four small rolls. Other sides to choose from include: baked potato, mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries as well as regular fries. The sweet potato fries are tasty as I had them last time. The only thing that needed improvement was the service. It was a bit slow. When I travel for business, I will usually sit at the bar for faster service. This time, prompt service was not the case. Nonetheless, a solid 4 stars based on previous visits. read more

Traveling from Utah and on our way to Mount Rushmore, we were desperately in need of some good grub as we rocketed through Casper, Wyoming. FireRock delivered ... big time! My wife and I each had the steak kabobs (I paired mine with fries, she had the basmati rice) and we were so pleased with the food. My medium rare steak was cooked just right, and the veggies/pineapple were deliciously seasoned. Daughter had the kids sirloin, and for $5.99 is was the steal of the century as far as kids meals go. Came to the area for work. Decided to check this place out based on yelp reviews and wasn't disappointed! It's always nice to go to a steakhouse and have your steak perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was excellent, Lorenzo was our waiter and very friendly. I had the Filet Oscar super tender and delicious and my partner had the Lamb which was perfectly cooked. I decided to try out FireRock Steakhouse on 2/15/2022. Here is my honest opinion: I ordered (to go) the Porterhouse Steak (medium rare), Wedge Salad, Calamari, and Bread/Butter. I am extremely disappointed with my experience (I would say this was probably the worst Steak I've ever gotten at a Fine Steak House). The main issues I was disappointed about are regarding the Porterhouse Streak $49.95 (not what is expected from a top end Steak House): - IMHO, it was a T-Bone Steak and not a Porterhouse Steak (it was definitely cut from the thin/T-Bone end) - While fat provides the flavor for a steak, this Steak had too much, and I enjoy Steak fat, this Steak should have been trimmed some (Trimmed of fat and gristle) - The Steak was very gristly and the entire New York Strip side was very tough (gristle was thick and along the entire the New York Strip side) + I will say the flavor/seasoning of the steak was good, the Tender Loin (Fillet) side was tender, and was cooked to my liking. + Steak was of the expected size, 28-32 oz. Wedge salad - was ok, the 2-3 grape tomatoes were not ripe and didn't taste good Calamari Fritti - not exactly what I was expecting, but the Calamari was cooked properly (not overcooked and rubbery) and flavorful. I was expecting it to be cut from the mantles of smaller squid, this was cut from much larger squid mantles which are usually used for Calamari steaks (in my experience), not an issue. The Banana Peppers and Red Peppers were tasty. I didn't try the diablo sauce as I prefer it naked. I enjoyed the Calamari Fritti. I wanted to upload a photo of the Steak so you could judge for yourself if it was a T-Bone or Porterhouse and the fat/gristle), but I don't see any option to upload. I don't recommend FireRock SteakHouse, and will not be returning, 1st impressions are everything (screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me). It is hard to find a decent restaurant anymore (decline of restaurants imho started in the late 1990's, Quality has diminished while Prices have skyrocketed, it is such a shame). We were in town for one night and had a fabulous experience at this restaurant. We had a VIP guest in our party and the manager, Patrick, and the hostess (who's name I regretfully did not catch) were extremely professional and accommodating. I was actually a little disappointed in Fire Rock. I was expecting something awesome. I think the biggest disappointment was that my boyfriend ordered the the steak and crab and the crab came out very dry and very salty. It was absolutely terrible. Some of the worst crab I've ever had in a restaurant. And of course, it was extremely expensive. The service was good and I enjoyed my meal but a restaurant that is supposed to be of this quality and caliber and charging the prices they charge should definitely know how to cook crab if they are going to have it on their menu. Stick to steak if the chefs don't know how to cook crab or if the restaurant isn't capable of getting quality crab. read more

