I guess I've visited all the related restaurants to this franchise around the Tahoe resorts? A pizza place is always good because of the share-ability and mass appeal (at least in this country!). That said, the pizzas are definitely just ok. I mean, kudos to the chef and cooks who manage to make pizza at high altitude, I'm sure it's not easy and hard to make comparable to lower altitude pizza. That said, the crust isn't my favorite and the pizza is loaded with toppings -- which is nice! -- a lot of which are mushrooms and peppers that give out moisture, making the top layer of the crust mushy. The appetizers are quite good though (not the salad. The other stuff). And you do need to load up on the carbs while you're on the mountain here. Really solid spot for some pizza, beer, and maybe even a salad! I tried their house salad, firehouse pizza, and the bbq chicken pizza. All were good (bbq chicken was my favorite), but I'm just not a huge fan of this style of crust. Flavors and toppings were on point though! Service was great as well. Had a great experience here! Visited on a Friday night around 6:30 and had a 30 minute wait. Luckily, they take your phone number and text you when the table is ready. For our party of 5, we ordered two salads (Greek and Caesar) and 2 pizzas. One medium Pear and Gorgonzola and one large Fire Roasted Medley. They were delicious! Came to Tahoe for the Christmas weekend and was hungry for some good pizza and pasta and this place did not disappoint. The place is lite and neat. The host was friendly and was so kind to accommodate us quickly to our table. Our server was absolutely homey and welcoming. We ordered a large pizza and a large plate of pasta to share amongst ourselves and a couple of appetizers with their local root beer. Top class pizza at the beautiful palisades. The fireside pizza is a must try. Even the magarita pizza was a delicacy just because of the freshness of the elements. But the showstopper was the Thai curry pizza which I was highly skeptical of but somehow managed to stun me with how it was able to capture the literal essence of a panang curry on a pizza. Another 5 star experience at Fireside. It's a must foist now for us on our annual Tahoe trips now. So much so that our kids instead that we head out our first day here. Had many of the same items, margherita pizza, bbq chicken, I tried a new one in pear and gorgonzola. That was good, but I think I liked the Thai one the best. Also had the garlic chips and artichoke dip, delish! Server Peej was nice and attentive. Another staff member quite diplomatically handled some folks who were smoking but weren't from CA/USA and aware that it is largely prohibited here. He did a great job quickly making them aware and resolving the issue with no one being left out of sorts. Sitting out on the patio was nice. We stuck three tables together to get 2 umbrellas to get all of us some shade. Came on a Friday in July. Was able to get seated right away, they have seating outside and it was gorgeous out. Dogs allowed on the patio and they even gave my dog a huge bowl of water with ice cubes in it right away without me asking. Which was awesome. They have tons of gluten free options. Without comparing the two, the service is pretty standard and able to accommodate a group. The food seems under seasoned especially their pasta. The pizza was standard as well and nothing too great. And since it is Tahoe, it is quite a price to pay for regular food. Comparing the two, there is a staggering difference in service and food quality. It doesn't have that same energy and hype which is pretty noticeable comparing the two locations. Side note since it is not owned by ikon, they do not get any of the pass discounts as you do at the other restaurants in the lodge. We were invited to join some locals for lunch and ended up at Fireside. While they were eating salads my date and I decided to order/split a pizza. We kept it simple with a pepperoni. The pizza arrived and to our delight it was delicious! The undercarriage was solid with no flop and a light crunch. The sauce was flavorful. The pepperoni had just a tinge of burn, and you could tell was a quality pepperoni (as opposed to flat chain-pizza pepperoni). We both loved the flavor, the feel, and the texture of this pizza. Arguably one of the best pizza's we've both eaten in quite a long time. The water here is remarkable. Seems silly to comment on this but apparently it comes out the side of the mountain and is super pure. It had a purity and crispness I've only rarely experienced. I probably drank 4 glasses. Fireside uses these wonderful oversized water glasses, too. I love this because we never had to wait for the server--she was there with water in a timely manner. Service here was ok--competent but nothing special (common these days with 85% of places we go). Our hosts' salads looked really great and complete. They said the salads tasted good. If ever back in the area I will definitely go here again. The ambience is comfortable, the pizza is excellent, and the water is pure! Definitely worth visiting. read more

