Firerock NEVER disappoints. This is my all time favorite restaurant in Casper. They consistently provide amazing food, atmosphere, and service. Staff is always prompt, professional and polite and the food always comes out hot tasting absolutely delicious. My favorite dish is the top sirloin with Cajun spice and creole butter cooked medium well with white cheddar mashed potatoes. Don't forget a house salad with ranch! After a long day of travel I didn't feel like eating alone in a restaurant. I called in and ordered take out. The Monte Cristo sandwich was awesome. Mac n cheese side was over the top cheese wise just like it should be and they gave me a full side of fresh bread which was perfectly baked. Great food and service! Everything we had was delicious. Chicken Dijon was outstanding. My husband really enjoyed his maple pork chop. My son had the strip steak sandwich and didn't leave a bite. My favorite part of this restaurant was the service. The manager initially answered the phone with 5 minutes left to closing and told us to absolutely come in. Everyone was super friendly. I have eaten here many times. Sometimes it is geat (like last night) and others I leave totally pissed off. Here is the trick...DO NOT go there on a Fri or Sat. We went on a Monday and the food and service was superb. The fircracker Shrimp are great. I always have the ribeye, and usually it is good. Unless they are swamped, then nothing comes out right. Have gone a few different Friday's, waited for 45 min, they were out of everything, and nothing was cooked right. Better off hitting Poor boys on Fridays. I had the same waitress the last two times, and she was very good. Didn't rush us, but kept an eye on us as well. When I took my son for his birthday (13th) she made him feel very special. I wish they had a drink menu like they used too. I do like the mac and cheese and their baked potatoes are crsipy on the outside as though they cover them with butter before cooking. My boyrfriend loves that. They have a desert, a pecan ice cream sunday...Holy Moly it is to die for! I don't like ice cream, this is good. This was the second time we had been to fire rock in 3 years. Love the atmosphere, food was great, steaks cooked perfectly, dessert was yummy, decent wine list with totally acceptable prices. The only reason it wasn't 5 stars is because our server decided to drop our check about 3 bites into our entrees. I'm not sure why she was in such a hurry with us. It was 800pm on a thursday. Then we decided to order dessert, so she had to take the check back, add to it, and brought it back again, even before the dessert we ordered were brought. I watched her at her other tables, and she did not do the same to them. I guess when we decide to order and pay for a 4 course meal with a check total of $150, before tip, i would appreciate not being rushed. In the future, katie, please be a little more patient with your out of town guests and at least let them enjoy their expensive dinner before rushing them out. read more

The service was decent, and our waiter was very polite. The food was a different story. The prime rib was not how I remembered, and the biscuits were very over buttered (soggy ). I think the most disappointing part of our dinner was the shrimp. My Wife had a shrimp and strawberry salad that was nearly 14 dollars. It contained only 3 shrimp. I also paid 10 dollars for grilled shrimp on the side and received only 3 shrimp (menu does not detail how many you receive ) . The food quality for the dollar is below what I feel is average. This place has a great selection of food and drinks. Staff are all wonderful. It is a bit noisy when it's busy, but doesn't feel crowded. I have been a few times now and never disappointed. After reading some of the reviews online I decided to give this place a shot. The steak house has a nice layout, and environment. I ordered the sampler for an appetizer, which was very good. Our waitress told us about a special on the menu. It was a 16 oz steak smothered in cheese, and crab meat. Myself and two others at my table ordered the special. All three of us agreed that the steak was not that great. I was fairly disappointed considering this was a steak house, and the amount of cattle in the area. The steak was very chewy and I asked for medium rare. It also had large amounts of fat trimming. And, not the kind of fat that melts in your mouth, the kind that you can't chew because it's like bone. I am not sure if I would come back again. Maybe it was just the steak. The last time I ate here. I had a porterhouse ordered medium rare. The steak was of poor quality of meat and had a large piece of silver skin running through the middle of it. On top of that, a section of the stake was raw while the opposite side was overcooked. The waiter paid no mind to my complaint. Beautiful place. High end dining. Wish the food was as high end as the atmosphere. My husband ordered a fish dinner and literally had to cut his fish with a steak knife because it was so tough. I ordered a steak prepared medium. It was like chewing a piece of boot leather. The waiter came to our table to take our order and to give us a check. He never came to fill our drinks or to ask how we were doing. We eat out quite a bit and are very easy to take care of. We never send food back or complain about anything. What can I say, this place failed to impress. The location made it seem like it was worth the drive to go somewhere casual. The retaurant had a great atmosphere and decor in and out. Our party of 4 had an order of prime rib, 2x lamb chops, and an order of carbonara. I had the prime rib which was very excellent, but I'm a sucker for prime rib. The two other members had the lamb chops which were awful! The smell of the lamb was just overbearing, that they couldn't eat it. They passed it onto my plate for my border collie at home. The other member had the carbonara which in his opinion was not very good. The server was very nice, in the end, she asked what was wrong with the carbonara as she offered to make another one because that one was not "good." But our member declined the nice offer. Service is great, but the lamb and carbonara was not. Ended up with a bill of $150 for a 4 person party. I think poorboys will be a better option next time for half that price! read more