There I didn't feel rushed at all to leave and we were the last ones there. As for the food.... OMG is all that needs to be said. The firecracker shrimp was sooo good, I got a salad, I can't seem to remember the name cause the server recommended it to me. First time eating here with the family; the food was very good however our waitress was terrible! She had a horrible attitude, and was visibly annoyed throughout our entire visit. We were not given silverware until we had to ask for some, AFTER they brought out food; this was one of the many struggles we had with her. Another arrived same deal. Had to return it. In Wyoming I would not expect to see fat on a filet. Pity as I said the place is just darling and it was packed. The wife and I drove up to Casper to see the Foo Fighters last week and asked the hotel front desk for restaurant recommendations. They suggested we try FireRock Steakhouse since it was on of the non chain restaurants around. Once we arrived the hostess informed us it would be a 20-30 minute wait due to all the folks in town for the concert. She suggested we could go to the bar to avoid the wait which we did. The bar was extremely busy with local clientele and all the concert goers. Our server Casey was very attentive to our needs and provided amazing Customer Service even with a full bar. My wife ordered the Sirloin with a side of shrimp and I ordered the bacon wrap filet with a side of Mac & Cheese per Casey's recommendation. The steaks were some of the best we have ever had. Great flavor and cooked to perfection. The Mac & Cheese was a combination of four cheeses and a hint of garlic. Last but not least we had a slice of the mango key lime pie for desert which was amazing. All and all a great time at FireRock Steakhouse. When in Casper, WY and you want a good steak, this is the place to go! read more

A day after a record blizzard I arrived into Casper and found the major roads mostly clear but the secondary ones still snowy! Checked into hotel and started looking at Yelp for my dinner spot. Saw FireRock and it looked good. Saw a review from a friend and coworker that had favorably written about it so I had to try. Parking lot was pretty packed but inside was plenty of seating. Shelby was my server and she was very friendly and helpful too! She immediately asked me what time it was and I told her it was 603pm. She volunteered that we still had a minute to turn an appetizer for half price. Artichoke Spinach dip was out quickly and very hot and tasty too! Came with several choices of food to enjoy the piping hot dip. Carrots, chips, celery and also toasted bread too. I ordered the Cajun Rib Eye and a baked potato with butter. My steak was cooked to my perfection juicy pink and hot inside with just a hint of crustiness on the outer edges. The potato was also hot and well cooked with a salted skin. Shelby enticed me with my favorite dessert Creme Brulee and I couldn't refuse. The dessert was delicious and delivered quickly. FireRock is s great go to spot in Casper, Wyoming! I would suggest it for anyone looking for a steakhouse experience on par with most major cities; but not priced as such. The restaurant is decorated very elegantly for the holidays and the staff was overly accommodating regardless of reservations. Our food was delicious, our service was on point. So we went to the free seating near the bar and sat at a larger table since it's the only one we could sit at. Our waitress, just asked us if we were going to be done by an hour because she has a party of six coming in. Asking us since we are sitting at a larger table and it's the only one we could find. She made us move tables because the people that were reserved were apparently friends of the owners of the fire rock. So really I feel bad for our waitress to have to deal with people like this that think that they are better then everyone else and make people move from their table in the middle of eating so they can have "their own table that they get all the time"! I'm so shocked by the owners of the fire rock that they allow this to happen!!! The food is good but doesn't show it by the way we got treated!! What an excellent restaurant! My husband and I are on a road trip and we're looking for an authentic Wyoming Steakhouse experience. I do believe we got one even though they have a location in Las Vegas. We started the meal with the complimentary Parker House rolls. They came out hot and fresh with a sprinkle of rosemary on top. They were fabulous, we could have eaten tons of them, but fortunately stopped after the first serving. Next we tried the firecracker shrimp, and I recommend getting the sauce on the side. It was delicious and had a bit of horseradish in the sauce so I loved that. Pro tip: If you get the sauce on the side, the shrimp stay crispy. We also shared the blue cheese wedge salad, which was delicious. The dressing tasted homemade and I loved how crispy and thick the bacon was. For our main entrees, my husband and I both ordered the bone-in rib-eye, medium rare. My steak came out perfectly, but they accidentally gave my husband a New York strip. When we told them of the error, they immediately ran back into the kitchen and fired the correct steak. It took a few minutes to come out, but I shared some of my steak with my husband and he was happy. For our side dishes, I ordered the steak fries extra crispy, and that is exactly how they were served. They remained hot and delicious throughout the entire meal. However, my husband's mashed potatoes were cold almost immediately after the steak was served and they were a bit thick. But he was too full to eat them or care. I thought our server did a great job, and I appreciated that they fixed the error as fast as possible. I would not hesitate to return if I were back in Casper again. read more