Pizza was decent and definitely pricey for what you get, but you do have to keep in mind that dining options are limited when you are in Tahoe - it does help that Fireside Pizza is located right in the Palisades Resort if you are staying there. We tried the House Special which was topped with sausages and mushrooms and the Pear and Gorgonzola salad (with shrimp) as well as the soup of the day. Family-friendly pizza spot in Olympic Village. Came here on a Friday around noon and got seated immediately. There is an outdoor patio with umbrellas and most people opted to sit outside. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Credit cards are accepted. The parking lot is huge and it was easy to park (though we were there in the summer, so I'm not sure if the situation holds true in the winter). Dogs are allowed on the patio. One large pizza (8 slices) fed the four of us comfortably. We got the Big Mountain pizza which came with a mound of meats. I liked how much crumbly bacon bits were on there. They do serve alcohol and Truckee Session IPA is a good call if you want something refreshing on a hot day. One of the advantages of staying in or close to the Village at Palisades is that there are lots of restaurants to choose from. We decided on Fireside Pizza because it's the most shareable and kid-friendly option in the area, and it did not disappoint. We ordered our food to-go since we wanted to be able to spread out at our condo. We weren't sure how large the large pizzas were, and they are truly large. For two adults and a kid (with a decent-sized appetite), we could have been totally fine with one large pizza but we got a large and a medium. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza with smoked gouda which was super tasty, though on the decadent side. We also got a medium pizza which was good. The pizza was ready pretty quickly - they estimated it would take 45 minutes and it was closer to 35 minutes. One item to note is that they charge a 15% service charge when you order online. When we arrived to pick up our pizza, service was great and they were able to get us our pizzas relatively quickly. On a Friday night, the place was pretty busy and I imagine that there's a wait during peak ski season. read more

This past Tuesday (2023), we stayed a little ways from Truckee, but we drove in the (small) snowstorm JUST to get Fireside! It was so worth it, as it was my friends' first time trying the place, and they loved it too! We got the Margherita pizza last time, and we just had to get it again now. We also got the Thai Curry pizza, which we were skeptical about at first, but as die-hard Panang curry fans, this DEFINITELY lives up to the name! I was very impressed. And of course, we had to get the cheese breadsticks for starters, which we finished within a minute. Everything was excellent. Service was top-notch! Wow, this place pleasantly surpassed my family's and my expectations!! We stayed at The Villages at Palisades Tahoe during their Brews, Jazz, Funk Fest this weekend. My party of 5 adults shared three large entrees: Pear & Walnut Salad ($19) - mixed greens perfectly tossed with balsamic dressing with juicy pear and candied walnuts; walnuts and Bosc pear were delicious but could have put more than 1/2 pear, fyi comes with gorgonzola cheese if you're not a fan of blue cheese Thai Curry Chicken Pizza ($36) - made fresh to order, sweet yellow curry base with fresh tomatoes and yellow bell peppers with dollops of mascarpone cheese; the dough was sweet and delicious - i usually don't like to eat crust but i left no scraps, def checks off my crust, sauce, and cheese criteria Spaghetti Bolognese ($23) - al dente pasta with generous meat portions, creamy sauce but not overwhelmingly heavy Water - so apparently their water is sourced from the mountains and it was so refreshing and clean, no nasty hard water here The staff were courteous and welcoming despite the festivities outside and within the restaurant. Inside decorations was cozy and reminded me of a rustic cabin. Ambiance-wise, the table next to us were a bit loud and kept setting off my watch's "Noise Alarm" with decibels reaching 90 (so watch out for young kids??). Parking-wise, there's ample parking within the lot out front - overall, wheelchair accessible but might be difficult in the snow. This place deserves to be a staple if you happen to be in North Lake Tahoe region. Visited this pizza joint for a quick take-out dinner during a wedding weekend and was pleased with the food and service provided during our experience. We ordered two personal pizzas for take out and the process was quick and easy. Took a stroll around the village while we waited since the server informed us of the 30 minute wait. However it was ready for pick up much sooner than expected, which was great because we were HONGRY. The personal pizzas we ordered were a perfect portion and they were still hot by the time we walked back to our hotel (PlumpJack). The pizzas are a New York style thin crust, which is my preference.