I had the Bacon cheeseburger with a side beet salad and BBQ pork nachos. All in all this place was okay. This is a place trying to be upscale so I will hold it to that bar. The cheeseburger was fine. Cooked properly, but not a stand out burger. It could have used some arugula and maybe a better cut of beef. Not a dollar burger but not a 10 buck burger either. The beet salad was quite nice, by far my favorite dish of the meal. The beets were grilled to perfection and the flavor profile was exquisite. The BBQ pork nachos were nothing to write home to mom about. okay idea, bad execution. I can't say exactly where they are going wrong here, but if you are going to recommend a dish for me, make sure that it is a good dish. All in all I would say sure you are in the middle of nowhere, try this place out. They have some good qualities, but for their price point they need to affect a stronger sense of quality in their product to make their stand. read more

The issue with Firerock is the food. It remains to be seen if it is poor due to ignorance or laziness. However in Firerock's defense its location is not optimal for any type of innovative or radical culinary scene. This is not necessarily Wyoming's fault as the state is mostly blue collar and eats as such (after all who is going to start a cutting edge eating establishment in such a lowly populated area). However the food at Firerock is severely lacking. As for the most part it just seems clumsily prepared and conceived. I base this on an Easter brunch we had this year. It looked amazing, however when it came to taste the food just seemed bland as if cheaper ingredients were used. Overall I would say that Firerock is ok to go occasionally, but not an establishment that should be visited habitually. On a positive note I enjoyed Firerock's interior it had a familiar feeling that some restaurants do, yet at the same time it was not sterile. I have been to Firerock a couple of times since moving to Casper. I have to say it reminds me of a restaurant I would find in a city, which is why I like it. I also like the restaurant because they have a decent amount of options to choose from. Don't get me wrong I love red meat but it seems like all the restaurants here only have that to choose from. I was excited to finally see chicken and fish on the menu. I have ordered the rotisserie chicken both times I have eaten at FireRock. The chicken has been perfectly crispy and the portion size is great. I wasn't too pleased with their vegetable medley, it was under-seasoned and lacking flavor. I also am not a fan of their garlic mashed potatoes. They tasted like boxed potatoes. The lobster mac and cheese seems to be a poplar dish. Last time I ate at FireRock I ordered mac and cheese as my side but much to my dismay the were out of it. I don't understand how you can just run out of something? My service was pretty good but we did have to wait awhile for our dishes to come out. I definitely think this is one of the best restaurants in Casper. read more

The menu changes frequently BUT you can ask to have a fav dish prepared for you and nine times out of ten they will do it! Great appetizers: I've had fried pickles elsewhere and NEVER have they been this good, sirloin bruschetta was so tender, so good I had to lick my fingers, stuffed shrooms are delectable and a nice balance of herbs, the jumbo lump crab cakes are yum! And this is just the beginning! I love their lamb porterhouse and their veal chop. Few places in Wyoming can cook this good!! Their soups are simply divine especially the potato leek. I love their sweet potato; it has brown sugar, pecans and if you want marshmallows, I just go for the pecans and brown sugar. I had a sweet potato at a place in Riverton and it was horrible, this was perfect and dressed with just the right amount of extras! I'm not a big Brussel Sprout person, but when I tasted my Dad's carrot, brussels and bacon veg side I asked for a side myself. They make homemade sweetp potato pie that is sweet and has nice mouth feel and their chocolate angel food cake is coffee flavored and served with fresh berries. This place makes my mouth water when I'm driving to Casper. We eat here a lot when in Casper. read more

This was pretty good considering it is in Casper. The decor was nice and I especially enjoyed the bar area. It got a little cheesy when we were seated and the server wrote her name upside down on the paper table cloth, like a Macaroni Grill or something. I also thought it was strange that she didnt ask me how I wanted my burger cooked. This is a steak house, and we're in cow country, you'd think they would know better. My burger arrived well done.
